Trivia

Sigmund and the Sea Monsters

Edit
Johnny Whitaker, who plays Zach, the fisherman who constantly mocks Captain Barnabus for believing in sea monsters, starred as young Johnny in the original Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (1973).
The boat in Scott and Johnny's clubhouse is painted with "Est. 1973." The original Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (1973) debuted on Saturday morning TV in 1973.
The first notes of a song from the original Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (1973) can be heard when Sigmund turns on the radio in the clubhouse.
Braden Barty, the son of the actor who played Sigmund in the 1970's series visited the set to see the new series.
Captain Barnabus wears a tentacle ring on his wedding finger because he was "married to the sea."
