Good corto

Well done, good atmosphere, great characters... The idea is so good that deserve an entire film in the future. Two heroes who can hardly be together (their editors are different) meet almost by chance to face the nemesis of one of them. Things get murky as Batman's premise is not to kill the adversary but to give constant opportunities to change the other person. He trusts justice more than other characters. However, The Punisher has another idea of life and how to deal with the enemy. Things get very interesting and offer to end a beautiful closing that leaves us with little pleasure.

For this reason I offer my best wishes to the director and producer. Really deserves a look.

The Dark Knight on cocaine

Lee Charles and Mark Griffin hit it out of the park on this one! A great short film, not necessarily for everybody, but a great short Batman fan film regardless. Joker and the Penguin were portrayed brilliantly in this dark thriller.

Great imagining of the Bat Verse

Really liked this take on the Bat Verse.

It did very well in adding well known characters in a new and interesting way. I love the incorporating of The Punisher into the story. The mixing of DC and Marvel is a well trodden path in the comic world and I think the way it was utilised in the story was great.

I liked the use of an older and more grizzled Batman in this universe as well.

The lighting and cinematography really added to the overall atmosphere of the film, creating an amazing retro feel and adding to that the awesome score it really put me the mind of some classic 80s films like Robocop or Predator.

Take it easy, Bruce

The soundtrack, the editing, the cinematography is outstanding! Campbell creates an amazing aesthetic 80's feel into Gotham city. A great set up for a Batman movie. Wished the film was longer. Maybe an extended version should be worked on asap. Laurence R. Harvey is terrific as The Penguin. Great cockney voice for the role and Cornelius is great as The clown prince of crime; Joker. Lee Charles packs a mean punch as Batman and really portrays him more sinister and dark in this. This is a Batman you don't want to mess with! This is definitely worth watching.

An excellent film for the fans

An excellent film for all fans to watch! James Campbell's 1986 shows an 80's atmospheric view on Gotham for less than 15 minutes. That however is my only downfall for this as it was too short... but that's the good thing! I just wished there was more to watch. The actors were so brilliantly performed and lots of great characters involved in this short like Joker, Penguin, Punisher, Batman... it's all there.

Great choreography and great soundtrack throughout it. John Carpenter's track in the end was chosen very well. 1986 is definitely worth watching. If you have a spare 15 minutes, please watch this short and share some love.

A neon treat

1986 directed by Jim Campbell is pretty good in the cinematography department, in charge of Scott Coulter. The way the camera is complimented by the lightning is just beautiful in some shots. I can obviously see the aim here was to give the short film that neon look that is so characteristic of some 1980s media, like Hotline Miami, Miami Vice and Blade Runner.

I also love the character costume design for Batman and Punisher, made by Chloe Leeson and Megan Wallace, because they are also obvious and very well made low-budget references to the character costumes from the 80s comic-books. Well deserved watch!
