'Braid wigs' and more foolishness.

Why would a movie that's about changing the laws of braiding have every cast member with 'braids' in a braid wig, especially when 1 of the producers owns natural hair salons?

The writing was all over the place. I did enjoy that this is based on a true story and some of the actors were great. The actress that played Melony was great and her sister-in law. I didn't buy the husband's 'Mississippi accent'.

I love the sisterhood of it all,and overall it's ok,but some parts are unbelievably silly. I'll just say that if you've ever gotten braids in your hair you would not be waiting with a bunch of people for your turn as most(braid) styles take from 4-12+ hours.

I am proud of the true story and the outcome, but I had to watch this movie in sections because I was sleepy half the time, and trying to take the writing seriously the other half.

I enjoyed it.

It was obviously low-budget, and the writing and acting could have been better, but I still enjoyed and and would probably want to watch it again some day.

To be honest, I watched it because I read some very rude, not to mention cruel, complaints about the movie, and wanted to decide for myself.

It does bother me that the main actress is listed fourth down (beneath two white women) in the IMDB credits, which apparently is based on the order on the movie credits. The two white women didn't appear until the latter part of the move, and one had a tiny role, yet they received higher billing. What's the deal?

Loved it

I'm so proud of Melony. Her story has been told. The actress who played her did an amazing job. The togetherness of a marriage was displayed in this movie. Meliny's story talked much about perseverance. Never give up; no matter the obstacles thrown your way. Kudos to the director, writer, producer and crew.

Standing up for people other your family, it takes a big heart to do so. A little struggle for one person can turn out to be a lifelong blessing for someone else. I was truly inspired to be the change that I want to see in the world. If you're unsure if you want to watch this movie, watch it.

pretty

I loved the historical side of this movie and how injustice is shown in white states like Mississippi. Some laws still need to be changed to respect everyone.

You can tell it's a low budget and I didn't like how most of the girls were wearing wigs when the movie is about natural beauty and i understand that wigs are easier for film set but it was still sad. I would have been fine if the main character had a wig because she changes hairstyles a lot during the movies but the trainees don't.

Sophia bush in this role felt like the closest version of herself and even if i added that movie because of her, i stayed because the story and womanhood.
