British TV shows often get darker and weirder than most mainstream American shows, and some of them are creepy enough to keep their audiences awake at night. Most "creepy" shows tend to fall under the horror genre, but British comedies can be just as unsettling. Without necessarily being horror comedies, it's possible to create a dark and tense atmosphere while still being hilarious.
Some of Britain's best writers, including Chris Morris, Charlie Brooker and even Roald Dahl, have made creepy shows with plenty of humor. While America also has some similar shows, it's rare for a mainstream show to feature such a perfect blend between darkness and humor. British networks seem more willing to commission all sorts of creepy shows, including horrors, comedies, and detective dramas.

Warning: this Inside No. 9 review contains spoilers.
The curse of the ninth. What could be a more fitting inspiration for one of these demonically clever stories? If it hadn’t already existed, they’d have had to invent it.
Inside No. 9’s creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith didn’t invent this superstition but they used it to make perhaps their most elegant story yet.
The plot was a trap, avoided. Composer Nathaniel Burnham (Eddie Marsan) had taken his own life after being haunted by a curse that struck artists upon reaching their ninth symphony. Years later, his cash-strapped widow Lillian (Natalie Dormer) ensnared piano tuner Jonah (Reece Shearsmith) to first grave-rob and then complete Nathaniel’s unfinished work, intending to sacrifice him to the fatal curse so that she could profit from the final product. Instead, Jonah turned the tables on Mrs Burnham and, in a sequence beautifully presented by director Guillem Morales,...

We’ve had a marvellous run of Taskmaster series lately, so when a new line-up announcement is on the horizon, it’s easy to wonder whether the winning streak will continue or if we’re due a dud.
Never fear – Alex Horne and co. have delivered once again, although the series 17 Taskmaster line-up might not be quite what you’re expecting. Instead of the now-traditional Taskmaster family line-up, this time they’ve gone for a veteran from outside the world of stand-up comedy, plus four rising stars with slightly less mainstream recognition than normal. As ever with this show though, anybody you’re not familiar with at the start, you’ll almost certainly love by the end of the series.
The Taskmaster series 17 line-up is: Steve Pemberton, Sophie Willan, Nick Mohammed, John Robins and Joanne McNally! And here they are appearing in the very first trailer for the new run:...

You have to take your hat off to Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. By the end of the next series, The League Of Gentlemen stars will have written 55 completely new, original comedy dramas, complete with shocks, surprises and twists aplenty. We’re talking the majestic Inside No 9.
From the silent shenanigans of the wonderful A Quiet Night In (which featured Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter Oona Chaplin) to the astonishing drama of The Twelve Days Of Christine and, arguably the greatest episode, beautiful ode to double acts Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room, if you’ve never had the pleasure, it is a series well worth delving into.

The following contains spoilers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, now playing in theaters.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse expands its cast of arachnid-themed heroes with new multiversal characters, expanding the scope, style and, at times, genre of Miles Morales's adventure. Among them is Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk of Earth-138, a rebellious rocker who uses his electric guitar to battle against a fascist regime. Although a recent entry into the Spider-Man lore, Hobie has nonetheless become a fan-favorite thanks to his unique look, backstory and references to one of the most influential genres in rock and roll.
To voice the character, Across the Spider-Verse brought in Oscar-winning actor Daniel Kaluuya, who updates the role with his Camden accents and adds a laid-back charm and swagger that makes the character one of the movie's standouts. Although his impact on the movie is relatively small, Spider-Punk's presence in Across...

Nearly every episode of Inside No. 9 features one or both of its writers, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, and both have put in some truly great performances over the course of the show’s almost 50 episodes. Pemberton won a Bafta for his performance as an alcoholic ex-comedian down on his luck in series four’s ‘Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room,’ though that was far from his only standout half-hour. His frazzled everyman drawn to the brink in call-centre mystery ‘Cold Comfort’, arrogant fantasy screenwriter in ‘Simon Says’ and regretful physicist in ‘A Random Act of Kindness’ all show how much more there is to the actor than comedy Psychoville grotesque David Sowerbutts.
The same goes for Shearsmith, who’s given several poignant and complex performances alongside his heightened ‘Wuthering Heist’ and ‘Lip Service’ clowning. His hapless primary teacher in ‘Mr. King...

The bad news was felt by horror fans around the world as it emerged that "Nope," the latest offering from "Get Out" and "Us" director Jordan Peele, would be getting a significantly delayed release in most major international markets. In the U.K. (where this writer is located), the film was originally slated for release on July 22, before being moved back three weeks to August 12 for reasons unknown.
This isn't the first time that overseas fans have had to wait for one of Peele's movies. "Get Out" released in the U.S. in late February 2017, followed by an international rollout in mid-March. But by the time "Us" came along, the lingering hype from "Get Out" made it one of the must-see movies of the year, and it benefited from a day-and-date release in many countries that helped propel it to its impressive 255 million worldwide total.

When Jordan Peele released the poster for his upcoming third foray into horror feature territory, "Nope," we all immediately speculated that the "Get Out" and "Us" director was bringing us some sort of alien invasion. If the evocative image of the floating cloud (???) with a kite tail of the triangle flag banners usually seen outside every used car lot in America wasn't enough to get our excitement brewing, the casting announcement of Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun was sure to do the trick. Kaluuya had been acting for years on shows like "Skins" and "Psychoville" and in movies like "Welcome...

Warning: contains Inside No. 9 spoilers.
Right at the start, Bev told us she was celebrating a birthday. The significance of that indefinite article passed us by until she protested in the final minutes, “I never said it were my birthday.” Bev was celebrating on behalf of Ryan, the baby she’d snatched from his pram two decades ago as a disturbed 10-year-old, and killed, concealing his skeleton inside a child’s doll.
‘Hurry Up and Wait’ is an uncomfortable half-hour with a macabre conclusion, as befits the creators and director of Psychoville (which in Dawn French’s Joy, also featured a grown woman with a sinister attachment to a baby doll, that one following the death of her own son – the dead baby being the sine qua non of subversive comedy.) The episode is an emotionally cold grotesquerie driven by social awkwardness, cringe comedy, and light satire on the acting world.

Warning: contains spoilers for Inside No. 9 series 6 episode 3.
What a sad tale! Four sad tales, if we’re counting – a melancholic pass-the-parcel that tore off layers of wrapping and changed shape at regular intervals. ‘Lip Service’ started out as a domestic drama that turned dark, briefly became a romance, and ended unexpectedly as a conspiracy thriller. Four stories, three twists, as many genres, 30 minutes, no waiting. Where else on TV does an audience get this much bang for their buck?
Until its final moments, ‘Lip Service’ ran at a different speed to this series’ previous two episodes. While they were crammed with busy dialogue and heightened drama, this started with silence and space. Felix Hughes (Steve Pemberton) checked into the grotty three-star Medway Hotel, placed a pair of binoculars on the bed, and cry-screamed into a pillow. A poignant piano score accompanied his turmoil as we took in his grimy,...

It’s always a monumental task to deliver an American Civil Rights movie, but when it’s done right it’s a safe bet that you’re onto a damn good thing. That’s exactly what we get with Judas and the Black Messiah, without quite reaching the spectacular.
Receiving high praise at the recent Sundance Festival, it was singled out for its acting, direction and timely themes. Quite right, too, although you can’t help wondering if the latter held it back just a little.
But more of that later. Set in late-60s Chicago, here we have the story of Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya), Chairman of the Black Panther Party, and fellow comrade William O’Neal (Lakeith Stanfield), who led a double-life as an FBI informant.
Kaluuya received a Golden Globe best supporting nod, and it’s easy to see why. Playing Hampton with the firebrand energy that was a trademark of such figureheads,...

Serial killer dramas have a grimy reputation. The phrase conjures up lurid magazine headlines promising Sick! Twisted! Depravity! and Never-Seen-Before Crime Scene Photos! Think ‘true crime serial killer’, you think of Jack the Ripper tours and David from Psychoville poring over victim stats and working himself to a froth over all the gory details.
To shake off those associations and emerge as nuanced, intelligent and non-exploitative, a drama has to work hard. It has to foreground the human cost and trace a story that doesn’t revel in gore. It requires scripts that build in context and narrative balance. It needs empathy with the victims, and a central performance that captures the horrid anomaly of the killer without lending rock star glamour. Most of all, it needs a purpose other than as a ratings draw.

Legendary duo Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith first reached global recognition with the highly acclaimed The League of Gentlemen, followed by the similarly bizarre Psychoville in 2009 which was also a hit, albeit a less favourable one than its predecessor. Then in 2014, the pair masterminded one of the most supreme television shows in existence – Inside No.9.
Inside No.9 embodies a lot of interesting concepts throughout, with a combination of satire, dark comedy and chilling horror, with all stories somehow relating to the number 9. Each episode has its own standalone, individual storyline, but they do all have one thing in common (apart from the number 9). Their very dark, very chilling and very killer twist endings.
The anthology show is definitely one of a kind, with it creators using innovative ways to tell their dark, emotionally driven stories with the majority being told in non-linear techniques. Each episode always endeavours to leave the...

Inside Number 9 is a dark comedy anthology from the minds of Reese Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, co-creators of other brilliant shows such as The League Of Gentlemen and Psychoville.
Every week is a stand-alone episode set inside “Number 9,” be that a house, a train carriage, a restaurant table or where ever the story sees fit. Often funny, sometimes touching, but almost always incredibly dark it is perfect viewing for people who enjoy shows such as Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone.
Season 5 has just finished in the UK, so what better time to look back on ten of the greatest episodes (according to IMDb) to help you get invested in this great show, if you haven’t done so already!

Attack of the Adult Babies. What a title! It’s enough on its own to make me want to watch it but the movie has plenty more to offer than the crazy-sounding title. Chances are you will recognise the above title as an infamous line from William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar – but don’t panic, it’s not time to dust off your old school textbooks. Just that yours truly decided to pop along to his local cinema the other night for a screening with a difference. Broadcast live from the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon to the Reel Cinema in Grantham, no less, was their 2017 production of the historic play. I may never pay to go and watch a movie again.
Okay, so that’s more than a slight exaggeration, but amongst Beauty and the Beast, Their Finest and The Fate of the Furious, it just leapt out at me. As I had watched a version of Julius Caesar many moons ago on a school trip, I had an inkling of what to expect from the play itself. However, it was...

Dystopian fiction imagines worlds where society has devolved from its ideal form into a frightening, undesirable place. Tom Paton’s film “Pandorica” takes this cue and is set in a world plunged in a new dark age where humanity has reverted back to its primal state. A trio of youths — Eiren (Jade Hobday), Ares (Marc Zammit), and Thade (Adam Bond) — have been selected to take part in the leadership trials of The Varosha Tribe, with the winner becoming the tribe’s leader. We take a look at some of the most memorable and freaky floating brains and flying heads in the history of cinema...
Nb: The following contains spoilers for The Brain From The Planet Arous and Prometheus.
For some reason we've yet to discover, cinema has, for decades, been home to all manner of sentient, disembodied heads and floating brains. Note that we’re not talking about decapitations here - though goodness knows that cinema is home to plenty of those, from Japanese samurai epics to modern slasher horrors.
No, we’re talking about movies where heads and brains remain sentient even when they’re stuffed into jars or colossal things made of stone. Sometimes used for comedic effect, at other times for shock value, they’re a surprisingly common phenomenon in the movies. Here, we celebrate a few of our absolute favourites - though you’re sure...

Prepare to head back Inside No. 9 - BBC Two has ordered a third series of the darkly comic anthology.
Reece Shearsmith, who created the series with Steve Pemberton, broke the news on Twitter - in a post he described as "rumour control".
This is rumour control - here are the facts. We are indeed making a third series of "Inside No 9". Steve and I have written the new series.
— Reece Shearsmith (@ReeceShearsmith) October 20, 2015
The BBC is yet to make an official announcement regarding more Inside No. 9.
First airing in 2014, each instalment of the series is set inside a different 'no.9' - from a haunted house to an actor's dressing room. Shearsmith and Pemberton write each instalment, and also act in most episodes.
Back in May, Shearsmith told Digital Spy that he had high hopes for a third series of Inside No. 9.

Shearsmith and Pemberton transport us to the 17th century for a witch trial this week in an episode high on quotability and absurdity...

The third instalment of this series of Inside No. 9 took us back to a perilous, and ridiculous, time in British history – the witch trials of the 17th century. Steven Moffat says "not doing [Sherlock] again would be fine. If that was it, then that would be it"...
This Broadcast interview with Steven Moffat is well worth a read. In it, he discusses leaving Doctor Who, his original plan to exit after Peter Capaldi's second series, the show's scheduling issues last year, new Executive Producer Chris Chibnall, and more.
See related Dragon's Lair movie hits crowdfunding goal
It's his comments on Sherlock though, that fans are keen to hear amid a feeling that the series four finale may have been a permanent end to the hit BBC show.
"The ratings were extremely good," said Moffat "so I guess they’ll ask us again, and then we’ll have to see first of all if we have three films we want to make, and then if Benedict and Martin have the time, schedule and inclination.

Here's a spoiler-free look at what to expect from the second series of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith's glorious Inside No. 9...
Inside No. 9 returns to BBC Two on Thursday the 26th of March for six more ingenious genre slices of horror, suspense and psychology. Those who were rattled and gripped by the first round of half-hour plays from Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith know to expect to be skilfully sucker-punched with sharp, tricksy writing and well-drawn characters.
Viewers engrossed by the psychological character focus of series one’s Tom & Gerri, the jump scares of series finale The Harrowing, and the unexpected emotional sting of opener Sardines have lots to look forward to from the second series’ first brace of episodes. La Couchette and The 12 Days Of Christine tell the respective stories of a fraught overnight train journey and a woman plagued by a mysterious visitor, featuring guest roles from Mark Benton,...

The Raid 2
Twitch, the film blog, deserves the credit for getting me really psyched about this movie. I mean, I absolutely loved The Raid but the idea of a sequel was not welcome; the ending was suitably climactic and had a pleasing dramatic punch I didn’t want diluted by what seemed like a cash-in, an assumption not alleviated by The Raid director/writer Gareth Evans’ locked-in distribution contract with Sony long before filming had even begun. But as Twitch devotedly pursued every scrap of information Evans’ fed to them during filming (there was quite a bit, a refreshing change from the usual hush of...

There’s one of two things you can be almost guaranteed of when you see a story that takes place on a train – romance, or a murder.
Mummy On The Orient Express
By Jamie Mathieson
Directed by Paul Wilmshurst
As a farewell fling, The Doctor takes Clara on a trip aboard the Orient Express in space, exactingly copied from the original, except for the bit about being spaceworthy. It becomes quickly apparent that all is not well on the craft – a mysterious unseen beast is killing people exactly 66 seconds after the victim sees it – and no one else does. It turns out this particular journey is a massive two-fold trap – the ship is filled with scientists versed in areas of research that pertain to the beast, and are pressed into service to capture it, by any means necessary.
The Doctor quickly joins the press gang, understanding that the only way...

Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith have discussed the possibility of a League Of Gentlemen reunion...
Of busy men in the world of TV, Mark Gatiss is one of the busiest. As well as regularly chipping in with Doctor Who episodes, he is also a co-star and co-showrunner for Sherlock and presumably set to have an expanded role in the next season of Game Of Thrones.
However, former collaborator Reece Shearsmith (who has also been doing fine on his own with roles in The World’s End, A Field In England and the upcoming High Rise), has hinted that there may be one more project on Gatiss’ plate – a reunion with his former co-star and writing partner.
Shearsmith has confirmed recently that he, Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Jeremy Dyson have met to discuss a reunion. Whether or not said meeting of minds will result in more League Of Gentlemen episodes, or something else altogether,...

As one of the twisted minds behind The League of Gentlemen, Psychoville, and now Inside No.9, Reece Shearsmith knows a thing or two about TV commissioning.
Digital Spy and some other journalists sat down with Reece to talk about his acting role in three-part factual drama The Widower, which starts tonight on ITV.
"It's a delicate thing to get right, but I think it's done really well," said Shearsmith of the true story of murderer Malcolm Webster.
"There's very little music on it, it's not done like 'an ITV drama' in the way that it's telling you, 'This is the dramatic bit'. I think they just showed the facts."
While we were chatting, Shearsmith got onto the topic of why audiences and TV commissioners don't always see eye to eye...

A new programme from the creators of A League of Gentlemen was always going to be an exciting prospect by those of us from a certain generation. As such, when Inside No 9 started on Wednesday 5th February, I turned on with high expectations.
Inside No 9 is a new black comedy series from Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith consisting of six standalone stories. Based on past experience, I expected comedy, I expected darkness, and I expected at least a little silliness. Previous outings, namely A League of Gentlemen and Psychoville, have involved surrealism and a decent proportion of dressing up. However, based on Sardines - the first episode – Inside No 9 is quite different.
The premise of this opening programme is an engagement party where a game of sardines is being played. For those of you unfamiliar with this, Sardines is like hide and seek except you have a single hider,...

Looking for a refreshingly different bit of British telly? Look no further than the new comedy drama series Inside No. 9, Ryan writes...
In a modern world where media, news stories, tweets and animated gifs of cats whistle past our eyes with increasing speed, Inside No. 9 emerges as a bold and refreshingly different bit of British telly.
Written by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton - two members of The League Of Gentleman and the warped imaginations behind the wonderful Psychoville - it harks back to an earlier age of carefully-wrought, austere TV drama, where great acting and screenwriting take centre stage.
Although set in a rambling country mansion, Inside No. 9's opening episode takes place entirely in one room. In the midst of a terribly posh engagement party, bride-to-be Rebecca (The It Crowd's Katherine Parkinson) is playing a game of Sardines.

Two of Britain's brightest and most inventive comedy brains are back. Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton return to BBC Two this week with Inside No 9 - a new series of one-off darkly comic vignettes that the pair are pitching as a contemporary counterpart to classic anthology shows like Armchair Theatre and Nigel Kneale's Beasts.
"I think it is a hard sell for people," Shearsmith says of the format. "There's this idea that you don't build an audience with an anthology - every week, you've got to start again and if you don't like the first one [you see] you might not watch again. That's the fear! But I think the appeal is the absolute excitement of not knowing what you're going to get."
Join Digital Spy as we head inside Inside No 9 and find out what the latest project from the men behind The League of Gentlemen and Psychoville has to offer.

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have called the axing of their series Psychoville "really disappointing".
The dark comedy series was dropped by BBC Two after two series in 2011, with viewership for the final episodes falling under 1m viewers.
"It was really disappointing when those viewing figures dropped - we couldn't understand it," co-creator and star Pemberton told Digital Spy.
"It was a real shame that more people weren't sticking with it. But in this day and age, how can you measure and quantify anything's success?"
Pemberton argued that Psychoville "goes down as a very successful show even though the ratings might tell you a different story".
"It was well-liked and appreciated by those who did watch it," he reasoned.
Shearsmith added: "It doesn't equate that if the most people watch something then it must be good - that's not always the case."

Review Patrick Sproull 26 Dec 2013 - 19:00
Patrick checks out heart-warming, rollicking family drama, Gangsta Granny...
This review contains spoilers.
In some curious and forgettable circumstances I found myself reading Gangsta Granny to one of my younger relatives a couple of years ago. Hailing from the David Walliams stable it was expected to be ripe with gags and puns about the modern world but behind the humour there was a moral tale about people’s neglect of the elderly. At Christmas time it seems ideal fare for families grazing round the TV for feel-good laughs and a life lesson, so unsurprisingly the BBC nabbed the rights and set about adapting it. Written by Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley (two of the penmen behind Gnomeo and Juliet. The one with Jason Statham as a garden ornament. Yeah, that one) with more than a little help from Walliams himself Gangsta Granny has been...

We chatted to the very affable Marcus Garvey about Broadchurch, Wolfblood, children's TV, and his love of Buffy The Vampire Slayer...
Marcus Garvey is a tall and funny man. The first part doesn't come across as much as the second on the phone (which is where I spent a very enjoyable half-hour chatting to him about his parts in Broadchurch and Wolfblood) but it is borne out by his roles. Policemen and comfortingly daft dads are Garvey's self-described speciality so far - hapless, affable types who can deliver a punchline and make you a brew.
I say we chatted about Broadchurch and Wolfblood, in which Garvey plays, respectively, Pete, the ineffectual Family Liaison Officer assigned to the Latimer family, and Daniel Smith, father to Maddy and Wolfblood in his own right. That we did, but it was via his childhood terror at Chocky, the...

The Sightseers and Kill List director will direct Peter Capaldi in the first two episodes of his stint as Doctor Who. So what might we expect from him?
Whenever we hear exciting news about Doctor Who, it's usually to do with new actors joining the show. Over the past couple of years we've had a new companion, a new Doctor, a few returnees and even a new … whatever it is that John Hurt is playing. Now there's some behind-the-camera news that is just as thrilling, with the announcement that Ben Wheatley, one of Britain's most talented film directors, has signed on to direct the first two episodes of Peter Capaldi's tenure. But what could he bring to the show?
1. His own people
Directors like to work with people they have already established a rapport and a shorthand with, as it saves a lot of time cutting out any getting-to-know-you awkwardness.

On the eve of What Remains’ DVD release, we spoke to David Bamber about the BBC drama, working with Steven Moffat on Chalk, and more…
There’s something about talking to old-school Rada-trained actors - you know the ones, glossy-vowelled stalwarts of the stage and screen from whose necks you can always hear the rustle of tissue paper from the backstage make-up chair - that brings out my inner Frasier Crane. French vocab and sycophancy belch out in equal measure. Words like habitué and soupçon have to be swallowed down and replaced by less ostentatious fellows. I say things like ostentatious. And fellows.
There was every chance when speaking to David Bamber - a proper English actor if ever there was one - about his role in recent BBC Two drama What Remains that my sherry-swilling Mr Hyde would emerge to call him ‘my...

Reece Shearsmith has teased that a League of Gentlemen reunion may be in the works.

When asked by fans about the extra hand on Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss's shoulder, he joked: "So much genuine bafflement at the extra hand on Marks shoulder in that pic. Like it wasn't deliberate. Come On people!! My blood pressure!"
The League of Gentlemen ran for three TV series from 1999 to 2002 following the 1997 radio series, and spawned several live shows and the 2005 movie The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse.
Shearsmith and Pemberton have since collaborated on BBC Two's Psychoville series, while they have also reunited for...

TV Horror:Investigating the Dark Side of the Small Screen
by Lorna Jowett and Stacey Abbott
I.B. Taurus
270 pages
Paperback
Isbn: 978148856189
By Adrian Smith
Television can easily be dismissed as being an unsuitable medium for the horror genre, having to please the moral majority and unable to be as red in tooth and claw as those horrific offerings on the silver screen. Jowett and Abbott's new book does its best to prove this argument wrong, demonstrating that in many ways television has been able to explore the darker recesses of horror in far more depth than can be done in a single two hour movie. Shows such as The Twilight Zone and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have embraced the limitations of the small screen to present some truly chilling, unsettling moments. Long-running shows like The X-Files were able to have story arcs that lasted several seasons, building complex characters and even more complicated plots.

Channel 4 has announced its 2013 pilots for the comedy showcase 4Funnies.
Sti comedy Scrotal Recall joins the previously-announced Raised By Wolves - written by Caitlin Moran - in the line-up.
Moran's pilot, co-written with sister Caroline, has been described by the columnist as a "modern day reimagining" of her younger years.
Scrotal Recall - from Pramface writer Tom Edge - follows 20-something Dylan Witter, who must contact everyone he's ever slept with to tell them he has Chlamydia.
Also on the slate is a comedy from Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Roisin Conaty telling the story of Marcella, a hapless 30-year-old doing her very best to muddle through life.
Superhero spoof The Revengers! is the final commission. Daisy Haggard (Episodes, Psychoville) will star in the mockumentary - described as "Batman meets The Office" - which follows an unconventional team of costumed adventurers in Croydon.
"With exceedingly well-crafted scripts and new talent...
