The Grand theft auto series has made a name for itself in the past 10 years. From drive-by shootings by gangsters in the 1990s to bringing a new generation of kids to music of the 80s, GTA has nearly done it all. so now liberty city is seeing the triads rise to power in 2009, all because of one young man...Huang lee.
Upon arrival in Liberty city, Huang lee is mugged, shot, and left for dead in the liberty city bay. it's his intention to right all the wrongs against him...which include solving his father's murder, working for his uncle Kenny to bring the triads to power, and most importantly, to recover a great treasure that has been in his family for decades upon centuries...a Sword.
I play the DS version of the game, and i gotta tell ya, it's fun. if you hate the portable GTA games, they've come a long way since the straight up overhead view. even though Chinatown wars is kind of like that, at least it's not 100% overhead...more like 70%. one guy commented saying that once you get a wanted level, you're screwed. thats not the case. get 3 or 4 stars and yeah, maybe you'll end up with a nightstick in your butt, but just hide in a safehouse, save your Progress, and your wanted level disappears.
Quite Possibly the most fun feature is the drug dealing. this game allows you to deal drugs and make crap-tons of money doing it. Weed and Downers are 2 digit valued, Ecstasy and Acid are triple digit valued, and Cocaine and Heroin are the most expensive and hardest to get, at 4 digit value. just make sure you die running from the cops, because they can't take drugs or guns from a dead Huang.
Also, ammu-nation has gone online. No longer can you walk into an ammunation gun shop. you have to order them online.
overall, I Strongly Suggest you play this game. it lives up to what little hype it was given, and it certainly will be a fun half hour when you're bored.

Different, great, worth playin, this game is super f-in great and not everyone liked it probly because of old game style but it's really good, worth it, you may get that oldschool feeling with this game, story is great, side missions are great as well but DRUG DEALING: damn it may be the best of this game, there is no other gta side activity that can beat drug dealing...
The game was yucky.
Nice try tho to get people hooked on the psp. This obviously didn't help anyone.
The game was uninteresting coming after GTA 4.

It is an underrated game.Just the graphics and the top angle are the disadvantages ,but I really love that game so much
Badly written. Bad design.
Now onto a personal thing. I completed the game with my stats saying that I did not get wasted, busted or fail a mission. After a long hiatus, I picked up the game and started playing free roam. I began a rampage mission and due to my unfamiliarity to the controls from a long time without playing, I died. Now, when I used to die on missions I immediately turn off the DS and restart it so that my stats stay zero. But this time when I rebooted the DS, I was in a different location to my last save. I checked my stats and it said wasted = 1. How is that possible when I disabled auto-save (the worst video game invention) when I started the game and haven't touched it since. Checked the settings and there it is; Auto-save = on. Not sure how that happened, maybe a bug, an update, Nintendo generally being shite.
But no problem, I'll just load up my older save...where is it? Oh yeah the auto-save that I turned off had over-written the HARD save that I had made in a safehouse. So from completing the entire game with my stats staying clean, a stupid rampage mission death had ruined the whole game. Won't ever pick it up and play it again.
Bad, bad, bad design. A complete miss-step, Rockstar. Get rid of auto-save and statistics for how many times we die. Who wants to know that?
