A cross between "Hollywood Shuffle"(another low budget satire set in Hollywood) and what you might see late @ night on Cinemax, this is film quite funny in a lot of spots and definitely raunchy. The biggest standout in the cast is Aaron Miller, who plays wannabe actor, Chris Grier. Every time he's on screen, he elicits big laughs that are well deserved. Somebody get this kid a movie deal!!
Overall, well worth the time. Hopefully it will get the attention and distribution it deserves. It's currently being screened during the L.A. Comedy Festival @ the Acme Comedy Theater in Hollywood, with the last showing this Sunday night.

Drama Kings is so funny me an my boyfriend couldn't stop laughing. Every scene is filled with laughs. I rarely laugh out loud but this is a laugh out loud script. The actors are so hysterical. I wanna see it over and over again. I loved all the actors and especially loves the actor who played Chris Grier, AAron Miller. His facial and physical comedy is natural and I would see any movie he is in. The movie tells a tale of actors trying to get jobs in Hollywood. As an actor i can say that it rings so true it makes you laugh. I especially love the commercial audition scenes. Run out to see this film. You wont regret it.
Hi! I saw a screening last week and the whole theater laughed out loud through the whole thing and there was a huge ovation! I think it's the FUNNIEST movie I've seen all year. It had amazing comedy writing with layered dialog (Seamen Beer then later "this tastes just like Seamen" was awesome) and lots of twists and turns in the plot. It was kind of a multiple story line thing but I don't want to give away spoilers or I might get banned from IMDb and I just signed up. The acting was funny and the characters were all likable even the creepy ones. It also had one of the most hysterical opening sequences I've ever seen IN MY LIFE, with actors going on weird auditions. During that part I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe and my tears messed up my makeup. So funny I'm laughing now! Even the Q and A with the directors was awesome and funny. I think "Drama Kings" will become a "Clerks" type cult classic and start some huge careers for the filmmakers. I want to see what else they can make! 11/10! :)
Drama Kings is a perfect Hollywood film. It is filled with laughs and craziness. The main characters are over the top aspiring actors that are fighting for the same role. For someone in Hollywood, the jokes ring like they are personal and private. For others dreaming of Hollywood, Drama Kings is a window into the craziness that actors go thru to get a part. All done with side splitting tongue and cheek. Aaron Miller is a star waiting to break out. His is hysterical!!! Stacy Miller as his mother, nails it!! You never know what she will do next. And just when you think it cant get anymore insane, in walks Gilbert the casting director. Frank Iwan Jr. brings such a smarmy hilarity to the role he had me squirming in my seat. Dane Anderson and Bryan Watkins are writers/directors in the same vein as Matt and Ben. Take my advice and go see this movie, it's a blast. **** 4 stars.
It was like "Swingers" on laughing gas. The main guy is seriously something else. Hilarious in the same way Jim Carrey was on "In Living Color." And the supporting cast was great too. So many funny people all in one place. Over the top, but in the best way possible.
And the story was great. Four wannabe actors competing for the same part. Classic. And the audition scenes at the beginning (my favorite part) had non-stop laughs the night I was there.
It was the only film playing three nights at the LA Comedy fest., but regrettably, I only got to see it once. I had to work the other two nights. (Damn the man!) But the night I saw it, the crowd was roaring. I spilled my drink on the girl in front of me in mid-laugh at one point, and she didn't even care. She was cracking up too! Haha!
