Creepy and well made

Certainly got my pulse up!! Fellow swede David Sandberg got his break doing shorts and I predict the same future for Terry!

Draws you in

For a short film this does everything a good horror should do, it gives you a context, draws you into that context and has you wondering what is going on, then introduces the horror element. The fear trigger point is set up very nicely, and as it should, it gets you by surprise.

A creature feature that hits the mark

This is exceptionally well-made for a horror short film. It doesn't feel amateurish at all, and I couldn't help but wonder how some of the impressive special effects were created-they're probably not CGI. The story is engaging, built around the idea that whatever happens in the video game you're playing also happens in real life-for better or worse. The acting is solid, and although this is a horror story through and through, there are occasional moments of fun and lightness. Ultimately, Don't Peek is a creature feature, and I have to say the creature looked genuinely scary and was very well-executed. It was a pleasure to watch this horror short.

In control (not)

Would you like to play a game? Well it always depends on what game we are talking about and what the stakes would be. I am waiting for the first movie about us controlling our home - I mean it is quite easy to do - though also easy for things to go south ... things not working the way you'd want them to ... or just things ... well happening.

The question with a movie like this always is: how would you react? While with quite a lot of horror movies (or shorts like in this case), the characters do stuff that do not make them look very intelligent, there is nothing of that sort here. Will that be enough to ... get through it all? Well you'll have to peek to find out ... take a peek/look ... well you got it anyway I am sure.

Well acted and well lit and shot. Also short and fun, while disturbing at the same time. So well done overall.
