Manichean film where terrorists drop like flies by the dozen while we are entitled to 15 minutes of tearful melodrama for the death of a single "nice" soldier. Otherwise the film is effective as an old american action film not very fine.
Completely overrated. This movie is not better than a second class Hollywood war movie. The script is so poor, it's appalling. Pyrotechnics must represent half of the film's budget!
The hype was unfortunately unreal, i got mixed feelings because i really wanted to like this movie but they made it really hard with bad narration, poor character building and robotic conversations, the soundtrack was horrible could've been much much better, didn't want to be harsh judging this movie but it's really a big disappointment for me.
That's a 1988 US film about a Russian tank crew in Afghanistan losing its way in as narrow canyon and being ambushed by Mujaheddin. It has a fairly complex story and shows both sides of the conflict. This film takes the basic idea and paints it black and white, good Emirati soldiers and evil Huthis, who are however fighting in their own land.
The war in Yemen is part of the conflict between Sunni Saudis and Shia Iran, with both sides trying to make coexistence impossible, but this film doesn't give you any information about that. There is no explanation who the Huthi are, and the film equates them with Daesh although they are enemies. It's another hack job for Pierre Morel who has been a hired gun for brainless action drivels ever since his success with "Taken".
Yemen has long been the battleground for the world's dirtiest and most ignored war and would deserve a serious effort to portray its tragedy.

Let me summarize
Take a warmongering B-grade Hollywood movie, replace the English-language-speaking cast with Arabic-speaking ones of Atab ethnicity, translate the script into Arabic and you get absolute trash like this. Sadly, the actors also left a lot to be desired. The command post and the script depicting the tension is a photocopy from any run-of-the-mill Hollywood flick. The one in charge of the command room acted as if he was forced to do so with a gun held on his head. The lady in the room looked so planted. Glorifying war has been a Hollywood disease for a long, it is sad to see that the same disease has infected middle eastern cinemas too, a region that has been suffering from war.
