Tota Roy Chowdhury is the fittest Feluda till date, he excels in athletics, martial arts, karate, and other habits in his real life. Ray had also described Feluda as a very fit person who excels in karate, sports, and shooting in his writings.

An audience poll was conducted in order to choose the actor for Feluda's role consisting of the names of four Bengali actors namely Abir, Anirban, Tota, and Indraniel. Though Abir secured the highest number of votes but later Tota Roy Chowdhury was finalized for the role after judging various factors.
Director Srijit Mukherji had previously designed a play called Feluda Pherot, which was basically based on a fan fiction on the sleuth. In this play, Barun Chanda and Parambrata Chatterjee played the roles of an older version of Feluda and Topshe respectively.
