Battle of Britain: The Race for the Radar

We all know the story of how the Royal Air Force (RAF) with the assistance of Radio Detection and Ranging (RADAR) foiled the Luftwaffe, (German: "air weapon.")

But it is the details that are fascinating. Who would have guessed that using old or existing technology would out smart people that were looking for new high-tech detectors and found none?

The story also includes a German spy dirigible that concluded that there were no radar stations because all they could detect was the national power grid.

The documentary goes on to tell all the mistakes and mistaken attitudes on both sides of the war. However, the bottom line is that Germans suspected but never proved that the Britons had working radar as they wore working on it themselves and getting no ware.

This is worth purchasing for watching again for the various details.
