For the Love of Jason (2020)

For the Love of Jason

1/10

The Disrespect of Black Women Must Stop

This show may turn out to be a good start to AMCs Black affiliate the former UMC now AllBlk. What a great rollout during Black History Month 2021. However in s1e1 there was a scene of disrespect to a black woman that I cannot & will not overlook. In one of the reception scenes lead character "Jason" (Trell Woodbery) was introduced to what the "industry" would label a plus size woman. To me she looked like the every day woman. She was dressed beautifully, had a fantastic smile and appeared for all intents and purposes a nice young lady. As soon as they were introduced "Jason" immediately and disrespectfully made an excuse and walked off. Later both he and his friends referred to her as #BUSTED! Why? The only thing he knew about her was her face & her shape. Did he even hear her voice? By the way, Trell Woodbery wrote this episode as well, so he has to accept full responsibility for this. However AMC & AllBlk owe us an apology as well. Being plus size does not make women #Busted. And AllBlk should be the last place women of color at any size should feel less than or have to face this level of disrespect. But this is why others feel it's okay to disregard our feelings and therefore our dollars. Ladies it's time to hold everyone accountable Period Point Blank. I may continue to watched the entire series but this turned me off. #LalaWatchedWhat... Real Reviews for Real People by Real People s1e1 🔥
