One of the best short films I've seen. Very well written and directed, beautifully shot and the truthful performances make this a very memorable film. I've seen many short films over the years at film festivals and I found it quite refreshing to see a short that doesn't try to be a mini feature, the content and length were just enough to leave me knowing enough but wanting more. This story may not be everyone's cup of tea but I would challenge anyone not to be moved by what they see. I recognised the actress from Resident Evil and I thought her performance was excellent. I think overall it is a great example of brave filmmaking, the trust in the dialogue and the subtlety of the directing in the hope that the audience will engage and understand is impressive as we are gently drawn in to the story but not overindulged with content. We are left to ponder and think for ourselves which I don't see enough in short films.
A friend of mine had seen this on Channel 4 and told me to watch it. I was gripped from the start, I really didn't know where it was going or what was going to happen but there is something about the story that keeps the viewer watching. I was blown away! Telling a complete story within a short film is a difficult medium and I think film just about manages to achieve that. The cinematography is stunning and the subtle performances from the two actors was just right. The film is essentially one scene-a conversation between two people that leads to something quite unexpected.
If you like your films moving at a fast pace with lots of things happening then this story is definitely not for you! I imagine this film would cause great debate depending on ones views as it is dealing with a very controversial subject matter. That said, the director has dealt with it very sensitively and has told a very moving story. I would have liked to know more about the two characters, their history and why they have arrived at this point but that is the only criticism I would have about what is a very thought provoking piece which has left me telling others to watch it and discuss.

Dance for Eternity was gorgeous film and I'm glad I got to see it. It was perfect in its simplicity yet poetic and visually beautiful. The use of language and the hidden metaphors, and what people say and don't say is expressed humbly, and naturally. It is loaded with understated emotion and definitely leaves a thought provoking question at the end. I loved the use of story telling both visually and in the dialogue and I think this was a well made well thought out film in its concept and in its direction. It is a little gem and its nice to see something unique and pure in its intention. I think it deserved it's award. I would recommend it to see and a lesson in film making and natural acting rather than something over egged or clichéd.
