Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys

Here's What's New on Netflix in June
Usually June is associated with the first real month of summer -- a time to go out and frolic through the wilderness like a snowman that doesn't know any better. "Trailer Park Boys" Sequel Crashes Onto DVD
"Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day" is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def.

The continuation of the low-budget, high-laugh Canadian comedy franchise was released today on home format by Alliance Films and Screen Media Films. The movie, highlighting the ongoing adventures of the title residents of Sunnyvale Trailer Park, comes complete with special features for further hilarity.

Picking up where the 2008 "Trailer Park Boys" TV special "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" left off, hapless criminals Ricky (Robb Wells), Julian (John Paul Tremblay) and Bubbles (Mike Smith) are released from jail after their latest series of shenanigans. But coming home isn't exactly an easy ride, as cat lover Bubbles fins his beloved kitties missing and taken in by an animal shelter with a steep fee required to get them back. Likewise, Ricky intends to finally pass his high school exams, and Julian makes plans for a new business...

Trailer Park Boys: Countdown To Liquor Day- September 25
As Sneak Peek first reported August 2008, Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day is the second Canadian produced, Halifax, Nova Scotia-lensed homegrown feature, based on the pseudo-doc comedy TV series Trailer Park Boys. Why Is This Man Sad?  The End Is Near For Canada’s Trailer Park Boys. *Updated*
[Updated with a clip from the farewell episode included below the break.]

It’s the end of what has become an unlikely Canadian icon: responding to multiple rumours and repeated questioning about the future of Canuck cult hit The Trailer Park Boys creator Mike Clattenburg says this on the blog of Canadian broadcaster - and producers - Showcase:

“We have a final one hour television special, “Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys”, which goes to air on Showcase on Sunday, December 7, 2008. Then after that, our sequel movie, “Countdown To Liqour Day” (working title), is due to be released in Canadian theatres in October, 2009. But, after that, there will be no more.”

It’s the end of the Trailer Park. We’ll miss it.
