Romantic comedy-Drama '' Float '' is a romance with an underlying family drama to boot.
First of all, the story is too generic. Sure, there are some parts that are fairly enjoyable, however, there were a lot of others that just ruined the film.
The pace, for example, is all over the place, with the romance suffering the most. It robs it from the tension between the leads and leaves a lot off screen when it came to their relationship. That was evident in the ending, as the movie tried to create drama only to wrap things up awkwardly.
Also, there were a lot of plotlines that were left unexplored and suprficial, like the family drama of both leads.
Other than that, the performances were good enough from everyone.

Not like the books original storyline, its supposed to be an enemies to lovers type story but it looks like they fell in love at first sight. Im nitpicky with movies though.
Good even if the plot isnt the same.
The actors also look a little too old, they're 18 canonically.
I do love love stories, im a huge romance fan but this is a little baloney.... ive read the entire book and im a huge fan of it but seriously i cannot stress enough that the plot isnt the same. Waverly and blake dont meet the way they did in the movie, and blake doesnt have the same 'hatred' he was supposed to. He also lowkey seems a little white washed, he's supposed to be more tan.
But dont take my word for it. Just watch it yourself if you're curious about it.

A lovely drama romance interlaced for a brief summer time. The story is engagingly simple, the acting good overall and very good for Andrea Bang who played with tremendous charisma and showed awesome chemistry with Robbie Amell who seemed lost by that powerful romantic force and connection.
Definitely deserves the next installment 'Float - surfing under the sun'.

... there's lots to like about this well put together little romance movie... if had to nitpick about anything would be casting of what appears a mens underwear model as one of the leads, not he doesn't do a good acting job, he does.. it's just he's a bit outside the box as a hulky lifeguard in a small remote Canadian village, and appears without having too many-any lady-friends chasing after him
... and if you're thinking this location is just too perfect to be existing, you're correct... look up 'where-float-filmed' on TheCinemaholic website, it's interesting-informative
... this is a well scripted-acted-produced production... it is exactly what it's supposed to be, and for those don't find it at all entertaining, that's to their loss.

I don't know how they keep getting these Wattpad movies so wrong. There was barely any chemistry between the characters and the storyline just seemed so forced. I was almost done with the movie when I realised that nothing had really happened. I thought Blake was meant to be some bad boy lifeguard but he was nothing of the sort, and everything just seemed too cliche. I just don't get it, they ruined the After series by changing storylines and hiring bad actors/directors and now they've done the same here. Truthfully, it was quite boring. Nothing really hooked me and there was just no excitement. I know it's all down to personal opinion but this movie was just not it.
