Again directed by Osgood Perkins, the trailer for upcoming Stephen King adaptation The Monkey just passed 109 million views!

Deadline explains, “The first trailer for Osgood Perkins‘ The Monkey is quite the success, with a current running viewership across all platforms including TikTok of 109 million.”

Neon has released the official Red Band trailer for The Monkey, which is an upcoming comedy horror film based on the 1980 short story of the same name by Stephen King.

The Monkey is a new trip from Longlegs writer and director Osgood Perkins. It was produced by James Wan.

After stumbling upon their father’s vintage toy monkey in the attic, twin brothers Hal and Bill witness a string of horrifying deaths unfolding around them. In an attempt to leave the haunting behind, the brothers opt to discard the monkey and pursue separate paths over time.

However, when the inexplicable deaths resurface, the brothers are compelled to reconcile and embark on a mission to permanently eliminate the cursed toy.

The Monkey has been rated R by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for strong bloody violent content, gore, language throughout and some sexual references.

Yeah, Osgood Perkins is letting his hair down with this one, going as brutally bonkers as an “R” rating will allow.
