The season 3 finale of Invincible hit last Thursday, and with no new episode today, Prime Video and creator Robert Kirkman are already teasing what fans can expect from the officially in-development fourth season.
Mark Grayson very nearly met his end at the hands of the bloodthirsty (even for a Viltrumite) villain known as Conquest, but he's going to come up against an even tougher opponent in season 4: Grand Regent Thragg.
There are a number of incredibly powerful characters in the world of Invincible, but a lot of fans would consider Thragg to be at least among the most formidable. We don't know who will voice the character in the show, but Kirkman has confirmed that he has been cast.
"I mean, it would certainly be weird if [Thragg] didn't show up in the show. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. It's so tough. Here's what I'll say: he's been cast,...

Fantasy is one of the most creative genres in fiction. From the supernatural to the post-apocalyptic, fantasy covers many subgenres that explore stories outside the bounds of reality. However, it has evolved significantly over the years, and while there are common genre tropes, plenty of new fantasy series break the mod.
Although fantasy was once most at home in the cinema, streaming television has breathed new life into the genre. Special effects technology has finally become practical enough that creators can bring to life entirely new worlds on the small screen, even on a TV budget. Since 2020, shows like The Legend of Vox Machina, House of the Dragon, and One Piece have brought fantasy to new heights and refined the genre for modern television audiences.

Children's entertainment has occupied a special place in television since the early Saturday morning cartoons of the 1930s. Beginning with classic Disney and Looney Tunes characters, almost a century later, children's television has earned a reputation for fun, escapist, and wholesome storytelling. Recent decades have also seen the rise of more mature kids' TV series, some of which have maintained the love of audiences well into adulthood.
Kids' shows can range from all-ages cartoon sitcoms to superhero stories, encompassing some of the most iconic franchises in media. Thanks to a combination of quality and nostalgia, many of these series transcend generations and genres, standing out as some of the best shows on television. From its bright, engaging characters to its timeless, enjoyable fun, children's entertainment has something to love for everyone.

Trust “Severance” fans to leave no stone unturned.
Ahead of Season 2, Episode 9, “The After Hours,” eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the latest installment of Dan Erickson’s Apple TV+ thriller shares its name with a chapter of “The Twilight Zone” from 1960. TV episodes have the same names all the time, not least due to their sheer volume in existence and common phrases that repeat (Season 1’s “Hide and Seek” shares its title with episodes from “Adventure Time” and “Bluey”) — but something as integral to sci-fi television as “The Twilight Zone” merits further exploration.
“The Twilight Zone” Season 1, Episode 34 stars Anne Francis as Marsha White, a woman searching a department store for a gold thimble when she starts to experience eerie things on its ninth floor. The entire area is deserted and empty of merchandise, except for exactly what she needs. The woman who helps her turns out to be be a mannequin.

The season 3 finale of Invincible is now streaming on Prime Video, and following one of the most hellacious battles we've seen since the animated series premiered back in 2021, we took a trip to literal Hell for a post-credits scene that not even fans of the comic will have been expecting.
In the stinger, demonic detective Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown) - who we haven't seen since Cecil banished him back in the first season - summons a more powerful demon voiced by Evil Dead legend Bruce Campbell, and tells him about a "surface dweller" who may be able to restore his master to his former glory.
This sets up a season 4 storyline that didn't play out on the page, and could potentially see Mark Grayson journey to Hell to battle the Devil himself.

Invincible wrapped up its third season in typically violent fashion, with almost the entire episode dedicated to a vicious brawl between Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) and a particularly powerful and bloodthirsty Viltrumite known as Conquest.
After almost 30 minutes of brutal battle, Mark is finally able to defeat his foe with some help from his brother Oliver (Christian Convery) and Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs). Invincible allows his Viltrumite side to manifest, smashing Conquest's skull in with his own head.
The villain certainly looks dead, but we then learn that Cecil (Walton Goggins) has preserved "the body" so he can be questioned about the movements of the Viltrum Empire.
"I think a Cecil interrogating Conquest scene, with Walton Goggins and Jeffrey Dean Morgan going head-to-head, that'd be a pretty cool, intense scene," creator Robert Kirkman tells EW. "But to put it more succinctly, I don't think Cecil would've gone to all the...

The season 3 finale of Invincible hits Prime Video this Thursday, and IGN has released a clip from the opening scene.
Last week's penultimate episode concluded with the arrival of a powerful and bloodthirsty (not exactly unusual for this race) Viltrumite known as Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who was appalled to see that Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) had not set about paving the way for the Viltrum invasion.
In this clip, Conquest makes it very clear that he has no intention of attempting to convince Mark that surrender is the best course of action for the people of Earth, as to him, "there is no greater pleasure than to feel the warmth of my fists drenched in blood."
"I was just thrilled to get to be a part of it and give Steven his chance at redemption," Morgan told EW in a recent interview "I was trying to be aware of just voice inflection.

The penultimate season 3 episode of Invincible is now streaming on Prime Video, and "What Have I Done?" adapts a major event from the comics: The Invincible War.
In the episode, a very-much-alive Angstrom Levy sends eighteen variants of Mark Grayson to Earth with strict instructions to reduce the planet to rubble and inflict as much pain and suffering on our hero as possible.
The death toll is catastrophic, and we lose a main character when Rex Splode sacrifices himself by charging up his own skeleton to destroy one of the Invincibles. Mark is ultimately able to defeat Levy - who had teleported the remaining variants away when they turned on him - but is left utterly devastated, blaming himself for the death and destruction all around him.

The film opens with Saira set on a mission to retrieve Kiki after a painful parting, presenting what begins as a straightforward tale of lost love. The narrative quickly shifts as Saira confronts a crisis involving the theft of a potent weapon, the labrys, and a pressing 24-hour limit. This setup transforms the romance into a daring quest that pulls inspiration from diverse storytelling traditions, particularly those found in Eastern animated features and queer pop narratives.

Animation has come a long way since its inception. The meticulous hand-drawn frames of yore have given way to digital techniques, and things like ink and paint have been replaced by Cintiq art tablets. However, one thing has remained the same: every animated work draws inspiration from something else.
Today, there are more remarkable animated shows to see than ever before. Disney and Hanna-Barbera no longer control the narrative. Now, audiences can find something to pique any interest. Shows like Amphibia and The Owl House appeal to the whimsical whims of fantasy fans. Anyone with an itch for something more mysterious can turn to Infinity Train and Gravity Falls. For comedy, Chowder and Regular Show are always available. All these shows seem wildly different, but they’re all connected to the same source. Elongated noses, like wrinkly pickles or deflated balloons, protrude from the faces of the comically offbeat characters in the zany, rambling and historically relevant animated documentary “Endless Cookie” from animator Seth Scriver, a white man, and his half-brother Peter, who is an Indigenous person from the Shamattawa First Nations in northern Canada. Pete’s memories, which illustrate the intricacies of Indigenous life in Canada, are the foundation of this personal family scrapbook of a film.
As Pete recalls events that happened to him, to people around him or to relatives, the intimate reminiscences meet the macro, touching on the impact of residential schools, land claims by greedy companies and the disproportionate incarceration of First Nations individuals. On occasion, he speaks a few words or phrases in the Cree language and addresses the spirituality of his people.

Cartoon Network has a long history of offering just as many huge disappointments as hit shows. While some cartoons like Adventure Time and Clarence were controversial, they developed a strong fanbase and received many positive reviews. On the other hand, some shows failed to impress most viewers due to weak premises, uninteresting plots, and sometimes simply annoying characters.
From the incredibly disappointing Teen Titans Go! reboot to the ridiculous premise of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, some Cartoon Network shows divided fans. Cartoon Network is responsible for some of the best 1990s cartoons period, but the network's reign of dominance didn't end with the turn of a new millennium. The channel had plenty of holdovers from the previous decade, but more excitingly, it introduced plenty of other great animated series for kids of all ages to enjoy.
There were absolutely cartoons that dabbled in standalone episodes where you could tune in any week and know what's going on. Courage had new monsters to face while Johnny Bravo was getting himself into all sorts of ridiculous mishaps. However, Cartoon Network also began dabbling with more long-form storytelling. Kids could also watch "Justice League" and partake in a more serious superhero story about governmental overreach. There was something for every palate whether you wanted silly jokes or more high-octane action.
Anyone who says animation peaked in the '90s needs a reality check. Here...

With 283 episodes and an eight-year run, Adventure Time is one of Cartoon Network's longest-running shows — and the adventures of Finn the Human and Jake the Dog remain memorable, even seven years after its finale. Of course, the fact that Adventure Time remains such an iconic animated series raises questions about why it ended after season 10 (and whether it was canceled). From the show's 2010 debut, it was clear there was something special about it, from its complex and entertaining characters to its balance of poignant lessons and outlandish humor.
Characters like Finn, Jake, and even Bmo are still recognizable today, mostly because of how influential Adventure Time was while it was on air. The series won numerous Primetime Emmys, a Peabody Award, and other accolades, and it proved a successful addition to Cartoon Network's lineup in terms of ratings, even if its later seasons weren't as strong as the earlier ones.

The world of animation opens up the minds of younger generations. Television and films like these humorously explore different themes and scenarios. But many times, these stories aren't just for children. Even when cartoons aren't specifically created with adults in mind, such as Adult Swim shows like Rick and Morty, some animated series have creatively created more risqué content.
Cartoon Network has a history of sneaking in suggestive dialogue that would go over any child's head but may delight parents. Series such as The Powerpuff Girls and Adventure Time aren't just for juveniles. Some jokes would be lost on the younger generations.

Adventure Time is returning with a brand-new comic series this year, which will bring readers back to the land of Ooo for an entirely new set of tales starring the franchise's beloved characters. The series carved out a niche for itself in popular culture, and it is exciting that the comic medium is where it will craft the next chapter of its legacy.
As announced by Polygon, Adventure Time – written and illustrated by a rotating roster of creators – returns with a new monthly ongoing series from Oni Press, starting with an arc entitled "Best of Buds." The comic will continue the adventures of Finn and Jake, following the 2018 conclusion of the TV series, and the previous comic incarnation.
Beyond that, details are scarce, but given how grand Adventure Time lore, and the land of Ooo, are, anything is possible for this new series – and fans of the franchise will be...

The main protagonists of anime rarely have living or present parental figures, like Eren Yeager’s father, Grisha, or Naruto’s father, Minato. It’s become a noticeable trend that these characters’ tragic stories stem from their parents, either by the loss, abuse, or neglect they faced.
Some of these protagonists go on to become parents themselves and because of the significant lack of parental figures don’t know how to be one. A prime example is Goku. He wasn’t raised by his parents and thus, became a rather absent one for Gohan and Goten.

Dandadan and Natusme's Book of Friends are both anime that feature yokai and psychic powers. They have drastically different tones and themes that separate them from each other, but there are intentional aspects of both series that stand out. One of the tools both of them use is subversion, even if it can be to different ends. The biggest thing they have in common, though, is how they treat their mascot characters. Turbo Granny starts out as an antagonist and catalyst in the story, only to get sealed in a lucky cat statue. From then on, she joins the supporting cast. Nyanko-sensei (Master Kitty Cat) is a powerful yokai who was sealed in a lucky cat statue for years until Takashi Natsume freed him. He's the second protagonist in the story, and he usually uses his lucky cat form out of habit.
Both of these characters are irresponsible, and arguably inappropriate for their teenage counterparts.

Futurama's Bender and Adventure Time's Jake are mashed together in a new piece of John Dimaggio character crossover art. Futurama precedes Adventure Time by about 11 years, premiering in 1999 and following pizza delivery driver Philip J. Fry (Billy West), with Dimaggio's Bender, a foul-mouthed robot, playing an important role in just about every episode. Adventure Time, on the other hand, didn't premiere until 2010, with that animated sitcom following a 12-year-old boy as he goes on various adventures with his wise dog, Jake.
@bornreadydesigns on Instagram now combines Bender from Futurama and Jake from Adventure Time into one character. The art features key aspects of Bender, including the metallic coating and limb design, with Jake's dog-like face. The caption for the image jokes that this new hybrid character could be called either "Bender the dog" or "Jake the robot." Check out the art below:

Few TV formats are as timeless as the humble cartoon, which presents a medium that could easily stretch out to infinity if given the proper circumstances. Compared to live-action media, cartoons have a certain irreverent quality; The characters in animated shows are able to exist in perpetuity far beyond the original actors portraying them. Some of the longest-running animated series have begun to stress-test the notion that some cartoons could simply go on forever.
There are several factors that can give certain cartoons a believable chance at going on indefinitely. Strong characters with unique voices that can survive across multiple actors, a proven formula for standard episodes, and an irreverent setting that can evolve with the march of time all make for strong candidates for the coveted ideal of an eternal cartoon. While the quality of these animated shows may be up for debate, their ubiquity and pop culture staying power are impossible to deny.

A surreal, genre-bending fantasy about a boy and his shape-shifting dog going on adventures through an endlessly imaginative magical world, Adventure Time has always excelled at blending the boundaries between kid and adult-oriented media, combining trailblazing artistic expressiveness with carefree, childlike joys of unrestricted imagination. Over its eight-year run, Adventure Time established itself as a classic with a devoted fanbase. Yet, the show’s affinity for experimentation and innovation prevented it from ever going stale, and the series' creators were always eager to push the envelope - oftentimes by bringing in unusual outside influences and collaborating with artists from across the globe.
One such collaborative effort was the Season 6, Episode 7 of Adventure Time titled Food Chain - a sequence unique even by the show’s high standards that was created by then little-known Japanese studio Science Saru. One of the most notable anime adaptations of 2024, Dandadan is an explosive, genre-bending shonen adventure that will, without a doubt, go down in history as a modern classic. Produced by studio Science Saru and based on the original manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dandadan tells a riveting story that blends science fiction with the occult, romance with high-octane action, and comedy with poignant character drama. Adapting such a kinetic narrative to screen is no easy task. Yet, the Science Saru team did wonders in capturing the unorthodox appeal of Dandadan in their adaptation, elevating the chaotic tale of Momo and Okarun’s adventures to a new level. The individual creators that make up Dandadan’s production team are to credit for the anime’s astounding quality - one of them being renowned anime screenwriter Hiroshi Seko.

Cartoon Network has produced some of the most iconic animated series on TV, but there are plenty of shows in the network's catalog that audiences have forgotten existed. Few would doubt the impact Cartoon Network had on entertainment or how innovative the channel was in developing original programming. Yet, whether they aired on Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, DC Nation, or Toonami, countless shows slipped through the cracks but still helped shape the network’s unique identity as a cultural touchstone.
Cartoon Network (also known as Cn) first debuted in 1992, after being founded by Betty Cohen and Ted Turner. There have been so many iconic shows that have defined Cartoon Network over the last three decades, like Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls, Chowder, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Adventure Time – just to name a few. However, in terms of action series, there is no name as beloved on the network as Totally Spies. The French show originally ran for six seasons, from 2001 to 2015, but hasn't had a new season in over a decade. That changes soon, as Totally Spies Season 7 has found a new home stateside for 2025.

One of Cartoon Network’s nostalgic programming blocks, Toonami Rewind has been officially canceled, marking the end of its Friday evening showcase of classic Toonami hits Sailor Moon, Naruto, and Dragon Ball Z. Running from 5 to 7 p.m. Et/Pt, Toonami Rewind was beloved for reintroducing viewers to iconic anime series that helped define the original Toonami era. However, the Friday block will now be replaced by Checkered Past, a new lineup focusing on vintage Cartoon Network originals that will run during the same time slot Monday through Thursday, with an additional segment taking over Friday evenings.

In the West, the 2010s are seen as a second golden age of television animation, comparable to the 1990s and early 2000s. From kids' shows to adult animation, cartoons were produced that prioritized strong character writing and hilarious jokes while also taking important steps towards improved representation. Some of the biggest names from this era included Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Bob's Burgers, and Rick and Morty.

Cartoon Network has many hit shows, but among the most popular are the Regular Show and Adventure Time. Conversations about which of these two shows is better are regularly contested — with both shows having their own merits. This is mostly because they are two of the most innovative and creative pieces of television in recent years, especially in a crowded animation industry. Adventure Time is among the TV shows that saw huge jumps in animation quality, whereas Cartoon Network's Regular Show won a Primetime Emmy for an outstanding short form animated program.
There are numerous factors influencing the best Cartoon Network shows. In terms of comedy, characters, and story, each of these elements should be taken into account. Star Wars is a massive franchise with many spin-off works, some of which are canon and others are not. Regardless of their status, all of these works must follow certain rules when it comes to publishing, especially the books.
Authors working on Star Wars projects sometimes have a lot of creative freedom, but other times, they’re just hired to write within strict guidelines. Recently, author Delilah S. Dawson shared a detailed post about her experience writing for large franchises.
While many might think that working on a big franchise offers the best conditions, her story reveals that it’s not always the case.
Star Wars fans will recognize Delilah S. Dawson as the author of several Star Wars tie-in books, such as Star Wars: Phasma, Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire, and the short story “Star Wars: The Perfect Weapon.”
However, she has also worked on other major franchises, gaining extensive experience in the industry.

Making live-action adaptations of beloved animated content can be risky, especially within the fantasy genre. Most often, there's a reason that the stories were told through animation in the first place. Thanks to the expansive animation techniques that make visuals possible that would be difficult to create in real life, there are many obstacles that live-action iterations of animated fantasy TV shows face. Dandadan is the latest shonen hit that has impacted the anime scene for the better. With its chaotic narrative and high-paced storytelling, the anime has hypnotized fans with its mind-boggling blending of various sub-genres. Having said that, while the human characters in Dandadan are entertaining, the real spotlight stealers are the aliens. Fans have been introduced to a few spirits and aliens who are extremely outlandish and have interesting backstories.
However, when it comes to the weirdness factor, Dandadan’s alien species take the most points. The fascinating balance of absurdity and creativity has rendered viewers speechless when it comes to understanding Dandadan’s paranormal stance. Quick Links How Infinity Train Became One of Cartoon Network's Most Popular Animated Series Why Was Infinity Train Canceled? Owen Dennis Deserves To Finish His Original Plan For Infinity Train
Every so often, there comes a TV show that becomes the unfortunate victim of an untimely cancelation despite having grown a large and dedicated fan base that would normally justify a further continuation. During its mere four-season run, Infinity Train gained such a following, along with the potential to become Cartoon Network's next Adventure Time-level phenomenon. With such a unique premise and a consistent ability to tell stories that captured and maintained the attention of animation fans, the show certainly had the potential to last much longer than it did, and even its creator, Owen Dennis, had plans to do so. Sadly, those plans were forced to cease further development as Warner Bros. decided instead to cancel the show.
