Major Bore

This is absolutely preposterous.

Iused to like M. DeCoteau's a lot : back in the 80's, his TV movies (SKELETONS was a good one), LEATHER JACKET LOVE STORY was a good departure. And his formula-movies with guys in boxer shorts, well, some of them were interesting. The first BROTHERHOOD, the 4th installment was more ambitious, but I think i prefer THE FRIGHTENING best. That was... a decade ago, almost.

But here, there is nothing left. A bunch of half-naked dudes wandering in the woods. The thinnest plot possible, an extremely (+ long & stupid) first scene. And the guys just do.. nothing. First of all, they just can't act, so... You have to wait for the last 10 minutes to get the point of this story.

It is BORING. Just plain boring. It not even badly shot, but a giant bore. The fake blood on the screen is hilariously bad. No scares, no excitement. BROTHERHOOD V : ALUMNI was the pit. The 6th part has first of all nothing to do at all with the whole Brotherhood concept. It just exists to put guys in briefs on a screen. At some point, the director has to ask himself why on earth always shooting over and over and over and over the same scenes year after year after year? Ican think of the money thing (the director's gotta eat), but where is the creativity, the fun? Nowhere in sight anymore.

Conclusion : I'm actually a pi**ed-one DDC fan.

Poor

I've enjoyed David DeCoteau's films for years. Many have a had a great camp quality. Watching "Brotherhood VI" I can't help but think that Dave's in a terrible rut. This films plays like he's just not trying anymore. The script is poor. The plot is tired. Even DD's famous homoeroticism isn't what it was in better films. I can't imagine what film the above effusive commenter saw. It certainly wasn't this tired offering. The bar isn't and shouldn't be set very high for B movies, but it's not too much to ask that they at least be interesting, if only for the duration. This film has a very rushed quality to it, beyond the ordinary for the genre. I wish I could see something in it, but it just isn't there. Sorry Dave.

STUPID AND BAD DIRECTED

I would embarrassed being the director and the writer for this movie. It is bad edited, bad directed and bed written. It is so embarrassing

catastrophic

a film about nothing. blank piece of a puzzle. and waste of time. few nude boys in an isolated house. the usual murders. and the fake terror. nothing else. not story, not acting. only a kind of homosexual entertainment, not very inspired. a boring movie. for actors, for public. and sketch of good intentions because3 the desire of director is really ambiguous. a new title in filmography ? an occasion for young actors to have a role ? resurrection of Brotherhood name ? a not very inspired parody. all is confuse and nasty. but may be an accident. prepare for a real masterpiece. that is only explanation. and seed for better expectations about a teenager series with much success.

Excitement.

Is all I can really say about this title. Fantastic idea, IMPECCABLE casting and performances all make this a definite must-have for any movie collection. The Brotherhood VI: Initiation brings together all the stigmas you love from the horror genre and the fear and controversy surrounding fraternity initiation rituals into one harmonious melting pot that in no way undermines the art that is film making. With acting that makes you FEEL the victims' duress and a storyline with sheer intensity that is sure to keep you on edge even after the film has ended, The Brotherhood VI: Initiation is a thriller with the dynamics to shove it out of the "slasher" genre and into the "horror" section. If you are looking for a thoughtless, blood-filled film which gives you 90 minutes of overly macabre scenes while robbing you completely of a plot, this movie is not for you. But don't worry slasher seekers, Saw V was just released this weekend! The Brotherhood VI: Initiation is a personal favorite and is sure to leave the same impression on anybody who is smart enough to give it a shot. Brilliant work guys.
