Korean Mini Series 'Zombie Detective' is a smooth blend of comedy and mystery. The drama uses the zombie situation of the main lead in the most hilarious way, from his tries to imitate being human to him advertizing the make-up product, to his relationship with the leading lady. Everything was well done, not overstepping the borders of ridiculous, and keeping a nice balance between comedy and action.
The mystery, in addition, was a nice touch that kept things going for a while. The small cases weren't plenty, but they were enough to get things more entertaining and give time to the main plot to slowly mature.
The performances, finally, were all great from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, 7 out of 10.

A man awakens on a rubbish dump with no recollection of how he got there and even worse he is now a zombie with a hunger for human flesh. He assumes the role of a murdered detective and tries to find out about his past with the help of a nosy female whilst trying to suppress his hunger. Interesting idea with a great cast keeps the story moving over the twelve episode and some amusing moments make it an ok watch.

This is good and a 8 is a fair rating as it does lag in the last 3 episodes still the best Asian Zombie series ive seen, all the characters were well acted even the annoying sister in law who had the hardest part did it well. Appears set up for a season 2 but the rating might not warrant it.

I am in love with the Zombie Detective. And Park Ju Hyun and our Bae Gyuri rocked as always!!!
Plot was interesting. 3 mysteries were solved in the entires season. 1st case making base for the evolution of zombie detective, was soooo amazing!
And the comedy was truly awesome!!

The female lead character is over-the-top agressive, pushy and loud to get what she wants. It's always her way and she won't let ANYONE say no to her. If you can take that, then you'll love this show! But Choi Jin Huyk has such a 'bloody' good role that you will likely put all that aside. I couldn't. But go enjoy...the humour is on the cheesy side but the 'Beef Tripe' is tasty.

The first thing I noticed about this one: AMAZING picture. And this is the main reason I rate this so high.
It had promise and it started very well, but the sister ruined the whole drama for me with her overacting. I don't blame the actress. It's her role. She wasn't the only bad role, but definitely the worst. In the attempt to make the drama funnier, they made some characters overact. It definitely didn't work.
I would have rated with 7 stars if not for the stupid humour. It's a shame because there are some parts with nice humour, more fitting to the dark side of the drama. So, barely 6 stars for the production quality.

I admit, I was bored at first , but as the drama getting on, I'm liking it, it was a stress reliever . I feel the funny or jokes was not forced unlike other comedy kdrama . Props to Park Ju Hyun, she's a very good actress . Hoping her to have more lead roles in the future.

... even if you're not into zombies. There's a bit of overacting, but not excessively so. Indeed, it's rather meant to be. A few plot holes, but then again, with such a story, that's par for the course.
This is not meant to make sense. It's meant to entertain, and does so well. The obsessions over absurd points, such as striving to not look like a zombie, mocks the current men's beauty trends. The over-the-top annoying female lead pokes fun at the stereotypical female KDrama trope. One gets the feeling that everyone was in on the joke, and worked seamlessly to pull it off.
I get a distinct Park Hyung-sik vibe from Park Ju-hyun. She has the same expressions and ability to portray multi-layered characters. She also has the gift of physical comedy, though it's not as evident. Watch her in a few more shows, especially Mouse, and see if you catch that vibe, too.

I did not like this one at all. I really tried but it was nothing special. You would expect that the Zombie Detective to have an impact on actual ongoing investigations while working on how he came to be, but unfortunately there was no such impact. I also couldn't connect with Park Joo-Hyun's character at all. The comedy aspect of the series did not help at all fill that gap. Skip this one. Not worth it.
I gave this show 9 stars simply because it had fewer episodes than most kdramas (12 instead of 16). I think they could and should have made more episodes and fleshed out the story a bit more. Other than that I have nothing to complain about. It's hilarious! There's comedy, action, mystery, and camp. The chemistry between the actors/characters was amazing. I love anything zombie but for the most part zombie shows/movies are either way too gory and/or just plain stupid. But not this one! It's great for when you want to watch something casual, relaxing and funny. There's the cute main character, a self aware zombie, a zombie-obsessed filmmaker brother-in-law, adorable kids, and hilarious enemy-sidekicks. Plus now I have a new kcrush, Choi Jin-Huyk :) The ending hinted that there could be a second season but there isn't, which is sad.

I was expecting some kind of dark/mystery series, but instead, found a comedy....
And I must say I'm really not fond of Korean comedies, especially because I find the humor forced and obvious, and often overacted.
If you like Korean comedy, then It should be perfect for you.
To me, that was just too light, overacted and boring.

Numb.
With only 17 reviews, all of them enthusiastic, I thought this might be an over-looked gem. Perhaps the silly premise put off viewers?
But no, dear reader - it's essential you save 12 hours of your life. Go out and enjoy the sunshine, meet friends, laugh, do a few good turns. Anything but watch this nonsense. It's an insult to KDramas.
I can barely tolerate over-acting at the best of times, but this infantile presentation is insulting. The characters are uninteresting, the plot(s) are convoluted.
If there ever was a germ of an idea, it needed complete reworking, re-editing, re-something.
Someone should have been brave enough to double-tap this monstrous show.

I accidentally stumbled upon this series on Viu with a Tagalog dub, and my curiosity got the best of me. The zombie here is surprisingly cute, charming, and innocent. Even though he dislikes humans, he can't help but be kind-hearted by nature. No matter how hungry he gets or how much he wants to eat people (or pets), he always stops himself.
Instead of hurting anyone, he learns how to live like a human and just go with the flow, taking whatever life throws at him. It's not your typical scary zombie story-it's actually a mix of comedy, lighthearted moments, and quirky twists. There are so many little events and subplots that keep things interesting. Watching it in Tagalog made it even funnier.
At first, I found the female lead kind of annoying, but I realized that's just how her character was written. Eventually, she grew on me. Kim and Gong Sun's relationship starts off purely as business, but over time, they get closer and form this unique friendship-or maybe something platonic-but-special. I have a feeling Gong Sun likes Kim, but realistically, they can't be together. They're always bickering, but they still have each other's backs.
The whole cast did a great job, especially the two nosy detective neighbors-they were absolutely hilarious. The visuals and production quality are top-notch, and the soundtrack is solid. The actor playing Detective Kim was perfect for the role-I honestly can't imagine anyone else pulling it off. Without him, I don't think the series would be as highly rated as it is.
The only thing I noticed is that it felt like the series ended abruptly, almost like it was cut short. Maybe there's going to be a Season 2?
