Following the Movie's Success, Netflix’s 'Minecraft' Gets Creative With 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and 'Ms. Marvel' Writers

Last year, Netflix announced it was teaming up with Mojang to create aMinecraftanimated series. While updates for this project remained silent, perhaps due to the primary focus on A Minecraft Movie, an update was announced during this year's Annecy Animation Film Festival. Not only is this Minecraft series moving forward, but it has also found a team of writers. One of them worked on the Marvel anthology series What If...?

According to Netflix's Director of Content Acquisition - Kids, Dominique Bazay, spoke at the Netflix Series Animation: Get Ready for What's Next! Presentation, revealing the creative team involved in the new Minecraft project. Leading this project and listed as showrunners are Kevin Adams and Joe Ksander, who previously worked on the 2019 Netflix animated film Next Gen and Tmnt: We Strike Hard and Fade Away Into the Night. 'The Real Ghostbusters' Has a New Streaming Home, and Its Free!

As much love as the Ghostbusters films get, some fans will still be surprised to discover that there is also an animated series that not only takes the lore forward but also deepens it.The Real Ghostbusters is a wacky, animated spin-off series that has a sort of cult following. But fans of the franchise will not have to scramble to see the series anymore as Roku has added the series to its ad-supported streaming lineup.

Fans will be able to watch the series that ran for seven seasons between 1986 and 1991. Out of 140 episodes, 117 episodes are available on the streaming service for free. A spin-off and sequel to the original Ghostbusters film, the animated series continues the adventures of four paranormal investigators – Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Egon Spengler, Dr. Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddemore – and their secretary, Janine Melnitz, as they continue their supernatural pest-control business with the help of their mascot ghost Slimer.

The New 'Ghostbusters' Animated Series Just Got a Super Spooky Production Update

It's been 5 years since the Ghostbusters animated series was first announced. This upcoming CGI series will be released on Netflix and has Elliott Kalan listed as one of the writers. It won't be long until more names are attached to the project, as the show has shared an exciting production update.

Australian animation studio Flying Bark Productions shared on social media that it's looking for talented artists to "take on the paranormal." According to the company's vacancy page, over 20 roles need to be filled, some of which allow remote workers. The job listings didn't disclose the deadline for these applications, but at least we know that production for the show is about to start.

First finalists announced for Spa Awards

Screen Producers Australia (Spa) has unveiled the first finalists for its 2022 awards, which will cover an extended, two-year period due to Covid-19.

Announced today are the nominees in three categories: Animated Series Production of the Year, Children’s Series Production of the Year and Online Series Production of the Year.

The children’s category looks to be particularly competitive, including second seasons of the Emmy-winning Bluey (Ludo Studio) and Hardball (Northern Pictures) and the currently Emmy-nominated First Day (Epic Films), in addition to 100% Wolf: Legend of the Moonstone (Flying Bark Productions), Are You Tougher Than Your Ancestors? (Sticky Pictures/Flying Kite Pictures), Itch (Komixx Entertainment) and The New Legends of Monkey (See-Saw Films).

Flying Bark is also up for the animated series gong for Lego: Monkie Kid, as is Ludo Studio for The Strange Chores with Media World Pictures. Also earning two nominations is Mashup Pictures, with Phenomena and Youth on Strike!
