No one to root for

A stranger comes into town, is beaten up for being a stranger coming into town, is arrested, escapes, murders in cold blood the man responsible for the accidental(!) overdose of his drugged out daughter, and is pursued for that murder. Oh, plus the government water deal is now in jeopardy for some reason, despite being entirely unrelated to anything going on and the viewer not knowing enough about the deal to care one way or the other.

Lots of people speak. Lots of people die. Lots of the audience snores.

Three stars for decent acting all around. Richard Dreyfuss appears. I can only imagine he's repaying a debt or is related to one of the D-listers onscreen. No stars for the "good guy" being at least as despicable as the "bad guys", leaving us no one to care about. Three stars.

Low Budget

Sorry to the crew and producers but also no sorry. In that, from experience, these sort of movies amount to a waste of one's time amounting to the duration of the movie. With a 3.8/10 rating, the usual features are: lengthy unnecessary conversations, redundant scenes, action scenes lacking common sense and a very predictable plot. My advice, watch at ur own peril. Thanks.

Four writers, and not one could create a cohesive and coherent screenplay?

Towards the ending, Michael Madsen's character (the only decent actor in this slop) says "this world is a cruel and unforgiving place." It sure is when movies like this are being made.

Aside from the horrible writing - riddled with plot and technical issues and sloppy dialogue, the directing was terrible, especially the choppy action scenes. But most annoying, were the washed out colors and 80's slow-mo scenes. Never mind this being a B film, it felt more like a 5th grade drama class production.

Paul Sloan seemed to have trouble staying awake for most part of the film, and I can't figure out if Richard Dreyfuss was drunk, and/or on some bad meds. Clearly he was in this only for the paycheck.

The only decent qualities this film had going for it, was the well-paced 82 min runtime, and the score, which is usually loud, overbearing and unfitting - typical in B films.

This mess is a huge pass, and a generous 3/10 from me.

Wow. It's got everything! A complete waste of everything

It's got it all Bad writing Bad directions Bad cinematography Bad editing Bad colour work.

Bad story Bad continuity Bad firearms handling from alleged pros Infinitely full magazines Bullets flying everywhere The hero walks off a rifle hit from a 30-30 A hail of rounds doesn't come near him

It's not even a good vengeance movie

And most of all, it's got Bad acting. Really really really bad acting

Looks like a failed grade nine video project.

Double Kiss of death

When I started the movie and saw the red Sagan logo I said uh-oh. Then I saw Michael Madison's name and I knew it was over. The movie begins in a strangely color filtered strip club. It's so washed out that the blue tinge is the only thing keeping it from being black and white.

The strippers were low budget as well with one having a rump so large and jiggly that even a club in the ATL would have trouble containing it. Also Karen is in this(the actress formerly known as Tayra Manning), looking very much like a Karen.

You've seen it

Nothing new, plain old action story. Competent but lifeless. Surprised to see Richard Dreyfuss, who did well but his role and dialog was asmplain and silly as the rest.

its like rambo 112...

Made for an opportunistic wish to make some more money on the consept and to give the super scooper grand old man richard dreyfusss some butter on his breadslice. Its a story about rambling rose thats on a high and on the run, and her fathers search for her, scouting out her last known location to save her. But the wild west city of nooneathoma is run by the sheriff and his family, where the douped out son seems to be the breastfondeling hudlum that sits on his daughter. He is incarcerated, the father, but he is a trained killer like rambo, and only one man in the world may help before ''every last one of them'' is dead, namely richy rich

this is b-film just bordering the c-film quality, it works on 2x ffwd, if it doesnt then, just leave the hairy soup of daftness. The screenplay and plot are so off from another and the cast looks very low on inspiration. Also the filmcrew forgot the shoulder straps of the camera backpack with triangulation problems and drunken configuration of the camerahandling, and the only steady shoots are from a selfreflecting drone.

No stay away from this wannamake money on a dollar movie, its just another brick on the wall of dreysusses castleprisondungeon. A no recommend from the grumpy old man.

A father searches for his daughter...

And takes down an entire army to save her!

OMG, how does crap like this get green lit?

It's like the people financing these films are screaming, show me how to lose my money!

The producers could've gotten better writing from hiring people on Fiverr!

The action scenes look like home-made videos made on YouTube... by 12 year olds!

I'm wasting even more of my time after having already wasted my time watching this sewage grade movie that ends up being shown in a Motel 6 room.

Metoo shamed actors making junk films

Really this film is awful. Dreyfus' metoo problems mean the roles he is being offered are junk films with the usual suspects of other actors who only do junk.

And what is it with action films where the lead action figures do not even know how to hold a firearm (tea cupping)??

I Liked it a Little

If you've seen "Hardcore" with George C. Scott or any of the many movies like it, you'll recognize the plot similarities quickly. It's far from totally original in its story line but then, with all the remakes and reboots and, well you know, at least it's a new take.

I love Michael Madsen, Richard Dreyfuss and Taryn Manning so I decided to check this one out. It will very likely not even get talked about in the restrooms of any of the awards shows but it was entertaining to me.

I am very happy to see Mr. Dreyfuss back on the screen (although it's selfish of me to see him have to come out of retirement) and his character was played with the same strength and subtleties that are truly his forte.

Taryn Manning put in a good performance but Michael Madsen was a bit dryer than usual. I don't know if it was because he wasn't happy to be in the film or if it was poor directing or what but I've certainly seen Mr. Madsen put in much better performances.

Would I recommend this movie to my friends? I would say yes but with the caveat that they need to expect a movie that they may or may not want to watch again but I personally enjoyed having seen it.

Would I watch it again? Probably not for a long time but, being a cinephile, I watch a lot of movies others would not (I almost hate to admit that I've seen both "Refer Madness" and "Plan 9 from Outer Space" more than once. Not much more but still) so it is a possibility.

Simple action/revenge movie

Nothing new here , a bit like a poor mans version of Rambo with some Ozark tossed in. Michael Madson has done some bombs for several years, don't let the fact he is in it steer you away from it. His role is minimal. Overall a pretty decent action shoot em up film.

what was that ?

What was that ? I repeat my review title.... This movie is actually one of the worst i watched. That storyline is such nonsens, the acting is terrible, especially Richard Dreyfuss' "performance" is horrific.

No, it is a waste of money and time.

respect that they made a movie... but

It was just an awful, awful movie

Horrible script to start with. Implausible.

Just don't even know where to start with how dumb this was. They stole some elements from Rambo, First Blood, but they could not even make them right.

Such A Waste

Anything above a 1 is a gift... This movie is a literal waste of film. I'm shocked that actors of Richard Dreyfuss's caliber would put their name on this type of a horrible film. It needs no detail descriptions to explain the terrible acting, poor plot and senseless dialogue. Don't waste your time on this dog.

Poor quality - Charles Bronson would have done it right

A lot of the audio was inaudible. Was Richard Dreyfus suffering from some sort of stroke issues as you couldn't understand much of what he said even when you could hear it. He should hang up his acting badge he's past it in so many ways. Why is it in this type of movie with all this constant gunfire multiple people shooting against one person, the person being hunted never ever picks up any of the weapons with more rounds or better firing actions? They carry on with one small gun which seems to have a never ending supply of bullets when in reality it can only hold about - I don't know 6-8 rounds but fires off about 30-40 shots in one scene ? So predictable and annoying.

Pretty bad.

Many cinematic errors, poor scene cuts and a terrible explanation of chronological events. A review requires 150 characters. Forgettable Thriller

Pretty terrible First Blood like action thriller that has no one likable nor does it explain itself well. Way too many scenery and establishing shots as well.

Just skip it

Low budget. Not at all worth wasting any time on. I'm not sure of the details behind the production of this film but I'm guessing it was an amateur hour gig puffed up with actors who are doing a favor for reasons. Skip it.

The hammiest film ever made

No plot yet huge plot holes. Corny dialogue. Disjointed, throw-away story. Appallingly hammy and wooden acting. Poorly directed, poorly written, poorly produced and cliche-ridden. Sedate and dull action scenes. I can't think of a single redeeming feature that would make this film watchable. What the likes of Richard Dreyfuss are doing in the film I've no idea - I'd guess that at the twilight of his career all he's interested in is money for his retirement.

It has a tense, bass and drum soundtrack to give the film the gravitas it lacks but it plays constantly through the film and soon becomes intrusive.
