Exclusive: Raven Banner Entertainment is kicking off global sales for Alex Noyer’s horror movie Love Is The Monster starring Madeline Zima (Californication) and Leonardo Nam (Westworld) at the Marché Du Film and its Fantastic Pavilion, during Cannes.

Inspired by Finnish mythology, troubled couples head to Finland for a transformative retreat, where they fall prey to a sinister cult seeking to resurrect an ancient goddess of love. Noyer, wrote and directed the feature. Co-scribes are Hannua Aukia & Blair Bathory.

In addition to Zima and Nam, additional cast members include Kimberly Sue-Murray (The Boys), Moe Jeudy-Lamour (Ted Lasso), Kristina Tonteri-Young (Warrior Nun), Milla Puolakanaho (Attack on Helsinki) and Sheila McCarthy (Women Talking).

Noyer is a Finnish-French filmmaker with a background in advertising, documentaries, and genre films. After founding You Know Films, he transitioned from advertising to storytelling, producing art and music documentaries, including the acclaimed ‘808’, the first documentary released on Apple Music.

In the wake of five new horror movies this past Tuesday, including the at-home debuts of Christopher Landon’s Drop and the Jenna Ortega-starring Death of a Unicorn, another Nine new movies were unleashed today. They include a period piece shark attack film, the return of David Howard Thornton, and a sun-soaked psychological freakout starring Nicolas Cage.

Exclusive: Colin Bates (Queer) and Ella Kennedy Davis (Your Friends and Neighbors) will topline These Little Ones Perish, an indie drama from director Alex Noyer (Sound of Violence), which has wrapped production in New York.

For Noyer, the circumstances surrounding the shoot were extraordinary, as he went to set just one week after losing his home in the devastating Palisades fire that destroyed over 6,000 structures. Hailing from Genco Pictures and You Know Films, the project is an adaptation of the play by Patrick Hamilton, who penned the script.

The story begins after a young altar boy’s tragic death by suicide in a local church. Father Frye (Bates) discovers the body, only to face resistance from the church hierarchy, the local police and the surrounding community. His investigation is driven by the grief and distrust of the boy’s older sister, Siobhan (Davis), as well as the church’s apparent urgency to bury the truth.

Exclusive: Katie Cassidy has been set to play the lead role in psychological thriller Nanny Cam, which is due to begin filming next month in New Jersey.

The film follows a new mother, played by Cassidy, who grapples with her dark ancestral legacy as she tries to protect her newborn daughter against what she believes is a malevolent demon, bringing her own mental health into question.

Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley (Jersey Shore) is writer-director, marking her sophomore feature behind the camera, and in it she draws on her own personal experiences growing up with an absent mother and of first-time motherhood. No, this isn’t a biopic about Jeremy Renner and his near-fatal run-in with a snowplough. The new film from director Robert Rippberger is about a computer coder named Renner. He’s wealthy and successful, but like most Hollywood techies, he’s a hopeless introvert and can’t bring himself to talk to the neighbour he’s crushing on. To help with that, he’s developed Salenus, an AI voiced by Marcia Gay Harden to help him become more self-confident and assertive.

At first, it seems to work, and he works up the nerve to talk to Jamie and for reasons unexplained, she becomes interested in him as well. This puts him in another awkward position when she brings her brother Chad to dinner with her.

Madeleine McGraw and her sister Violet McGraw have had separate successes in the horror genre, with Madeleine having a standout role in The Black Phone and Violet dealing with M3GAN (plus playing roles in the Mike Flanagan projects The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep). Now, they’ll be facing horrors together in The Curse of the Necklace, which is set to be released through the Tubi streaming service this Friday, October 18th. Just like the process of taking any good photograph, it takes a while for writer-director Joshua Erkmans feature debut A Desert to frame everything just right so that its full striking vision can be felt. This may take a bit of arranging, including moments where the often refreshingly patient horror film retraces its steps, but that only makes the images it creates all the more potent. While the film initially centers on a creator of such images in the roaming photographer Alex, played by Kai Lennox of recent series like Perry Mason and Fargo, it soon expands outwards. Director Joshua Erkman’s feature debut, “A Desert,” will be launched for world sales by Yellow Veil Pictures ahead of its Tribeca Film Festival premiere in June.

The film stars Kai Lennox, David Yow (“I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore”) and Sarah Lind (“A Wounded Fawn”). Cinematographer Jay Keitel shot the film and Ty Segall composed its soundtrack and original score.

“A Desert” marks the first production from Yellow Veil Pictures in partnership with Capes & Fog, a production company founded by Erkman.

The annual Fangoria Chainsaw Awards were held on Sunday evening, and a big win was earned by Mia Goth. For her role in Pearl, the Ti West-directed prequel to the popular slasher movie X, Goth won the award for Best Lead Performance. It's a big win for Goth, who has quickly emerged as a fan favorite in the horror genre, having garnered great acclaim with her performances in both of those films, among others.

The Pitch: Rod Serling's opening narration for "The Twilight Zone" teased "a dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind." It's in this realm that filmmaker Travis Stevens is most comfortable, and the one he presents in "A Wounded Fawn." Stevens' third directed feature is his gnarliest thus far, and bodes well for the kind of original horror movie that fans have clamored for since the first jump scare.

The whole bloody affair of "A Wounded Fawn" concerns jaded museum curator Meredith Tanning (Sarah Lind) who lives out this writer's personal nightmare of jumping back into the dating pool only to find herself in a serial killer's living room.

The minds behind Jakob's Wife and Werewolves Within are teaming up for A Wounded Fawn. The horror thriller revolves around a woman attempting to get back into dating after escaping a toxic relationship, only to land in the crosshairs of a mentally unhinged serial killer.

Sarah Lind and Josh Ruben lead the cast of A Wounded Fawn alongside Malin Barr, Katie Kuang, Laksmi Hedemark, and Tanya Everett. Co-written and directed by Travis Stevens, the film takes audiences through a psychedelic game of cat-and-mouse with haunting visuals reminiscent of the Giallo genre and Greek fables.

Marrying two of the most exciting voices in contemporary horror — writer/director Travis Stevens and star Josh Ruben (himself an accomplished director) — Shudder’s “A Wounded Fawn” is a grainy, phantasmagoric trek into the woods and into the recesses of a serial killer’s mind. Sometimes feeling like two competing aesthetics fighting for primacy, “A Wounded Fawn” may not be as accomplished or coherent as Stevens’ and Ruben’s previous films.

This Halloween season is a Huge one for horror fans, with beloved villains including Chucky, Pinhead, Michael Myers and Art the Clown making their return, and that means the spooky season issue of Fangoria Magazine is sure to be a can’t-miss one. Fangoria #17 is coming October 11, and the official newsstand cover has been shared this afternoon.

Jamie Clayton’s Pinhead from the upcoming Hellraiser movie takes center stage on the cover, sharing that stage with Art the Clown (Terrifier 2) and Michael Myers (Halloween Ends)!

This fall marks the 10th anniversary of Beyond Fest, and the festival is brimming with special screenings and must-see appearances for fans to look forward to, including Hellraiser (2022), V/H/S/99, A Wounded Fawn, Sick, the world premiere of Halloween Ends, and a screening of Impulse (1974) with William Shatner in attendance.

Beyond Fest announced today its absolutely insane slate of 2022 programming comprising 63 features, including 10 world premieres, 3 US premieres, and 25 West Coast Premieres.

The fest returns to Los Angeles for its tenth-anniversary edition with 15 days of cinematic excess from September 27th – October 11th, and will screen at the legendary IMAX at the Tcl Chinese, Hollywood Legion Theatre, Aero Theatre, Los Feliz 3, and IMAX headquarters with all ticket sales going to the 501c3 non-profit film institution.

The press release went out this morning and revealed several high-profile events, with the highlight being a theatrical screening of David Bruckner’s brand new Hellraiser, not to mention the World Premieres of Joe Begos‘s hotly anticipated Christmas Bloody Christmas, pictured below, and David Gordon Green’s slasher sequel Halloween Ends!

For starters, the Subscriber Cover for Fangoria #17 will feature Jamie Lee Curtis side-by-side with Michael Myers, of course in promotion of the upcoming Halloween Ends. And we’re excited to let you know that Terrifier 2 is also featured in the new issue, the hotly-anticipated slasher sequel that Bloody Disgusting and Cinedigm are bringing to theaters in October.
