Paijana is the first winner from India of the reputed international one-minute film festival, Filminute. Paijana was adjudged Filminute 2016 by a jury led by the Taiwanese auteur, Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
As per the jury:
"The film edged out a number of other very good films, ultimately winning for its engaging intimacy, honesty and complexity. One juror commented, "strong social commentary wrapped up in a gripping romance with a powerful reveal!"
