Lupe Ontiveros played America Ferrera's mother in the film Ana (2002). In this film, she plays her grandmother. Based on their age difference (42 years), either relationship is plausible.
The Ramirez house in Our Family Wedding is next door to the house used as the Halliwell Manor in the tv series Charmed. It is also the house used as neighbor Dan Gordon's home in the same series.
