The project was first planned to narrate the struggles of an aspiring filmmaker which on request by director Vetrri Maaran, later changed to be a cluster of short films depicting social issues.
Earlier directors were planning to name it "Sin Stories" but the Netflix team insisted on the Tamil title, hence it was finally named "Paava Kadhaigal"
