Forget Venom: Marvel Finally Gives An Official Name And Identity To Its Most Mysterious Symbiote
Image
Warning: Contains Potential Spoilers for All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider #3!

Venom is obviously Marvel’s most popular symbiote, but the one with a connection to Spider-Gwenis officially taking on a new name, identity, and a shockingly villainous role moving forward. As Earth-65’s Gwen Stacy, also known as Ghost-Spider, officially moves to Marvel’s main continuity on Earth-616, the symbiote she’s grown attached to over the years is taking a rough turn.

As part of Marvel Comics’ solicitations for October 2025, Marvel released new details for the upcoming All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost Spider #3. After Spider-Gwen’s series relaunches in August, along with Gwen’s permanent move to the main comic universe, the hero’s famous symbiote suitwill officially become her frightening new nemesis.

Gwen’s former symbiote now calls itself Tantrum and has turned against her after being left behind in the character’s all-new era. After years of providing...

The 11th edition of the festival runs June 16-22 in Bentonville, Ark. with founding partner Walmart, presenting partner Coca-Cola and a partnership with Variety’s Producers to Watch. This year’s festival lineup features 28 feature films in competition, including nine world premieres, curated by artistic director Drea Clark.

Zainab Azizi

“Don’t Move”

Azizi says her films are like her children — she loves them all. But she’s particularly proud of Brian Netto and Adam Schindler’s “Don’t Move” (2024), about a grieving mother (Kelsey Asbille) kidnapped and injected with a paralytic agent by a seemingly kind stranger (Finn Wittrock). She got the script from manager Marc Manus and liked what she read. So she quickly assembled the financing, and six months later, she was in Bulgaria shooting the California-set thriller,...

"Here to Stay": See Spider-Gwen's Permanent Redesign Now
Image
As Gwen Stacy's Spider-Gwen gets a new series, Marvel is redesigning the hero with an awesome new costume. Originally from the alternate reality of Earth-65, Gwen recently left her home reality, joining the Time Variance Authority and even merging with a Cosmic Cube. Now, she's settling down in Marvel's mainstream Earth-616 with a brand-new look.

In a recent reveal, Marvel has shared details for All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #1, promising that the new series from Stephanie Phillips and Paolo Villanelli will redesign Gwen as a permanent Earth-616 hero. Indeed, Ghost-Spider is even getting new powers.

While fans don't know what new powers Gwen Stacy will have, they do have a great look at the new costume. The new costume is black and pink with a white cowl and coat, with cyan piping and a loose utility belt. These are Gwen's traditional colors, but with a new focus on a black base suit.

Cannes Film Festival
Ariana Greenblatt of Barbie, 65, and Borderlands, Billy Magnussen of No Time to Die, Road House, and The Franchise, and Ella Purnell of Fallout, Yellowjackets, and Army of the Dead have signed on to star in the “riotous” comedy thriller Hot Ted, which will mark the feature directorial debut of Saturday Night Live segment director Hannah Levy. Protagonist Pictures will be launching worldwide sales at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.

Scripted by Grace McLeod, Hot Ted has the following synopsis: When 16-year-old true-crime podcast enthusiast Zoe’s (Greenblatt) parents send her to Camp Shady Pines for the summer against her will, she’s the immediate black sheep of the Beaver Cabin. The summer takes a turn when their bunk counselor Liz doesn’t arrive for breakfast one morning, and Zoe’s counselor crush Amy (Purnell) tells everyone Liz had to leave for a “family emergency.” But Zoe doesn’t buy...

10 Actors Who Always Make Bad Movies Better
Image
There are a lot of elements that go into making a movie great, from the screenplay, to the direction, and even the editing. It's not uncommon for the main factor to be the actors, as is the case for some of the worst movies ever made. Some of the best "so bad it's good" movies of all time have performances that are so terrible, they're somehow more memorable than some of their actors' greater roles. However, being in a bad movie hasn't stopped some actors from maintaining their reputations in Hollywood.

As proven time and time again, actors cannot be judged by the quality of their worst movies. Some undoubtedly incredible actors have made misguided choices in their careers, whether it's a poor attempt at gaining mainstream attention or a project that just simply didn't come out they way they intended. For years, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were ridiculed...

Primitive War (2025)
‘Primitive War’ Official Trailer – A Vietnam War Movie Gets Invaded by Dinosaurs!
Primitive War (2025)
They call it “high concept.” In the upcoming Primitive War, soldiers in Vietnam do battle with prehistoric dinosaurs, and the teaser trailer for the action/horror/sci-fi movie has arrived.

Debuted by THR this morning, watch the teaser trailer for Primitive War below! “This ain’t no walk in the park,” the trailer promises, taking a shot at Jurassic Park in the process.

On that note, it’s awesome to see filmmakers outside the Jurassic franchise playing with dinosaurs, as that’s something we haven’t seen enough of over the years. The high concept approach to the material here reminds us a bit of the 2023 movie 65, which saw Adam Driver going up against dinosaurs. And it looks like Primitive War has enough of a budget behind it to make the dinosaur action look pretty damn good, which gives us hope for this one.

Expect Primitive War to stomp...

Apple TV+ snaps up drama series starring award-winning actors
Image
Apple TV+ has ordered a new drama series, and you won't believe who is set to star in it. It's titled The Dealer, and we shared everything there is to know about this upcoming show right below.

Let's be honest. Apple TV+ has some pretty solid shows, but the streaming service does a bad job at promoting its content. However, we've seen some shows like Ted Lasso and Severance break through the clutter and capture widespread attention. We're hoping this new Apple TV+ series gets the same kind of buzz. With two well-known, award-winning actors leading the show, it has all the potential to draw in a wide audience and become the next breakout hit.

Media Res is the production company behind The Dealer. This company is also behind other Apple TV+ series like The Morning Show, Pachinko and Extrapolations. Lucas Hnath is signed on to write the scripts for...

Marvel Studios Debuting an Iconic Spider-Man Hero Can Finally Improve a 60-Year-Old Romance
Image
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man took inspiration from Spider-Man's portrayal in the MCU but, in the spirit of the Multiverse Saga, made some key alterations that sent Peter Parker's story spiraling in a radical new direction. In this version of Spider-Man's origin story, the young superhero has been mentored by Norman Osborn, aka Green Goblin in the source material. Season 1 also partnered Peter up with a supporting cast not normally associated with Spider-Man, including Nico Minoru and Pearl Pangan.

Seasons 2 and 3 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man have already been confirmed to be coming to Disney+, while showrunner Jeff Trammell has teased the possibility of a Season 4 and beyond. Fan theories are already flying concerning characters that might turn up in future seasons of the series. Osborn seems to be on a path towards assuming his villainous alter ego, Lonnie Lincoln is already in danger of clashing with Spider-Man as Tombstone and...

Marvel "confirms" MCU icon will return from the dead
Image
The number one rule of comic books is that nobody stays dead. Thanks to the Multiverse Saga, that appears to be the case in the Marvel Cinematic Universe too, as the franchise has come up with some unique ways to bring back some previously dearly departed characters. Now, fans are convinced that they've done it again.

In 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was released in theaters and it ended with the apparent death of Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch. Most people (this writer included) didn’t believe that she died. As weird as it is to say, tons of rocks falling on her isn’t enough to keep Wanda down because she's the most powerful being in the whole universe. And since Elizabeth Olsen hasn’t confirmed or denied if she’s returning to the MCU, the door to her return remains open. That said,...

I'm Worried Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is Making a Mistake With This Spider-Verse Character in Season 2
Image
Quick LinksSpider-Gwen is One of the Most Popular Marvel Characters in Recent HistorySpider-Gwen Works Best When She Comes From an Alternate UniverseYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's Version of Gwen Stacy Could Be Spectacular

The following contains minor spoilers for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, now streaming on Disney+.

Based on the marketing, I did not expect to enjoy Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and the early episodes did little to prove me wrong. The humor rarely landed for me, and unlike in the best Spider-Man stories, I found myself struggling to care about the events of Peter Parker's personal life. However, by the end of the first season, I was having a good time with the series. Though it certainly did not reach the heights of my favorite superhero cartoons, like The Spectacular Spider-Man, the plot surrounding Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius was entertaining, as was the series’ vicious depiction of Scorpion. If...

‘Barbie,’ ‘A Thousand and One’ and ‘Joy Ride’ Rank Among the Inclusion List’s 150 Most Inclusive Films
Image
Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” was a poster child for the power of inclusion when it broke box office records in 2023, but the $1.45 billion-grossing movie is only the 119th most inclusive film made in the past five years, according to the Inclusion List.

The annual list — presented by Dr. Stacy L. Smith and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, in collaboration with the Adobe Foundation — is a data-driven ranking that identified the 150 most inclusive films from 2019 to 2023 and ranks a single year’s films across gender, race/ethnicity, LGBTQ+, disability and age representation.

“Our goal with the Inclusion List is to celebrate those who are showcasing and working with exceptional talent from all backgrounds,” stated Dr. Smith in a press release announcing the researchers’ findings. “In the second year of its release, the newest iteration of the Inclusion List spotlights films, filmmakers, and distributors who clearly demonstrate that inclusion...

Adam Driver's '65' is Roaring on Hulu Despite a Terrible 36% on Rotten Tomatoes
Image
You just never know what movie that bombed in theaters will become a streaming hit. The latest example is 65, the much-maligned dinosaur sci-fi thriller with Adam Driver. It opened to a measly $12.3 million on its way to $60.7 million worldwide on a reported $45 million budget (not including marketing costs). Considering studios and theaters split the box office almost evenly, it was nearly a total disaster.

And yet, it recently roared to number two on Hulu's Top 10 streaming list, making it a streaming hit for another otherwise dismal film. It currently sits at a terrible 36% by critics on Rotten Tomatoes, yet audiences love it more, giving it a surprisingly high 64%. Just months after its terrible March 2023 theatrical debut, 65 was number one on Netflix. Audiences still love dinosaur movies.

Driver stars as Mills, an astronaut who leaves Earth along with his wife and sick daughter to explore the galaxy on a multi-year mission.

Where To Watch 65
Image
The Adam Driver-fronted sci-fi action movie 65 premiered theatrically in 2023 and it has since enjoyed a home on various streaming services ever since. 65 follows Adam Driver's Mills - a pilot who crash-lands on Earth 65 million years in the past during the Cretaceous period. What separates 65 from the likes of Jurassic Park is that Mills has all manner of futuristic weapons at his disposal, making for a unique dinosaur movie concept. 65 comes from the mind of A Quiet Place creators Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and had the potential to be the duo's next big franchise-starter.

One of many sci-fi movies in 2023, 65 was originally planned for an April 2022 release. This was delayed by almost a year to March 2023. As a result, 65 ran into major competition thanks to Scream VI, and despite its creative concept, it did not yield the box office result that Sony wanted.

Adam Driver’s 36% Rotten Tomatoes Sci-Fi Thriller Gets a Second Chance at Streaming Success on a New Platform
Image
Adam Driver will always be known for his role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but several years after he put down his lightsaber for good, he also starred in another sci-fi flick that just got a major streaming update. Driver stars alongside Ariana Greenblatt in 65, the futuristic dinosaur adventure thriller that’s currently streaming on Netflix, but will leave the platform on January 7. While this was devastating news for a while, as it seems 65 had no new streaming home in sight, Hulu has swooped in to save the day and announced that the film will begin streaming on the platform on January 8. 65 earned scores of 36% from critics and 74% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed only $60 million worldwide on a $45 million budget.

Adam Driver’s Sci-Fi Thriller Getting New Streaming Home Nearly 2 Years After $60M Disappointment
Image
As much as Adam Driver's career has reached some impressive highs, it has been met with some notable lows. On the one hand, Driver has been a part of some major moneymakers over the past decade. All three of his Star Wars movies made over $1 billion, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens making just shy of $2.1 billion. On the other hand, however, Driver has played roles in films that have lost boatloads of money. Most infamously, he played the lead in Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis, which made a mere $13.8 million on an $120 million budget.

The same disparity applies to the critical reception of Driver's films as well. The actor has been a part of indie darlings like Frances Ha and Inside Llewyn Davis that have earned Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes scores of over 90%. His work has been praised in similarly high-scoring movies like Paterson and Marriage Story. On the other hand,...

Adam Driver Sci-Fi Movie With 36% Rt Score Is Leaving Netflix Very Soon
Image
Adam Driver has had an idiosyncratic career. He is simultaneously a beloved independent film actor who has also taken on controversial mainstream roles. Perhaps his most ire-inspiring role was playing Kylo Ren in the newer Star Wars movie, whose last installment, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, dismayed many fans. At the same time, however, Driver is a scene-stealer in movies like Inside Llewyn Davis and Frances Ha, which came out before his foray into a galaxy far, far away.

Driver's films have also gained notoriety in meme culture, and this year is no exception. The actor led the ensemble of Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis, a dystopian sci-fi fantasy romp that was met with divisive responses. While some critics appreciated his performance, lines from the film, especially his delivery of "go back to the club." Before Megalopolis, Driver's Marriage Story character was among his most-memed works outside of Star Wars,...

Adam Driver’s Wild Zombie Movie Finding New Life On Streaming 5 Years After 54% Rt Disappointment

Adam Driver, whose early work included Francis Ha and Inside Llewyn Davis, along with the HBO comedy series Girls, has an ongoing and expansive film slate. From acclaimed dramas, with varying budgets, to blockbuster franchises, his acting career enchants audiences and renowned Hollywood talent alike. Over the years, Driver has appeared in movies helmed by Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese and Ridley Scott. He also received consecutive Academy Award nominations in 2018 and 2019 for his performances in BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story, directed by Spike Lee and Noah Baumbach, respectively.

Despite having starred in prominent award contenders, Driver is no stranger to genre movies. His most famous, and potentially debatable, role to date is Kylo Ren from Star Wars, a former antagonist who died in the 2019 sequel, The Rise of Skywalker. He also appeared in Midnight Special and 65, portraying an astronaut who inadvertently crash lands on what is revealed to be a prehistoric Earth.

Yes, Marvel Just Added Spider-Gwen to MCU Canon, But It Did So In the Most Complicated Way
Image
This post contains a Preview for Tva #1

Spider-Gwen is technically now part of the MCU canon, albeit in a pretty complex way. Following the events of Loki season 2, Tom Hiddleston's titular God of Mischief destroyed the Temporal Loom and freed multiple timelines. This sacrificial act has led to a new era for the Time Variance Authority under the leadership of B-15 and Agent Mobius to monitor and protect all these new timelines. However, it seems as though they've also brought some fresh faces on board, such as their new recruit Ghost-Spider aka Spider-Gwen.

As seen in the new preview for Tva #1 by Loki season 2 writer Katharyn Blair and artist Pere Pérez, Spider-Gwen is now officially part of the Time Variance Authority, having received their assistance after her recent displacement from her home timeline of Earth-65. Likewise, the new preview confirms that the Tva is the same MCU version...

‘Heretic’ Directors on Making Hugh Grant Evil and Their Ambitious Idea for ‘Spiritual Sequels’ That Go to ‘Uncomfortable Places’
Image
Spoiler Alert: This interview contains mild spoilers for “Heretic,” in theaters now.

In their new movie “Heretic,” now in theaters via A24, writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods tell the story of a mysterious man named Mr. Reed, who traps two Mormon missionaries in his house after they try to educate him about their faith.

Before they could begin filming, Beck and Woods had the unique challenge of casting the complicated character of Mr. Reed. They needed a lead actor who could switch between villainous and charming in the blink of an eye, who could also deliver plenty of deep dialogue about religious ideas.

It wasn’t a role for the faint of heart, but Beck and Woods thought of Hugh Grant after seeing one of his shapeshifting performances.

“We’ve been blown away by Hugh — of course, we grew up with all of his incredible romantic comedies,” Woods says.

'Heretic' Review - Hugh Grant Preaches Bad News About the Good Word in Religious Horror
Image
When it comes to religious horror films, most entries in the genre usually stay in fairly familiar territory. Demon possession, evil antichrist babies, and the devil manipulating ones actions are all within the usual realm of the religious horror movie. Rarely, however, do horror films deal with the actual fear of having faith in a religion, the uncertainty of putting your trust in something that might be false, or the inner turmoil that is a crisis of faith. Heretic, the latest film from writer-director team Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, focuses less on the horror and more on the religion in their A24 film, a smart move that makes it stand out within the genre.

Why Heretic's Reviews Are So Positive: 94% Rotten Tomatoes Score Explained

Hugh Grant's new movie Heretic is one of the highest-rated horror movies of the year, currently holding a Rotten Tomatoes score of 94%. Additionally, Heretic is one of the most critically-acclaimed movies of Grant's career. Grant is an actor not commonly known for starring in horror movies, so his turn as the diabolical Mr. Reed in Heretic is surprising. In addition to Grant, the cast of Heretic includes Sophie Thatcher, Chloe East, and Topher Grace.

The story of A24's newest horror movie follows two young missionaries, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, who are invited into Mr. Reed's home to talk about their faith. However, they quickly discover that Mr. Reed is not the nice man he initially seemed to be, and get caught in a horrifying game of cat and mouse within his house. Heretic Aims To Make Hugh Grant A Horror Star At The Box Office

October ended up being a bit of a bust relative to very high expectations, so far as the overall box office was concerned. "Joker: Folie a Deux" bombed in spectacular fashion, starting things off on a low note. "Venom: The Last Dance" certainly didn't bomb, but it also didn't make nearly as much as the first two entries in that trilogy did either. Once again, though, horror was here to save the day as "Terrifier 3" shocked the industry with a killer overperformance, while "Smile 2" cemented Paramount's budding new franchise. So, can a villain turn by Hugh Grant help keep the horror strong in November as A24's "Heretic" hits theaters?

"Heretic" is currently eyeing a debut between $9 and $16 million when it arrives next weekend, per Box Office Theory. Its only directed competition is Lionsgate's "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." Safe to say, these two films are...

Heretic (2024) Movie Review: Hugh Grant Blesses a Passable Thriller of Circular Theological Debates
Emily Blunt in Sans un bruit (2018)
The entire team behind the original “A Quiet Place” has more or less cashed in on the goodwill from that first film to the fullest possible extent—including the I.P. itself, instantly proving that it can’t be sustained for more than a single outing. Not least of these savvy artists is its pair of screenwriters, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who’ve leveraged the success of their neat little premise (as long as you don’t think about it for more than 15 seconds) into a support line for their flailing joint career as writer-directors. Now, just over a year after somehow making “Adam Driver Fights Dinosaurs” boring, Beck and Woods return with a new selling point unlikely to fail them quite as surprisingly as their previous one had.

We all love a good theological debate—mostly because they can make you feel smart and superior to those around you...

Adam Driver's 10 Best Movies (Outside Star Wars)
Image
Adam Driver's role as Ben Solo/Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy was one of the highlights of those movies, but these 10 roles represent his best performances outside the Star Wars franchise. Driver's filmography is truly fascinating. After getting his big break in the Lena Dunham comedy-drama show Girls as her on-again-off-again boyfriend (also named Adam), Driver landed Star Wars. Despite that massive role, Driver stepped back from major franchises and began taking on roles in a wide array of genres.

Star Wars remains one of Driver's best roles. Although the sequel trilogy is controversial among Star Wars' movies and TV shows, with many still considering them some of Star Wars' worst movies, Kylo Ren was generally well-received and ultimately proved to be one of Star Wars' best characters. Kylo Ren was far from the only role that proved what a brilliant actor Driver is, though.

Hugh Grant Creeps Us Out With A Terrifying, Unholy Game In The New Heretic Trailer
Image
It's safe to say you haven't seen Hugh Grant quite like this. The lovable character actor has always been something of a chameleon, appearing in everything from family-friendly comedies (most recently "Paddington 2") to murder-mysteries (director Rian Johnson's "Glass Onion") to harder-edged genre movies (Guy Ritchie's "The Gentlemen" in 2019 and "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre" last year) to blockbuster musicals and adventure movies -- hello, scene-stealing appearances as an Oompa Loompa in "Wonka" and as Forge in "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves." His next role is utterly unlike any of those previous ones, however. Leave it to A24 and directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods to bring out a whole new side of him in "Heretic."

Let's put it this way: If you ever thought that nothing could possibly be more annoying than religious missionaries going door-to-door to spread the good news of whatever they might be hawking,...

New ‘Heretic’ Trailer Teases What’s Behind the Door in Holy Horror Movie from A24
Scott Beck
A new trailer has arrived for writing/directing duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ upcoming theological horror movie Heretic, giving a tiny peek at the holy horror lurking behind the door of Hugh Grant’s sinister villain. Watch the new Heretic trailer down below.

A24 will release Heretic in theaters on November 8, 2024.

Hugh Grant (D&d: Honor Among Thieves), Chloe East (The Fabelmans), and Sophie Thatcher (“Yellowjackets”) lead the cast of the upcoming horror movie.

In the film, “Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.”

The initial trailer teased that Mr. Reed would prompt his captives to choose between two doors: Believe and Disbelief. While the new trailer doesn’t reveal much, it gives a glimpse of the horrors that await. Moreover, it teases that Mr.

Eye-watering Difference in Lady Gaga and Adam Driver’s Careers After Their $153 Million Blockbuster is Simply Disappointing
Image
Lady Gaga’s Joker: Folie à Deux and Adam Driver’s Megalopolis are currently locked in a box office competition. Both films were released a week apart, but their theatrical performances couldn’t be more different from one another. It’s no secret that Joker 2, despite its appalling reviews, is riding on the success of a huge IP and its 2019 predecessor, Joker‘s success.

Image from Joker: Folie À Deux | Official Trailer – Warner Bros. Pictures (YouTube)

Tod Phillips’ magnum opus has already earned a whopping $121 million at the worldwide box office, on a $200 million budget, despite releasing a week after Megalopolis. On the other hand, Francis Ford Coppola’s ambitious sci-fi drama is stumbling at merely $8.5 million worldwide earnings on an enormous $120 million budget. This all has got us wondering how differently Gaga and Driver’s careers have gone since their $153 million blockbuster House of Gucci.

Heretic Review: A Test of Faith Verses Logic with a Great Hugh Grant
Image
Sometimes, the scariest thing isnt the possibility of a zombie outbreak, a werewolf, or a vampire its being confronted by the flaws in everything you believe, and realizing you may be a pawn in a game you never consented to play. Writer/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods take a big detour from their work on A Quiet Place and 65 with their latest film, Heretic, a far from prototypical horror movie. At least for the bulk of Heretics runtime, the narrative is a stage-like, elegant philosophical joust between three characters. Although the film might lean into conventional horror stylings in its third-act attempt to address the interesting questions it poses, the misstep is not enough to knock it off its relatively confident axis.

It's important to note that Beck and Woods are not necessarily using Heretic as a vehicle to say religion is bad. Instead, they utilize this story...

Hugh Grant Stars in Psychological Horror Film ‘Heretic’
Image
A24 has unveiled the gripping trailer for its upcoming psychological horror film, Heretic, directed and written by the talented duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East, the film promises a chilling exploration of faith and fear, set against the backdrop of a sinister game orchestrated by Grant’s character, Mr. Reed.

In Heretic, two young Mormon missionaries, portrayed by Thatcher and East, encounter a nightmare when they knock on the wrong door during their mission. They are greeted by Mr. Reed, played by Hugh Grant, who lures them into a terrifying game of psychological torment. The trailer showcases Reed’s menacing challenge: “I won’t keep you if you wish to leave, but I want you to choose which door to go through based on your faith,” he declares, pointing to two doorways labelled “Belief” and “Disbelief.” The scene escalates into a life-sized labyrinth,...

A Sinister Hugh Grant Wants You To Witness A Miracle In The Heretic Trailer
Image
Following his turn as an Oompa Loompa in 2023's "Wonka" and an absurdly awkward Oscars interview, you might not have expected Hugh Grant's next move to be an A24 horror movie. But that's exactly what the British star is doing next. "Heretic" was announced last year as the latest Scott Beck and Bryan Woods-penned horror effort. The duo responsible for writing "A Quiet Place" and the Adam Driver sci-fi thriller "65" have now written a horror movie that will see Grant in the titular role — though just what the movie is about has thus far remained unclear.

Until now, details about "Heretic" have been kept under wraps. However, when it was first announced, Deadline reported that the film was rumored to "center on two young women of faith who are lured into a cat-and-mouse game in the home of an eccentric man." Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter claimed the...

Hugh Grant Imprisons His Houseguests in Chilling ‘Heretic’ Trailer
Image
Hugh Grant has a unique strategy for discouraging unsolicited visitors in the first trailer for A24’s psychological horror feature Heretic.

The movie from writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods hits theaters Nov. 15. Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East co-star as two Christian missionaries who are invited into the house of Mr. Reed (Grant) after knocking on his door. But they soon realize that the sinister homeowner isn’t about to let them leave.

“I won’t keep you if you wish to leave,” Grant tells his pair of guests in the trailer, as he leads them to two closed doors. “But I want you to choose which door to go through, based on your faith.”

Later, Grant has a message of warning for the women. “It will make your hearts beat faster,” he teases. “It may even make you want to die.”

Beck and Woods, who broke out through their...

The Most Influential Dinosaur Movies of All Time
Image
Considered an art form by paleo-media enthusiasts, dinosaur movies have influenced pop culture in ways many people can't imagine. These films have helped humanity explore the prehistoric world and express their artistic visions of it. While some may have trouble viewing a film like One Million Years B.C. with the same reverence as Citizen Kane or The Godfather, there's no denying how much modern culture is shaped by the creatures of the past. Whether a pulpy paleontological piece that doesn't take itself too seriously or a masterpiece of animation, dinosaur movies, like the fossils that fill museums, allow us to understand how things evolve and shape the world humans live in today.

Since humanitys infancy, prehistoric fossils have inspired myths of dragons, cyclops, and countless other fantastical creatures. After dinosaurs were scientifically recognized in 1677, they began to fill modern mythology through the works of authors like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,...

All 15 Dinosaurs & Prehistoric Animals In Adam Driver’s 65 Movie
Image
The dinosaurs in 65 add excitement and danger, though some are more inspired than accurate. Captain Mills and Koa face peril from 15 different prehistoric predators on Earth. Recognizable dinosaurs like the T-Rex and Velociraptors make appearances in the thrilling 2023 sci-fi film.

The 65 movie dinosaurs adds to the excitement and danger of the 2023 sci-fi thriller, though it should be noted that several are more inspired by dinosaurs than based in reality. The movie begins with Captain Mills (Adam Driver) piloting a transport ship carrying colonists, but the multi-year mission is interrupted by space debris around a remote planet. The ship crash lands on the surface below and splits in two, with Mills and a young girl named Koa the only survivors on what turns out to be Earth 65 million years ago, with dinosaurs threatening their lives.

The pair decide to make the trek to the other half of the ship that contains...
