Neil Gaiman's Ex-Wife Amanda Palmer Addresses Human Trafficking Allegations Amid New Lawsuit
Image
This story contains descriptions of alleged sexual assault.

Neil Gaiman is known for his work in the fantasy genre, as well as the person who inspired many successful big-screen or TV adaptations. However, the disgraced author is now surrounded with legal trouble.

In July 2024, several women came forward and accused Gaiman of sexual assault. Early this year, a detailed report further delved into the allegations as more women came forward and detailed their alleged interactions with the author. As his former nanny officially filed a lawsuit earlier this week, Gaiman's ex-wife, Amanda Palmer, who was named in the lawsuit, denied the allegation of human trafficking, per Deadline.

Neil Gaiman and wife Amanda Palmer sued for rape and human trafficking
Image
Seven months after Tortoise Media brought sexual abuse allegations against Neil Gaiman to light in July 2024, a formal lawsuit has finally been filed against the author. Variety reports that Scarlett Pavlovich, the New Zealand babysitter who claimed Gaiman sexually abused her within hours of their first meeting in 2020, is accusing the author of repeated rape. The suit also names Gaiman's wife, Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer, claiming she was aware of Gaiman's history of sexual misconduct. Both Gaiman and Palmer are being accused of human trafficking.

Pavlovich was the first woman whose story was featured on the Tortoise Media reports, but many horrifying new details of what she went through were revealed just last month in a deeply disturbing exposé in New York Magazine. She was hired by Palmer to watch her and Gaiman's young son in 2020, when Gaiman and Palmer were living in separate homes in New Zealand. Pavlovich...

This story contains descriptions of alleged sexual assault.

Author Neil Gaiman has officially been sued following disturbing allegations leveled against him. While Gaiman has insisted upon his innocence, the claims have been taken to the next level.

Per Deadline, Gaiman is getting taken to court for a lawsuit filed in federal court on Monday in Wisconsin by Scarlett Pavlovich, a former nanny of the Sandman creator. It's argued that Gaiman sexually abused Pavlovich, and it's also alleged in the complaint that he had help from his former partner, Amanda Palmer. The claim, which spans 28 pages, includes a detailed account of Gaiman's alleged sexual assault of Pavlovich. She is calling for a jury trial and seeking at least $1 million in damages.

Neil Gaiman Sued by Former Nanny Who Accused Him of Rape

Author Neil Gaiman and his estranged wife Amanda Palmer were sued in federal cases filed in New York, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts on Monday by their former nanny, who accused the author of rape and sexual assault. The suits also accused Palmer of “procuring and presenting the Plaintiff to Gaiman for such abuse.”

The suits from plaintiff Scarlett Pavlovich, which were obtained by Rolling Stone, follow a bombshell report from New York Magazine, where she and seven women claimed Gaiman had sexually assaulted, abused, and were forced into non-consensual sex.

After months of horrific allegations of sexual misconduct, The Sandman creator Neil Gaiman has been taken to court in a trio of states on allegations of rape, human trafficking and more by a former New Zealand nanny of his and musician Amanda Palmer’s son.

“This claim arises out of Defendant Neil Gaiman’s sexual abuse of Plaintiff, and his wife Amanda Palmer’s role in procuring and presenting Plaintiff to Gaiman for such abuse,” states a rape and human trafficking complaint filed in federal court Monday in Wisconsin by Scarlett Pavlovich. “Gaiman has a decades-long history of sexual misconduct consistent with the actions that will be described in the following paragraphs,” the 28-page nine claim action adds, with vivid detail including a sodomy rape of “slave” Pavlovich by Gaiman just three years ago.

Neil Gaiman at an event for Stardust, le mystère de l'étoile (2007)
The Sandman | Netflix show cancelled after two seasons
Neil Gaiman at an event for Stardust, le mystère de l'étoile (2007)
Allegations surrounding Neil Gaiman have led to The Sandman being cancelled at Netflix after two just seasons.

Netflix’s adaptation of the legendary comic book series The Sandman is to be cancelled after its upcoming second season. This was revealed when Netflix unveiled a new poster for the show. The original run of comic books certainly had enough material for The Sandman to run long past two seasons, but Netflix has decided to end the TV adaptation regardless.

According to Variety, the public fall from grace of series author Neil Gaiman actually has little to do with Netflix’s decision to end the show, with plans already in place to cancel it after two seasons. That was even before Gaiman’s public reputation was called into question (three words and a whole lot of understatement there).

There’s evidence to back this up too: the streamer didn’t immediately commission a follow-up to season one,...

Dark Horse Comics Drops Neil Gaiman, Cancels Upcoming Releases Following Abuse Allegations
Image
Dark Horse Comics will no longer publish the comic adaptations of Neil Gaiman’s works, including the author’s Anansi Boys series.

The publishing house cited the recent allegations of sexual abuse against Neil Gaiman as their reason behind the decision on Friday. New York Magazine published a cover story earlier this month detailing new claims of sexual assault and abuse from eight women. The report came several months after the July 2024 podcast Master, which reported on earlier graphic accusations by five women, four of which were among those cited by New York Mag.

Gaiman denied the claims through a representative and on his personal blog at the time, saying he had only engaged in “consensual encounters.” The Hollywood Reporter reached out to his reps for comment regarding Dark Horse’s announcement.

In the blog post, Gaiman added, “I also realise, looking through them, years later, that I could have...

Dark Horse Comics has dropped Neil Gaiman, cancelling his Anansi Boys comic series, in the wake of sexual assault allegations brought against the author.

Dark Horse Comics Drops Neil Gaiman After Sexual Assault Allegations, Cancels ‘Anansi Boys’ Comic Series
Image
Neil Gaiman has been dropped by Dark Horse Comics following a bombshell New York Magazine cover story in which several woman accused the “Sandman” and “Coraline” author of sexual assault.

In a post on X Friday night, the publisher wrote: “Dark Horse takes seriously the allegations against Neil Gaiman and we are no longer publishing his works. Confirming that the ‘Anansi Boys’ comic series and collected volume have been canceled.”

Gaiman denied the allegations brought forth in the Jan. 13 story, writing on his blog the next day: “I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever.” Representatives for Gaiman did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment regarding Dark Horse Comics’ statement.

Neil Gaiman Exits ‘Good Omens’ Production Role After Assault Allegations, Season 3 Will Only Be a 90-Minute Finale
Image
Neil Gaiman is (mostly) exiting “Good Omens” amid some bad press.

The series creator, showrunner, executive producer, and writer has stepped aside from the show’s third season, which paused its pre-production amid assault allegations against Gaiman, according to Deadline.

Prime Video today has announced that “Good Omens” will return for a feature-length series finale that will be produced without Gaiman’s involvement — though he did help write it.

“While Gaiman has contributed to the writing of the ‘Good Omens’ series finale, he will not be working on the production,” the official press statement reads.

“Good Omens” stars Michael Sheen as an angel and David Tennant as a demon Crowley. Frances McDormand, Jon Hamm, and Miranda Richardson co-star. The series is adapted from Gaiman’s novel “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch,” co-written with Terry Pratchett. Season 3 is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions,...

Good Omens Season 3 Reduced to One Episode Amid Neil Gaiman Allegations
Image
As Neil Gaiman's big and small screen projects hang in the balance following allegations of sexual assault against the author, Good Omens fans have been given some closure although it's not exactly what they were hoping for. Based on the novel co-written by Gaiman and the late, great Terry Pratchett, Good Omens follows the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and the demon Crowley's (David Tennant) unlikely friendship across millennia. When Crowley is tasked with looking after the son of Satan, who will bring about the end times, the reluctant demon accidentally loses him and the pair must race to recover the Antichrist.

Per Deadline, Good Omens will receive a send-off of sorts via a 90-minute final episode. The feature-length episode will stand in place of a full third season which was in the works at Prime Video. Production was halted on Season 3 following the ongoing allegations against Gaiman. The...

Good Omens to End With One Final Episode After Neil Gaiman Controversy
Image
A major update has been revealed on the third season of Good Omens on Prime Video. The fate of the show had been unclear following controversy involving original author Neil Gaiman.

Per Variety, Season 3 of Good Omens is moving forward, but it will only consist of a single episode. The season premiere/series finale will be an extended episode, however, spanning 90 minutes long. Production is slated to resume in Scotland in early 2025 following the season's filming getting paused. While Gaiman had served as a writer for the episode, he will not be involved with the rest of production, and his credit as an executive producer has also been removed for Season 3.

‘Good Omens’ Season 3 Reduced to 90-Minute Finale After Neil Gaiman Assault Scandal
Image
The third and final season of “Good Omens” is set to move forward at Prime Video after being paused following sexual assault allegations made against showrunner Neil Gaiman.

The final installment, which was previously announced back in December, will begin production in early 2025 and be reduced to one 90-minute episode starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant, who return as the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley, respectively.

It will also bring a serendipitous conversation from almost 35 years ago to life between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, where they mapped out what happens next to the characters in the world of their internationally best-selling novel, according to the streamer.

The finale will be executive produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions’ head of comedy Josh Cole and Narrativia’s Rob Wilkins, who represents Pratchett’s estate. While Gaiman has contributed to the writing of the finale, he will not be working on the production.

‘Good Omens’ Season 3 to Consist of One 90-Minute Episode, Neil Gaiman Not Involved in Production
Image
“Good Omens” Season 3 will be just one episode and will move forward without Neil Gaiman, Variety has learned.

It was previously announced that Season 3 of the Amazon Prime Video series, which is based on the book of the same name by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, would be the show’s last. However, production was paused on the third season in September after Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.

Now, Prime Video has confirmed that Season 3 will consist of one 90-minute episode, with production expected to resume in early 2025 in Scotland. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Gaiman had contributed to the writing of the series finale, but he will not be working on the show once production resumes. He is also no longer listed among the show’s executive producers for the final episode.

Neil Gaiman Offers To Exit Good Omens Season 3 Amid Allegations
Image
Prime Video's Good Omens is headed for its third and final season on the Amazon streamer, but a very personal matter is holding back production. Neil Gaiman, the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the series, has been accused of sexual assault and abuse by numerous women. Due to those allegations, Amazon has paused pre-production on Season 3, but Gaiman has made an offer that could allow Good Omens to get its final run on the platform.

Good Omens

Per Deadline, Gaiman made an offer to take a step back from the final season of the Prime Video series so that production on Season 3 of Good Omens can resume. While this might sound like an admission of some guilt on Gaiman's part regarding the sexual assault allegations, that is not the case, and he continues to deny all the accusations made against him. Neil Gaiman offers to step back from Good Omens so production can continue on season 3
Image
Over the last few months, iconic author Neil Gaiman — the man behind works like The Sandman and American Gods — has been accused of “non-consensual sex” and “sexual assault” by five women. Tortoise Media ran a story on two of them back in July. Later that month, another came forward on the Am I Broken: Survivor Stories podcast. And at the beginning of August, two more came forward on Tortoise Media's podcast.

Gaiman is an incredibly influential author who had several shows and movies based on his books and comics either in the works or already airing. Disney has now canceled a planned movie adaptation of his novel The Graveyard Book, and Amazon Prime Video has put the third and final season of Good Omens — an extension of the book of the same name Gaiman co-wrote with the late Terry Pratchett — on hold.

Neil Gaiman Offers To Step Back From ‘Good Omens’ Season 3
Image
Exclusive: Neil Gaiman is understood to have offered to step back from the third and final season of Prime Video’s fantasy drama Good Omens.

Deadline revealed on Monday that pre-production had paused on the BBC Studios-produced show in the wake of allegations made by four women against Gaiman, which he denies. This came after Disney’s planned feature adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 YA title The Graveyard Book also was put on pause.

Now, we understand that Gaiman has made an offer to Amazon and producers to take a back seat on the latest season so that it can continue amid crisis talks over the Terry Pratchett adaptation’s future. Deadline understands Gaiman’s offer is not an admission of wrongdoing following a podcast from Tortoise Media that chronicled accounts of two women, with whom he was in consensual relationships, who accused him of sexual assault. Another two have since come forward.

Amazon suspends production on Good Omens season 3 due to Neil Gaiman allegations
Image
Last week, it was revealed that Disney had paused its live-action adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book following the revelation that multiple women had accused the author of sexual assault. And now, in the same vein, Amazon Prime Video has hit the pause button on the third and final season of Good Omens.

The British author, 63, has faced several allegations of “non-consensual sex” and “sexual assault” in the last few months. In a July report from Tortoise Media, Gaiman was accused of sexually assaulting a then-20-year-old woman, who he'd met at the age of 18 at one of his book signings in 2003, and later a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett in 2022. In late July, another woman came forward on the Am I Broken: Survivor Stories podcast who claimed Gaiman had sexually assaulted her in 2012. Then at the beginning of August, two more women came forward on Tortoise Media's podcast.

Production Halted on ‘Good Omens’ Season 3 Amid Uncertainty
Good Omens (2019)
The release of the third and final season of the Prime Video series “Good Omens” has hit a snag. Filming on Season 3 was scheduled to begin in Scotland in early 2025 but is now on pause. This delay comes amid recent controversies surrounding the show’s creator, Neil Gaiman.

Prime Video remains in discussions about potential adjustments to the production. Sources say the streaming service has yet to comment publicly on the situation. However, the hold comes after Gaiman faced sexual assault accusations, which he denies.

Other projects from Gaiman across Netflix and Disney have also faced setbacks. Netflix canceled the “Sandman” spinoff “Deadboy Detectives” last year. Disney postponed plans to adapt Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” novel as well.

Fans of “Good Omens” may be especially disappointed by this news. Season 2 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger that left viewers eager to see how the dynamic between angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley resolved.

Good Omens premiered on Prime Video on May 31, 2019, and was adapted from the 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch which was written as a collaboration between authors Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Season 2 premiered on July 28, 2023, and in December of that year, it was confirmed the series would return to Prime Video for a third and final season. Yet in July 2023, multiple sexual assault allegations were leveled against Neil Gaiman, and the fallout has been present across various platforms.

According to Deadline, production on Good Omens final season, which is currently filming in Scottland, has paused. While no reason was given for the production pause, Deadline reports that there are discussions about possible production changes. These changes could be centered on the involvement of Gaiman, who served as the showrunner,...

‘Good Omens’ Halts Production After Neil Gaiman Assault Allegations Surface
Image
“Good Omens” has halted production on its third and final season, according to media reports.

The pause on the Prime Video fantasy series, which had been filming in Scotland, comes amid sexual assault allegations against author Neil Gaiman, which he has vehemently denied.

As filming takes a beat, “Good Omens” might undergo some production changes, per Deadline, who first reported the news. Representatives for Prime Video declined TheWrap’s request for comment.

Last week, Disney similarly put an adaptation of Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” — which had Marc Forster attached to direct — on pause amid news of the allegations, according to a report from IndieWire. In August, Netflix announced that it didn’t opt to renew “Dead Boy Detectives,” which is based off of Gaiman’s comics, for a second season.

Allegations against Gaiman, who is behind modern classics like “American Gods,” “Coraline,” “Neverwhere” and “Stardust,” surfaced in July, when...

‘Good Omens’ Final Season Suspends Production Following Neil Gaiman Assault Allegations
Image
Prime Video has halted production on the final season of “Good Omens.” The decision comes two months after series creator and showrunner Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault by several women.

The series, which stars Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel-and-demon duo, was preparing to shoot in Scotland before the streamer elected to pause the production to consider changes. Amazon declined to comment.

Adapted from the 1990 novel that Gaiman co-authored with Terry Pratchett, “Good Omens” is the latest Gaiman adaptation to lose momentum as the author faces allegations of sexual assault. Last week, it was reported that “The Graveyard Book,” a feature adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 novel with Marc Forster attached to direct, had paused development at Disney.

In a July report by Tortoise Media, Gaiman was accused of sexually assaulting a then-18-year-old woman (referred to as K) in 2003, and a 23-year-old woman named Scarlett in...

Good Omens season 3 production paused following Neil Gaiman allegations
Image
Production on the third and final season of Good Omens has been underway in Scotland, but Deadline reports that it’s been put on pause. Uh oh. The reason for the pause isn’t clear, but Deadline has heard that there are “discussions about possible production changes.” It’s speculated that this pause is related to the sexual assault allegations made against Good Omens co-creator Neil Gaiman by several women earlier this summer.

The allegations were made in a podcast series released by Tortoise Media titled Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman. Some of the allegations go back decades, with the woman accusing Gaiman of “rough, degrading” sex that was not always consensual. Gaiman has denied the allegations, saying he was “disturbed” by them. Disney also paused a feature film adaptation of Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book earlier this week.

Good Omens Season 3 Gets Unfortunate Update Amid Neil Gaiman Drama
Image
Fans waiting for the final season of Good Omens have gotten an unfortunate update on Season 3. Reportedly, production on the season has been paused amid production in Scotland, leaving the future of the show unclear.

Per Deadline, production has been put on pause while there are "discussions about possible production changes." What these changes might be in particular are not clear, as an Amazon spokesperson would not comment on the report. The report follows the recent news that Disney had shelved a planned adaptation of Neil Gaiman's 2008 title The Graveyard Book, but in that case, it was noted that the film could still potentially go back into production in the future. With Good Omens, the series is only said to be paused at this point, though some fans may still have concerns that the season could end up getting completely canceled.

News about the future of Good Omen comes less than a week after Disney put a planned feature adaptation of Gaiman’s 2008 YA title The Graveyard Book on pause amid a series of sexual assault allegations against the award-winning author. This summer, the U.K.-based Tortoise Media released the podcast Master: the Allegations Against Neil Gaiman that chronicled the accounts of four women.

In December, Good Omen was renewed for a third and final season with Gaiman continuing to serve as executive producer, writer, and showrunner. Michael Sheen is returning as Aziraphale,...

Disney pauses The Graveyard Book adaptation amid Neil Gaiman allegations
Image
In recent years, Neil Gaiman has seen many of his beloved works become outstanding TV shows, from The Sandman and Dead Boy Detectives to Good Omens and American Gods. His name is ubiquitous in the fantasy space, but amid numerous sexual assault allegations, adaptations of his works are starting to be affected. Notably, Disney has paused its live-action adaptation of The Graveyard Book.

The Graveyard Book follows Nobody "Bod," a young boy who seeks refuge in a graveyard after his parents are murdered. He meets ghosts who become his new family and he grows up in the graveyard. The book shares a striking resemblance to Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book...except with ghosts instead of jungle animals.

Disney's adaptation of The Graveyard Book was announced in 2022. Marc Forster was on board to direct the movie, with David Magee penning the script. Neil Gaiman himself was never directly involved. When the project was announced,...

Disney Pauses Production of Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’ Over Author’s Sexual Harassment Accusations
Image
As far as modern fantasy works are concerned, Neil Gaiman is definitely one of the biggest names in the genre. He is a novelist, a short story writer, and a comic book author whose works like The Sandman, Good Omens, and others, are popular around the world and have been made into popular adaptations as well.

And while Gaiman’s career has been on an upward trajectory, a series of recent accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct have seemingly caused some issues for the author. And while Gaiman has vehemently denied these accusations, it seems that the consequences are here and will probably remain until the whole situation is cleared.

In light of that, the media are reporting that Disney has paused the production of Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, a very popular young adult novel that was supposed to be adapted by the House of the Mouse. Keep reading...

Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book Adaptation in Doubt Following Halt in Production at Disney
Image
Disney has now halted development on the upcoming movie adaptation of the young adult novel The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. The decision comes following the recent allegations of sexual assault that were recently made against Gaiman, with insiders telling IndieWire that the movie has not been scrapped but multiple factors, including the allegations, contributed to putting it on hold. Director Marc Forster, who is best known for the likes of Quantum of Solace, Monster's Ball, World War Z, and Christopher Robin, was attached to direct the project. No cast had yet been announced, and Neil Gaiman had no involvement in the adaptation. However, it seems that having his name attached was reason enough to put the project on pause.

Published in 2008, The Graveyard Book tells the story of Bod, a boy who lives in a graveyard and is raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs...

Neil Gaiman at an event for Stardust, le mystère de l'étoile (2007)
Disney has put development of a movie based on Neil Gaiman’s 2008 novel “The Graveyard Book” on hold because of sexual misconduct accusations against the author. Several women have accused Gaiman of engaging in nonconsensual or abusive sexual acts with them in recent months.

The fantasy novel, which tells the story of a boy raised by supernatural beings after his family is killed, was set to be adapted for film by director Marc Forster. But the project is now paused as Disney examines the allegations against Gaiman. An inside source said “multiple factors, including the allegations, contributed to putting it on hold.”

The claims first emerged in a podcast series called “Master: the Allegations Against Neil Gaiman” in July. Two former partners of Gaiman said he had rough and degrading sex without full consent. Gaiman denied these initial accusations, saying he was disturbed by them.

However, more women later came...

The Graveyard Book movie now on hold, following Neil Gaiman allegations
Neil Gaiman at an event for Stardust, le mystère de l'étoile (2007)
Disney has put the brakes on a planned movie of Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, following allegations made against the author.

Plans for a film based on Neil Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book have been put firmly on hold, as the author faces sexual assault allegations. Gaiman has strongly denied the allegations, which have come from two women and were reported here.

In the last year or two, it looked as if Disney was going to push ahead with a screen adaptation of Gaiman’s The Graveyard Book, a title first published back in 2008. At one stage, this was set to be a story that the brilliant Henry Selick was looking to bring to the screen, but that turned out not to be. However, in 2022 it looked like the film had found a way forward when Marc Forster was revealed to be directing, and David Magee penning the screenplay.

Disney Halts Neil Gaiman Adaptation After Assault Allegations
Image
Production on The Graveyard Book, a feature film based on a Neil Gaiman story that was in development at Disney, has been indefinitely postponed. The news follows serious allegations of misconduct made against Gaiman.

Previously, it had been reported that Gaiman had been accused of sexual assault. IndieWire now reports that Disney has shelved The Graveyard Book, but it was also noted that the allegations were just one factor in the decision to pause the project. Notably, the movie hasn't been outright canceled and could potentially go back into production at some point in the future. While there may have been other factors that led to the movie getting paused, it seems likely that Disney won't move forward with the project until seeing how the situation with Gaiman ultimately plays out.

Disney’s Pauses Production on Neil Gaiman Adaptation ‘The Graveyard Book’ After Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Image
Disney has paused production on “The Graveyard Book” following allegations of sexual assault against Neil Gaiman, author of the 2008 book by the same name.

Indiewire first reported the news.

Representatives for Disney didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap. But according to Deadline, the accusations are only part of the reason the project is on hold.

“The Graveyard Book” was only in development and has not been tossed out entirely. Marc Forrester is signed on to direct but no cast have been hired.

In a four-part podcast series by Tortoise published in July, two women accused Gaiman of assaulting them while they were in consensual relationships with the author.

Scarlett, who is 23, claimed Gaiman sexually assaulted her in 2022 soon after he hired her as a nanny for his child. She accused Gaiman of having engaged in “rough and degrading penetrative sexual acts with her” and supplied Tortoise with “contemporaneous messages,...

Neil Gaiman Pic ‘The Graveyard Book’ On Pause At Disney Amid Sexual Assault Allegations Against Author
Image
Amid a recent series of sexual assault allegations against award-winning author Neil Gaiman, Disney has put a planned feature adaptation of his 2008 YA title The Graveyard Book on pause, Deadline can confirm.

Reps for the studio declined comment.

We’re told that there were a number of factors behind the decision to push pause on the film, the allegations against Gaiman — which the author has denied — being only one of them. Among the first accusers to come forward against Gaiman, in reporting from the U.K.-based Tortoise Media, was Scarlett, who alleged that the author sexually assaulted her in New Zealand in February 2022, while she was working as a nanny to his child. Another, K, said that after meeting Gaiman at a Florida book signing in 2003, aged 18, she was submitted to rough sex with him — amid an otherwise consensual relationship — which she “neither wanted nor enjoyed.”

Don’t expect...
