Simplistic plot with loads of violence.

This movie is not my cup of tea at all. I gave up 2/3 of the way through. I only persevered that far because I'd paid for it.

There's some great morris teams involved, I just wish they had been in a different film.

Basically, this is a film about vigilantes. If you think vigilantes are a good thing and that violence and killing in a good cause is always worthwhile, then maybe you'll like this, but I don't fall into that category.

It also has lots of hand held camera work, which is something I really dislike.

The sound track (lots of drumming, with occasional music) is presumably intended to convey tension, but you can't do that for an entire movie without losing the impact.

The whole thing is paced around continual combat/violence and there's hardly any change of pace or contrast. (even the funeral goes for a menacing, revenge vibe) I lost some of the finer details of the plot - the dialogue wasn't clear at one or two points, but it's easy to follow overall.

Drug dealers bad. People who attack drug dealers good.

    That's it really.

Swearing doesn't bother me much, but if it bothers you, then note that there's an awful lot of it.

    What was that?

Truely an awful film. Everyone involve wasted their time. No film has been ever taken itself so seriously. You have a funny premise about morris dancing based martial arts, but what you get is a film taking itself so seriously about people killing drug dealers. Not a single joke or moment of mirth.

The sound was too quiet. The camera work looks like it was done on a phone. Every conversation was shot as close to people's faces as possible while shaking like crazy. The "action" sequences were terrible. The dialogue was bad to the point of not being able to understand how it could be so bad without anyone questioning it. You get to see lots of Clacton, Jaywick and Walton pier, which holds entertainment.

There are biggger problems in Clacton, like Farage and the rascists who voted for him.

    Avoid at all costs.

    Dark but good

Saw this at the Clacton premier so I understand there have been tweaks since in this fascinating, dark, movie. As a folk dancer of long standing it delighted me to see our traditions highlighted with a twisted good v evil plot. The small town setting gave a great claustrophobic feel. Combining martial arts with one morris tradition was good but the movie lost one star for not, at least, indicating there are combat dances in other morris traditions, let alone in other ,British , folk traditions. Loved looking for the locations they used for filming. Look forward to seeing it again once it is on general release.
