Deadline reports that “Euphoria” actor Elizabeth Posey has joined the cast, while Variety reveals Posey is joined by “Blue Bloods” actor Will Hochman.

“Vought Rising” will also star Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who play Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively. The pair will also serve as producers on the upcoming series.

It marks the first effort from Kahuam Films, the newly launched Los Angeles-based production shingle of filmmaker Alex Kahuam.

Kahuam’s previous films — including the recent single-take thriller Failure starring Ted Raimi — were produced via his Mexico City company Promotora Nae, usually as US-Mexican co-productions.

The filmmaker has five genre projects in development, including a large-scale, high-concept supernatural horror pic set in different locations that he hopes to shoot in Europe.

The company has hired Disney’s Jennifer Rogers Doyle to oversee its television franchise business as series such as Cobra Kai, The Boys and Outlander continue to eye spinoffs.

Rogers Doyle has been named EVP, Franchise Management. Starting today, she will based on the studio’s Culver City lot and report to Sony Pictures Television Studios President Katherine Pope.

It comes as The Boys, which was renewed for a fifth and final season, has a number of spinoffs including Gen V, which was renewed for a second season, and animated anthology Diabolical; Outlander spinoff Blood of my Blood is set to arrive later this year on Starz and the team behind Cobra Kai are keen to tell a Mr. Miyagi spinoff.

"Look, I thinkThe Boys probably, for better or worse, is a political show at this point," he said. "I think season four was political. Not long after it was announced that Gen V Season 2 had officially wrapped filming, one of the show’s biggest breakout stars just secured a role in a major franchise. A new report from Deadline revealed that Asa Germann, known for playing Sam Riordan in the hit Prime Video series Gen V, has joined the cast of Scream 7 in a supporting role. Details about Germann’s character are being kept under wraps, as is the plot, but he joins Scream veteran Neve Campbell, who appeared in the debut Scream film in 1996 before reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in the 2022 sequel. Also tapped for roles in Scream 7 are Celeste O’Connor and Isabel May, the former of which has been formed to play Prescott’s daughter.

Gen V Season 2 wrapped production last month, and according to actor Sean Patrick Thomas, the entire season is one massive tribute to the late Chance Perdomo. Patrick Thomas plays the superhero Polarity in the incredibly popular The Boys spin-off series. Polarity worked high up at Vought, and wanted his son, Andre (Perdormo), to take over the mantel. Chance Perdomo died in 2023 following a motorcycle accident weeks before principal photography on Season 2 was scheduled to begin. The producers made the right decision not to recast the role, and re-wrote the season around Perdomo's death to honor the actor.

Speaking to TV Line, Patrick Thomas explained that Gen V Season 2 will honor Perdomo. The actor didn't want to reveal any major spoilers, but he first confirmed that he was returning as Polarity in the second season. "I don’t want to give too much away, but Polarity will be in Season 2," he began.

Sean Patrick Thomas, who plays Polarity in Gen V, confirms his return in season 2, which will also pay tribute to Chance Perdomo, who played his on-screen son Andre. Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident in March just before season 2's principal photography, which caused a temporary halt in the production of The Boys spinoff. With filming wrapping in November, Gen V season 2 is officially coming back in 2025.

In response to a reader's question, Thomas shared a few details with TVLine about Polarity's future in season 2. The Boys has spent several years satirizing the world of commercial gains, political underhandedness, and corporate greed, but as the series comes to an end and the universe of the franchise expands in new ways, creator Eric Kripke is terrified of turning the superhero drama into the very thing they have been ripping to shreds. Season 5 will bring The Boys to a close, but Gen V and Vought Rising will keep the flags flying for now. With other spinoffs potentially on the cards, there is a question of when enough is enough.

The highly anticipated second season of The Boys spin-off series just got an exciting update. On his personal Instagram account, Derek Luh, who plays Jordan Ti in the Prime Video spin-off series, confirmed that Gen V Season 2 has officially wrapped filming. The show began production earlier this summer and is on track for its planned 2025 release window, but no official date has been announced yet. Gen V tells the story of the kids at Godolkin University who are coming into their own and learning to become superheroes in this twisted world that treats them more like commodities than people. The first season of Gen V was a major success, earning a nearly flawless score of 97% from critics and 76% from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

Prime Video today released the official trailer and key art for The Sticky, a fast-paced, dark comedy series from Blumhouse Television, inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.

Gen V is the first spin-off TV show in The Boys universe and proved to be a hit with fans. Set at the superhero university, God U, the first season saw the young adult heroes reckon with their powers and uncover a deadly supe virus, which led to major character deaths in Season 4 of The Boys.

With Prime Video alternating season releases of Gen V and The Boys, Season 2 of the spin-off series is expected to come out before the release of the final season of The Boys.

That was the message from Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope on Wednesday during a keynote interview in Rome at the Italian confab Mia, in which she addressed everything from Season 5 of The Boys to calling for gaps between seasons to shrink.

Asked to apply her experience — which includes a decade at NBCUniversal, long before joining Sony more than two years ago — she said certain principles from the broadcast system could help inform a better way to produce in the future.

“There was a sense of time and money in the U.S. broadcast system,” she said. “You really had to get shows done. You did not have a choice. We’re now seeing the hangover of the boom times, and people will say they don’t know if they can do it for this amount of money or make the schedule.

“The Simpsons,” “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” “Expats,” “Lopez vs Lopez,” “Gen V,” “The Big Cigar” and “Dark Winds” have also been tapped to receive awards at the ceremony, which is set to take place Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills, California.
