Viridian

Oddly, I didn't mind this movie.

It's an unusual movie. The plot is not too hard to figure out but it comes with a twist and a style that I didn't expect. I'm not a huge fan of Schneider as his acting preferences shifted to certain types of films with a political agenda. Setting that aside, this film doesn't have any of that and it's an okay movie. A bit sinister, definitely lower cost production but the setting is okay. The acting isn't too bad and the eerie weirdness works well. The supporting characters are an interesting selection of actors I'd never seen before and they do a pretty good job. It's not an Emmy or Oscar winning movie, but it's watchable and entertaining at a slower pace.

I was very surprised to see John Schneider in this movie. It definitely changed my view of this man. The plot was not bad, the acting average but the profuse profanity ruined it for us. This film should have been rated R up front. Otherwise I would have given it a 6, even though I guessed the 'whodoneit' character about 15 minutes in. It takes a bit of suspension of reality when it came to the injuries sustained by all the victims who were able to continue with little inconvenience. I admit that it did make one wonder if there was a supernatural element involved and whether that was intended or not it did add something to the plot. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this film.
