Fun fact: The last seven days of television delivered upwards of 50 (!) series and season premieres. (That sound you just heard was your DVR yawning.)
Needless to say, Premiere Week also provided dozens of memorable sound bites, 30 of which we’ve compiled into our first Quotes of the Week gallery of the new fall season.
This time around, we’ve got Chicago Fire‘s meta nod to a fallen #OneChicago series, a puzzling insult on Criminal Minds, some insight into the minds of billionaires via Celebrity Family Feud and a major lifestyle change on Speechless.

Updated with video: Last week in “Donald Trump” was so nuts that John Oliver was forced to devote virtually all of Last Week Tonight to talking about it. “The last seven days have been absolutely insane – so much so that, by Friday night, it may have broken Anderson Cooper,” Oliver acknowledged. He’s of course referring to Cooper’s Friday show, during which the host interrupted Trump surrogate Jeffrey Lord as he defended yet another indefensible Trump statement, saying…...

It's President's Day weekend, and last year it was the R-rated Fifty Shades of Grey dominating all things box office with a record-smashing $85.1 million opening that bumped up to $93 million for the four-day. This weekend brings a different kind of R-rated heat to the box office in the form of the superhero feature Deadpool, which won't likely top Fifty Shades' record, but that doesn't mean it isn't looking to perform in a big way. Additional new releases include the romantic comedy How to be Single and the fifteen-years later sequel, Zoolander 2, both of which will battle for a distant second. Arriving in a big way this weekend, Fox's Deadpool will hit 3,558 theaters with its sights set on settling among the top ranks of R-rated comic book adaptation opening weekends. The list is currently topped by 2007's 300 with $70.8 million, followed by 2009's Watchmen with $55.2 million. The film is looking at...

Two weeks in and still nobody has been sacked for posting anything controversial on their Instagram accounts. The superstars are learning.
The last seven days saw a very firm introduction of the Christmas theme, replacing the Thanksgiving posts and gimmicks of last week. So that means ugly sweaters – as modelled by the delighted looking Dean Ambrose – tinsel, Santa Claus and the Miz checking every DVD shelf in stores to see how his latest festive film is selling.
In amongst the good tidings and Christmas joy we got the usual insightful glimpses behind the scenes, both in the corridors of WWE and in the stars’ own homes and gyms. Social presence is legitimately becoming part of the brand, and it is actually good to see the talent adopting that enthusiasm and not going full John Cena.

Warning: There might be some words and posters that could be deemed Nsfw. I wouldn’t want anyone getting fired for such a reason.
How does one go about writing a book review? That is a question I’ve dealt with all my life. I’ve gotten a few film related books in my time, delving deep into information about specific genres of film or about a director or an actor. Those types of books you can find a beginning, middle and an end. But Robin Bougie’s fantastic new book, a sequel to the amazing first Graphic Thrills book, which delves into film posters of pornographic films from 1970 – 1985, was going to be tricky.
The reason it was going to be tricky was that it was going to be me gushing (poor choice of word?) about the amazing posters he featured, while he gave great insight into the particular films,...

"Go-home show" had more than one meaning in Minneapolis. Not only was it the final Monday night before SummerSlam (in case that failed to register amid Triple H and Stephanie's lengthy opening address), it was also Brock Lesnar's chance to bask in the adulation of his adopted home state. Side effect: The Undertaker got pooped all over, as did the Divas and anyone else in the final few segments who wasn't Brock Lesnar.
But hey, let's not dwell on the more controversial aspects of a fine show.

The following article contains a spoiler about the upcoming second half of the "Mad Men" season. It's not a big spoiler. It's about facial hair. But I feel like warning you anyway, given how secretive Matt Weiner and the "Mad Men" team are about even the least significant of spoilers. The last seven "Mad Men" episodes begin to roll out on Sunday, April 5 and other than that facial hair spoiler, there's no point in trying to get anybody to talk about where things are headed. But we were able to talk about where we've been, so if you haven't seen the 2014 episodes, that's spoiled here. Instead, when I sat down with John Slattery last week, we talked about where we left Roger Sterling last year, a seven-episode arc that saw the death of his professional mentor, the emotional loss of his daughter to a cult and the character's finale business...

Mad Men creator Matt Weiner is not one for oversharing when it comes to talking about upcoming seasons of his show. No shocker, then, that — beyond the premiere date — absolutely zero details about the series’ final half-season were revealed Saturday morning during a TV Critics Association press tour panel with Weiner and the original cast. That doesn’t mean we didn’t learn a few things from their session with reporters:—While Weiner didn’t talk about what happens during the homestretch of the show, he did tease their tone. "The last seven episodes, each of them feels like the finale of the show," he said. —In an age where the sign-offs of shows such as The Sopranos and How I Met Your Mother have left some segments of their fandom disappointed and even angry, Weiner made it clear he does care about how Mad Men fans react to the series finale.

Mad Men fans hoping to find closure from the show's final episodes may get more than they bargained for. "The shows became so much more concentrated on these characters. We’re really going to have to focus on our main people."...

This winter press tour is going to feature goodbye sessions for several beloved, long-running series, and few shows have been as loved by the TCA as "Mad Men," which is bringing creator Matt Weiner and stars Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks and John Slattery to the stage to reminisce about their time together. (Earlier today, AMC announced that the final season will resume on April 5.) Though AMC has done a few "Mad Men"-related events since the series premiere, this will be the first formal TCA panel since then, and it should be an interesting time, especially with this mix of strong talent and personality. Oscar hopes are looking better than ever for "Theory of Everything" star Eddie Redmayne, tapped as a frontrunner for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking since Tiff. The 32-year-old actor will receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards on January 3rd. Palm Springs is one of several festivals that plays a key role in the annual anointing of awards during the season leading up to the Oscars. Like the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the fest works with studios to land Oscar-buzzy lineups and contenders for the fest's awards presentations. Sbiff, it was announced recently, will crown "Birdman" star Michael Keaton with a Modern Master Award on January 31. The last seven recipients of the Desert Palm prize, including Matthew McConaughey for "Dallas Buyers Club," Daniel Day-Lewis for "Lincoln" and Colin Firth for "The King's Speech" all went on to win Best Actor Oscars. How important is the Toronto Film Festival, which starts tomorrow? The last seven Best Picture winners all played there, for starters. But even beyond the considerable Oscar buzz generated by a Toronto berth, the fest can always boast an incredible (and incredibly packed) lineup of intriguing directors and dazzling movie stars — so much so that when you have to narrow the list down to the 15 most anticipated films, as I have here, a wide variety of still-worthy titles will miss out. (Never fear, though, because Vulture will be on the ground covering all of those movies, including hotly buzzed films that debuted elsewhere, like The Imitation Game and Wild.) Well, like I told the police when being questioned for the murder of Corey Haim--if you would be so kind as to put your hard throbbing dick back in your pants, I'll tell you everything. The last seven months have been very...scratch that...Extremely difficult for me. Last Christmas, I found a lump on my shoulder while taking a shower. I didn't think much of it at the time and went about my business for the rest of that month. More on that later. I decided to write up my review of Thor 2 in January when without warning, I get a call from my sister. She's crying her eyes out telling me she's a horrible mother and is thinking about ending her life after putting her kids up for adoption.

Well folks, we are almost there. Like the protagonists of AMC’s Zombie drama, fans have been given a lot of time to wander toward the end of this season, completely unsure of what lies ahead.
The first half of season 4 was The Walking Dead at its finest – high stakes, dramatic tension, and interpersonal drama played out much as we’d seen in the previous seasons (albeit with a more solid grasp on character motivations than the mediocre season 3).
But then The Walking Dead did something you rarely see with this mid-season break – ending the first half with the requisite brutal series of murders and violence, it settled into a much more relaxed pace for the second, dividing its main cast into little groups and sending them out to wander the wilderness, all eventually heading in the general direction of “Terminus”.

You’ve written an outstanding American period drama based on a poignant true story that serves as a stark commentary on current social issues, and I bet you’re pretty darn proud of yourself, aren’t you? Well you can wipe that smirk off your face, because you have only just begun your long and painful journey to the Dolby Theatre. In order to turn your script into an actual film you need actual people to make it, and if you want to win an Oscar it is imperative to pick the right cast and crew.

It all started out so easily.
All I had to do was answer a perfectly reasonable question from Andy Griffiths, who was curious to know what my Top 20 Doctor Who stories were. So the favourites started bobbing around my head in an all-singing, all-dancing maelstrom. The Web Of Fear. City Of Death. Can't forget The Caves Of Androzani. Don't forget to include a string of Hinchcliffe-Holmes classics.
By the time I'd got to the end of my mental list though I'd realised that it wasn't that simple. What about The Mind Of Evil? Or Midnight? Or The Invasion Of Time, which I'll still freely admit to being pretty damn good. They were jostling for attention like ashen-faced stray cats wanting to come in through the back door. Suddenly, producing a Top 20 of John's Favourites seemed about as easy as building your own Tardis from nothing but paper and duct tape.

Vanguard will release the 2010 British horror-thriller Cut on DVD on Oct. 25 for the list price of $19.95.
Danielle Lloyd receives no second chances in Cut.
Touted by its makers as “the first horror film shot in one continuous shot,” Cut follows a group of friends who find themselves in a bit of trouble after returning from a cocktail party to a cottage deep in the English woods. Having brushed off the notion of urban legends as rubbish, the good-looking young adults slowly find themselves weaving through their very own horror story.
Written and directed by Alexander Williams and starring Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Simon Phillips (The Last Seven), Dominic Burns (Airborne) and British glamor gal Danielle Lloyd, Cut offers some gimmicky, claustrophobic thrills and an occasional laugh to lighten the tension, or so we’ve heard. With no edits and a hopefully well-thought-out script and design, it could be fun…

The new feature from Dominic Burns (Cut) is one part thriller and one part suicide cult, as the film's first poster beckons you to "come die with me." In the trailer for this feature, a plane at 20,000 is ever going down, down, down...And actors Mark Hamill, Craig Conway (Dog Soldiers), Simon Phillips (The Last Seven) and Julian Glover (Mirrors) welcome you aboard one terrifying flight. Have an early look at this United Kingdom shot film, which will have you asking the stewardess for more booze and valium, in just under two minutes (courtesy of Dread Central).
The synopsis for Airborne is here:
"As a snowstorm closes in, one final plane takes off. The plane reports to the ground that both pilots are dead, while the slowly dwindling number of passengers on the plane wish that they'd never left the ground" (Dread).
Release Date: 2012.
Director: Dominic Burns.
Writer: Paul Chronnell.

Actor Jeffrey Weissman got his big break auditioning for, but not being cast in War Games. Instead he caught the attention of a big agent and was soon cast in the Twilight Zone movie in the, "Nightmare at 30,000 Feet" story, with John Lithgow. He did small parts in Johnny Dangerously, Crackers with Sean Penn and Donald Sutherland and a few guest star spots on TV series like Dallas and Scarecrow and Mrs. King before landing a co-starring role opposite Clint Eastwood in Pale Rider. In a recent interview he told us, "It was a gas being on location with Clint. He was a real gentleman and did everything first class. It was a nice event."
After that came Back to the Future II. He played George McFly, Marty’s father, in the two sequels. He recalled what struck him most about making the film was the set decoration.

I have to be honest- the life of a blogger and film reviewer is not always what it’s cut out to be. For every golden opportunity to talk about film, and pass on your enthusiasm about certain projects, there are also numerous times when it is difficult to offer anything other than miserable criticism when a film fails to inspire you in any way possible. On the surface of it, it might be easy to see Jack Falls as one such film- filmed cheaply and marketed as a comic noir in the British gangster genre- but to do so would be extremely unfair.
The third and final chapter in the ‘Jack Trilogy’ from writer/director Paul Tanter, Jack Falls completes the story of Jack Adleth (Simon Phillips), a former undercover police officer who returns to London on a mission of revenge against those who sought to kill him. The...

If your not living in the UK you probably haven't heard of this one. And even then you may not have! Jack Falls is an independent British feature based on the graphic novel of the same name by Paul Tanter. It's actually the third part of a trilogy, the first two movies are Jack Says and Jack Said. As you will see from the trailer, the flick is heavily influenced by Sin City's visual style. The cast of the movie includes Doug Bradley(Hellraiser) and Jason Flemying(Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class)as well as Tamer Hassan (Clash of The Titans), Simon Phillips (Jack Said, The Last Seven), Olivia Hallinan (Sugar Rush), Dexter Fletcher (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Kick Ass), Alan Ford (Snatch, Lock Stock), Adam Deacon (Adulthood, Kidulthood), Neil Maskell (The Football Factory), Zach Galligan (Gremlins) and Martin Kemp (The Krays) Surviving a murder attempt in Amsterdam,...

*Full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was supplied by Revolver Entertainment.
Director/writer: Sacha Bennett.
Bonded by Blood is loosely based on a group murder carried out December, 1995. The three killed were Patrick Tate, Craig Rolfe and Tony Tucker, each a drug dealer. These villains have been immortalized unjustly in three films, which include: The Essex Boys (2000), Rise of the Foot Soldier (2007) and now Bonded by Blood (2011). Likely killed by Jack Whomes and Michael Steele, who remain in prison, Bonded by Blood covers a detestable subject (drug dealing), with little depth. Revolver Entertainment will distribute this title on DVD February 1st and this film is really only for those who enjoy watching gangland styled films, as there is no positive moral tale here.
Many may have heard the story of The Intercity Firm and their coke induced exploits, but for those who have not - here is a summary.

White Collar returns with new episodes in January.
And Matt Bomer has a promise for fans of the USA hit who have been anxious to learn about the music box and other mysteries: your patience will be rewarded.
"The last seven episodes are really heavy," Bomer told TV Guide this week. "Pretty much all the questions that we've asked for the first couple of seasons come to a head and get answered."
The star also revealed that January's return episode will pick up a few weeks after the gun shot that took down Mozzie on the summer finale. Refresh your memory of that event via our review of the episode - and visit TV Fanatic for weekly recaps, photos, quotes and more once this series comes back.

Last Seven UK Art*Here be spoilers.
Director: Imran Naqvi.
Writer: John Stanley.
The Last Seven is a London shot film from a series of production companies including: Goliath Productions, Nightshade Productions, Press on Features, and Vesuvius Film Partners. The film was released in the United Kingdom August 27th, with a DVD/Blu-Ray release August 30th. Starring are the usual Brit' suspects: Tamer Hassan, Simon Phillips, Danny Dyer and others, with the film delving into the spiritual realm through graphic character flashbacks. The Last Seven is a slow paced thriller without an initial hook, which left this viewer slightly unsatisfied. On the plus side, there is beautiful cinematography and solid acting from the core group of actors and the film does take on some interesting existential themes. Plus Danny Dyer is in one of his first serious roles.
The film involves seven strangers waking up at the same time in a deserted London.

I agree that last week's Trailer Park featured a less-than-exciting crop of trailers, but the voter turnout in the poll was dreadful. Did Labor Day activities keep you all away from choosing a favorite? Seriously, last week's winner, the Russian-dubbed trailer for 13 came on top with only 9 votes, which edged it out over second choice, Hobo with a Shotgun (8 votes) and Kings of Pastry (7 votes).
Hopefully the ten trailers I've rounded up this week will be of more interest to you. Thanks to the release of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D, the bulk of new film ads involve either post-apocalyptic worlds or zombies or at least some kind of horror element -- and sure, I'll count Gwyneth Paltrow singing country music (in Country Strong) as pretty horrific. Even the latest from Clint Eastwood, Hereafter, deals with a psychic (Matt Damon) who can talk to the dead, and a woman (Cecile de...

There are seven people in “The Last Seven”, and each one has no memory of who they are, only that they have awakened in a completely deserted London. Eventually, the seven come together, and try to figure out what’s happening to the city around them. Okay, not really; they mostly just bitch at each other and walk around. Slowly but surely, though, they began to remember things – memories from their past that starts to shed light on their current condition. Meanwhile, a mysterious, bleeding figure in black (the ubiquitous Danny Dyer) stalks them from the shadows. Sound interesting to you? Well it sounded interesting to me. Then again, I’m a sucker for these type of movies – disparate strangers in a strange location must work together to survive? Yes, please! “The Last Seven” marks the feature film directorial debut of Imran Naqvi, and while it’s not the best...

The premise of Pakistani filmmaker Imran Naqvi‘s straight-to-dvd release, The Last Seven is not a complex one. A number of people (in this case, seven) wake up in a mysteriously empty metropolis (in this case, London) with no recollection of how they got there or what happened to the rest of the population. Ironically enough, it sounds an awful lot like the upcoming Brad Anderson flick, Vanishing on 7th Street.
The “why am I here and who can I trust” vibes the below trailer puts off remind me an awful lot of Cube, an original and thrilling low-budget foreign (Canadian) indie that I very much enjoyed.
The Last Seven is already available on DVD in the U.K. (and Amazon), but be warned: the infamous Tomatometer currently gives this film a 0% Fresh rating. You should know that the rating comes, in another twist of numerical coincidence, from only seven reviews,...

London Population: 7 Million. Until Today. I've never heard of this film before today, but it doesn't actually look that bad, although I will admit that I think we're starting to see a little too many of these "a few people are left alive" post-apocalyptic thrillers these days. Film School Rejects recently featured the trailer for The Last Seven, a straight-to-dvd film directed by Imran Naqvi about seven people in London who find out they're apparently the last seven people in existence. What happened? And what's going to happen next? I really like the vibe in this, I'm surprised it's just a DVD release, but I guess not everything can be theatrical. t the official UK trailer for Imran Naqvi's The Last Seven: The Last Seven is directed by Pakistani filmmaker Imran Naqvi, a former steadicam operator who's making his feature directing debut. The screenplay was by written by newcomer John Stanley.

Pandemic, alien invasion or Zombie Apocalypse? The latest trailer (and poster) for Imran Naqvi’s horror thriller The Last Seven still isn’t giving much away as to what disaster befalls London - and why 7 strangers have survived in a city that once home to over 8 million - but has us intrigued enough to want to see more. The Maid (15)
(Sebastián Silva, 2009, Chile) Catalina Saavedra, Claudia Celedón, Mariana Loyola. 96 mins
Less a slice of upstairs-downstairs realism than a black comedy that threatens to turn into a horror movie, this Chilean drama has been scooping awards across the globe, mostly for Saavedra's acting. She's a bravely monstrous creation, a long-suffering help whose resentments rise to the boil, particularly when a younger assistant is foisted on her. But just when we're ready to write her off, this agile, low-budget drama turns it round and confronts us with our own heartlessness. That's us served.
Scott Pilgrim Vs The World (12A)
(Edgar Wright, 2010 Us) Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ellen Wong. 112 mins
This tireless tale of modern loserdom, filtered through pop-culture consciousness, will push the buttons of younger fans, with its onslaught of music/comic book/videogame tricks and hipster humour. Older viewers may need a lie down.

Metrodome have just sent me a movie that I’ve been looking forward to seeing for some time as Jon and I got to visit the set earlier in the year (you can see our set photos from the shoot here). It’s called The Last Seven and stars Tamer Hassan, Simon Phillips, Danny Dyer, Sebastian Street and Rita Ramnani and is directed by Imran Naqvi.
The movie what turns out to be the final seven people on earth struggling to come to terms with where they are.
In a not-too-distant future, the face of London has changed dramatically. Stung by ineffectual politics, a rapidly expanding population and the ravages of climate change it can no longer take the strain and collapses in on itself. Down from 7 million, now only 7 individuals remain and together they must form a new society in the face of a desperate, unforgiving future.

Danny Dyer has become the byword for low-budget, no-quality Brit-trash cinema, but beneath the cockney swagger there's a decent actor struggling to get out. Stuart Heritage comes to the rescue
Last Tuesday saw the premiere of a new Danny Dyer film, Basement (the Daily Mail reported that the most glamorous guest at the event was someone who came third on Big Brother in 2006). Admittedly a new Dyer film is not really news, given that he knocks them out with such exhausting frequency that he makes Nicolas Cage look like Jd Salinger. In fact, he's got another one, The Last Seven, coming out next week. By the end of the year, Dyer will have starred in 20 films since 2004, with enough spare time to squeeze in 11 TV shows, two plays, a Grand Theft Auto game, countless radio commercials for everything from UKTV Gold to Exchange & Mart, his online store (where you can...
