softcore with sci-fi aspirations

It's the near tomorrow. Michael White recently lost his wife Stephanie. He hires 4Ever Innovations to clone her and implant with her memories. Bethany Montrose is the new sales rep for the company. Colin Sommers is an executive. Dr. Penny Serling is the quirky head tech. Stephanie had actually invented a new chip to capture memories and was killed by her husband who is cheating with another woman. He is looking to steal the chip for himself. Bethany comes to Stephanie's rescue and Michael is killed. The clone with new name Julia White and the revolutionary chip joins 4Ever. Religious zealots are protesting their cloning work.

This is Cinemax trying to do softcore with a sci-fi story. As far as the softcore goes, the girls are pretty and they show off their bodies. There are the prerequisite sex scenes. It's not rocket science and it works as 00's softcore. The sci-fi aspiration is another matter. Apparently, this future company does it all. They do cloning, memory transplant, and advanced VR. The story is trying too much. I don't know who the writers are but I doubt that they've done anything more than porno. The basic metric is that half the time is taken up with sex scene and these half hour episodes have even less time for the plot. The premise needs to be simplified, not complicated. It could keep it just the cloning and that's plenty to digest in this format. As for the acting, the girl are pretty good ... for nude models and strippers. The wacky tech might be useful in a real show. I wouldn't ask most of them to do any real acting. I give them a point for higher aspiration even if they don't achieve it.

episode 2

A good quality series apparently due to the involvement of John Quinn who made quality soft core for Playboy. The problem with it is the same as when I have the occasion to see a John Quinn Playboy movie on cable/dish: the best part of the movie was left on the cutting room floor. This is pay cable "After Dark" not the Sci-fi Network, although it has always been a good subject for a soft X movie or series. Even though the standards now are little more tolerant of explicitness then they were in the past (internet), the nudity here seems rather sparse and over cautious. A rerun of the old episode "Love Street" on another network at about the same time seemed to be a hotter. These "After Dark" shows would be better if they uptight standards were relaxed a little and when they no longer gave one a sense of over editing of what is the shows strongest attraction.

so far so good

I personely at first was inconfortable whit the woman showing off the breast but for the past x years i aked myself why its wrong for woman in shows to show off there breast but its ok for man to show it off, i know for a afct woman get turn on looking at man chest so does man get turn on looking at woman chest so it should be ok but when they show the sex scene i thin there just tryng to fill up the empty space in this show, the acting its not great but hey there tv acor and actress and the special effect remind me of tv shows from the 90s but i kind of like it, make me rember the tv show ANdromeda witch the effect sucked but i still enjoyed that show and this show and what i love soo far its that they like 97% of the time did not show soo far and hopefully never a lesbian scene. its too bad it cutted short, would have liked to see more story and on the subjec of cloning because whit freidns we have been talking about its migh be a good idea to clone meat so we can eat whitotut killing a animal and cloning organes so pepol do not have to wait in hope someone else die and its the right match or die becuase theres is no match.
