Girlfriends Films is famous for its long-running popular series, such as "Women Seeking Women" numbering over 170 volumes so far. But the label also has an occasional one-off title, like this lousy high-concept junker shot on location in Texas.
Its central premise, run into the ground via four nearly identical vignettes, is that lesbians cruise local video stores for easy pick-ups of other lesbians. The unlikelihood of this practice is so obvious that the set-up scenes are laughable. And with the demise of video shops, it plays as almost quaint. (In my history of visiting video stores dating back to the VHS era of Video Shack I don't recall seeing any female customers.)
Autum Moon is chief cougar here, prowling shops in Garland, Texas. For big-bust fans, both Deauxma and Tru, are on hand, big D as a cougar on the prowl and Tru as a pick-up.
Not to waste an opportunity, each liaison is initiated, almost comically, by a woman picking up a Girlfriends DVD, sidling over to another femme customer, and recommending it for viewing -seconds later the newfound couple is exiting, heading home to watch it together.
So chalk this stinker up as a 2-1/2 hour house ad.
