Funny, but too overly chaotic and poorly written to fully enjoy

If you're a fan of the TV show, you'll like it. But there is a reason why the film does not contain the hype the series had. The film is very chaotic, unnecessarily extravagant, and not well written. The newly introduced characters hold no extra value, there's no logical reason behind any decision made by anyone in the movie, and the characters miss some of their best characteristics they had in the series. I still believe De Luizenmoeder is a great concept, but it's clear that it's made for 20 minute episodes and not full length features.

Also, in the trailer there is a brilliant joke about Geert Wilders that somehow is not in the film. Why??

Too slow. Not funny enough

The series was great. So incredibly funny.

At first, The movie is too slow. There's hardly a story but above all, it's not funny enough.

It's fun to see the see the characters again, but something is missing.

Luckily, after half an hour, there's a story after all and the movie improves.

Nit the lighthearted funny stuff like the series, but a solid movie with some messages.

Very Funny

This is an amazing movie to wacht for fun. It's not particularly a movie with a good plot but it definitely will give you some laughs.

Worthless compared to the Luizenmoeder series

As a fan of the Luizenmoeder serie I was really looking forward to this movie. BUT this movie is a lot of drama and not funny at all. It is not as realistic and funny as the series. The storyline is also weak. It is also a shame that one of the main funny characters (school director) is not in this movie.

Tone Deaf

Incredibly tone deaf, plays on racial stereotypes, Israel vs Palestine and homosexually to be a joke.

I understand if bigots enjoy this movie but movies like these are why discrimination and micro aggressions are still very much alive.

Strong movie, but has no connection to the series

The first season of De Luizenmoeder was an unexpected hit in The Netherlands. It was funny and pointed out all the good and bad of the parents and children, the showing off of parents on the schoolyard, being tricked into a playdate etc. The second season, in my opinion, was rushed, the subjects were good but the execution led a lot to be desired, bit of a letdown.

And then this movie comes out, has no connection to the series, 1/3 of the cast is not present anymore and the movie is not only a comedy, it had turned into an 1/3 comedy, 1/3 drama and 1/3 warning for the electronic future.

The scenery is very realistic, a new manager that says "we do it together" but that is, also in real life, almost never true. The new manager does not even listen to his subordinates, but finds them a burden. Electronics are forced for the sole reason that others also do it and you cannot stay behind or you will look foolish, no discussion is possible if it's helpful of devastating.

Fun but sometimes cringy

There were parts that just weren't funny, other than that the overall quality was good. Did have a few laughs!

the great reset

Nice indictment of the great reset. The parallels are obvious with what's going on right now and George Orwell's 1984. Hoping for the same happy end.

Completely different with the series.
