Mystery Team was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2009. It will premier theatrically on August 27, 2009, in Austin, Texas, and will be released on DVD May 25, 2010.
The father was a lawyer working on the lumber union dispute and he found out about the plan to fire the union members and save money by using a toxic chemical to treat the wood with. So he, along with his wife, were killed.
