“We’ve got another script,” he told Vulture of his Mad Max plans. “But having been doing this long enough where I’m habituated to storytelling, I find myself with way too many stories — not only in my head, but in the form of screenplays or at least very detailed notes that are within reach of screenplays. I’m a professional daydreamer, really. This was seen as my big deficit as a kid: ‘George would do better at school if he didn’t daydream so much’ was on my report card.”

The Mad Max franchise nearly had a brilliant villain twist 44 years ago, and its next movie needs to finally do it properly. The next Mad Max movie, Mad Max: The Wasteland, had a very bumpy development. After Dune: Part Two dazzled audiences with its sci-fi action, movies like Monkey Man and The Fall Guy hit theaters, with the latter disappointing at the box office but faring well with critics and audiences.

The summer and fall saw the release of a handful of other notable titles in the action genre, including Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which was a hit, and Twisters, a well-received reboot of the 1996 classic. Wolfs also featured plenty of action, as did Ridley Scott's Gladiator 2. However, the failure of a few other critically acclaimed movies broke our hearts. Critics gave them a thumbs up and fans believed they were headed for a blockbuster. However, we later learned that these films fell far short of the required numbers.

Mad Max fans will soon be able to own the latest installment in the George Miller-helmed film franchise. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is heading to digital and physical media after a disappointing run in theaters.

Per ComingSoon.net, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has announced that Furiosa will be available to buy or rent on digital platforms beginning June 25, 2024. The Mad Max: Fury Road prequel will then be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on August 13, 2024. Warner Bros. also confirmed that a "Black & Chrome" edition of Furiosa will be released later this year, complete with an introduction from Miller. The director previously released a "Black & Chrome" version of Fury Road to critical acclaim. For those unfamiliar with the "Black & Chrome" editions, they present the Mad Max movies in visually stunning black-and-white instead of color.
