With two new team members joining their ranks, they continue the work they started and use crime to get justice for their clients.Leverage: Redemption holds all the charm and quirk of the original series while still evolving for this new era. The trailer shows the crew — Gina Bellman as grifter Sophie Deveraux, Christian Kane as hitter Eliot Spencer, Beth Riesgraf as thief Parker, Aleyse Shannon as maker Breanna Casey, Noah Wyle as fixer Harry Wilson, and Aldis Hodge as hacker Alec Hardison — doing what they do best and offers a sneak peek at some of the cons of the season. Leverage and its revival series Leverage: Redemption remains one of the most underrated crime drama television series in the genre. The premise of the original Leverage series sees an unlikely group of vigilante thieves led by a burned-out insurance investigator, Nate Ford, who uses cons to defraud rich targets, normally corporations. Leverage: Redemption sees the team reunite after Nate's death and take up the con again with two new team members added to the original team.
Leverage: Redemption is a charming series. The humor is witty, and the show is unafraid to be quirky. The intelligence of the series can be found in the complex cons and fantastic story pacing. The viewers are as surprised as the target when the con concludes in an undeniably dramatic fashion. Season 3 of Leverage: Redemption debuts on Prime on April 17th. New and returning viewers of Leverage: Redemption should rewatch these key episodes before the third season premieres.

It’s been a wait for Leverage: Redemption season 3. The second season wrapped in early 2023, and a third season was ordered in December of that year. Like many shows, the series was put off by the 2023 Hollywood strikes and the schedules of its cast.
But it’s finally coming as TV Line has revealed that Leverage: Redemption season 3 will drop the first three of its 10 episodes on Thursday, April 17. New episodes premiere each Thursday after that.
The original Leverage ran on TNT from 2008 to 2012. The plotline was Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton), a former insurance investigator deciding to hit back against the rich and corrupt taking advantage of others. Timothy Hutton and Leverage: Redemption producer Electric Entertainment have settled a legal battle over his dismissal from the reboot after he was accused of sexual assault.
Lawyers for Hutton on Monday informed the court of the deal, which resolves claims from the actor and counterclaims from Electric. The agreement is conditioned on the completion of certain undisclosed terms within 45 days. Further details weren’t revealed.
Hutton alleged in a lawsuit filed in 2022 that his deal to star, executive produce and direct at least one episode of Leverage: Redemption included a provision that guaranteed him at least $3 million “regardless of whether Electric actually utilized his services in the production of the series.” He said the deal closed in February 2020, a month before reports surfaced that a woman had filed a complaint to the Vancouver police department alleging Hutton raped her in 1983 when she was 14.

Louisiana lawmakers saved the state’s tax credit as part of a sweeping set of fiscal reform bills that are headed the governor’s desk coming out of a special legislative session.
The increasingly popular credit had been abolished by the House along with a wide range of other incentives to make up lost revenue from Gov. Jeff Landry’s push to slash corporate tax and personal income tax in the state. But the film and television incentive was reinstated by a Senate committee earlier this week. The annual cap was lowered to $125 million from $150 million but local film industry players were still pretty thrilled that it emerged relatively intact.
The amount set aside for residual claims lowered to $125 million, down from $180 million. The bills passed the full Senate and worked through the House today without further cuts.

The following contains light spoilers for Cross Season 1, which premieres Thursday, Nov. 14 on Prime Video. It also contains discussion of violence.
Prime Video's Cross is the worthy successor to Amazon's epic adaptation of Bosch. It's another gritty, intense detective series based on a hit collection of books, with an absolutely perfect choice for the lead role. Aldis Hodge, beloved for Leverage and who was terribly underrated in City on a Hill, is unquestionably front and center in this series. And almost immediately, he makes Detective Alex Cross his own.

Instead, executive producer Ben Watkins (who created Hand of God for Amazon) goes his own direction; sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. Louisiana’s increasingly popular state tax credit for film and television production might be at risk as legislators at a special session are considering the repeal of a wide range of incentives.
The credit – with a base of 25% that can run as high as 40% — is capped at $150 million annually (with up to $30 million more for credits unclaimed the previous year).
It’s been attracting productions and Louisiana regularly comes up among the list of states filmmakers look at. Over the past decade, it has hosted over 700 motion pictures, TV series and documentaries from Interview with the Vampire and National Treasure to Nickel Boys, Leverage: Redemption, The Iron Claw and Where the Crawdads Sing.
The fight, as always, centers around whether the film tax incentive brings in more than it costs the state, which has reported a budget shortfall.
Proponents say it accounts for $360 million in spending. Adversaries cite a report...

The popular revival series Leverage: Redemption is returning for a third season, but big changes are coming on the horizon for the show's new episodes. Coming as a continuation of Leverage, which aired its final episode in 2012, Redemption follows Nate Ford's widow, Sophie Devereaux, as she reunites his original crew to continue their crusade against corporate greed and government malfeasance. Like its predecessor, Leverage: Redemption takes the procedural format and turns it on its ear with clever plots that serve up weekly doses of satisfying social justice.
The first two seasons of the continuation were met with rave reviews, and it's clear that the team behind Leverage hasn't missed a step, even after a decade. Dean Devlin returned to once again serve as executive producer, and series creators John Rogers and Chris Downey also returned. This gives the revival series a sense of continuity with its predecessor and has...

TNT's Leverage follows a group of criminals who have banded together to use their skills to help people. Together, they take down rich, powerful and corrupt targets who would otherwise be untouchable, bringing justice to the people they hurt. Featuring exciting heists and cons, the series has a surprisingly lighthearted tone that balances humor and serious themes.
Timothy Hutton portrays the group's mastermind and leader, Nathan Ford. Nate has issues with alcohol misuse, which began after his son was denied life-saving medical care by the very insurance company for which he worked, resulting in his son's death. When approached by a businessman claiming his proprietary airplane designs were stolen by a rival, Nate is tasked to gather a team of criminals to steal them back. With Nate in charge, they discover magic working together and get a taste of doing good and helping people.

NBC’s new medical procedural arrives with an unusual slant. Inspired by the life of late British neurologist and author Dr. Oliver Sacks, “Brilliant Minds” stars “Star Trek” and “American Horror Story’s” Zachary Quinto as a doctor determined to demystify neurological disorders. And he’s got first-hand experience: Quinto’s Dr. Oliver Wolf has prosopagnosia, also known as “face blindness” (just as Sacks did in real life.)
The hour-long series “follows a revolutionary, larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns as they explore the last great frontier – the human mind – while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.”
Alongside Quinto, “Brilliant Minds” also stars Tamberla Perry Ashleigh Lathrop (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Alex MacNicoll (“The Society”), Aury Krebs (“Leverage: Redemption”), Spence Moore II (“All American”), Teddy Sears (“The Flash”) and Donna Murphy (“Tangled”). “Homeland” and “Criminal Minds” star Mandy Patinkin is also on board in a recurring role.

The highly-anticipated series Cross is set to debut later this year on Prime Video, and will be the latest adaptation that looks to bring author James Pattersons beloved character of Alex Cross to life. Unlike the previous theatrical movies that took their cues from Pattersons novels, however, this new iteration of the famed detective/forensic psychologist will break from tradition to tell its own story, something that the author told Entertainment Weekly he prefers.
"Its something I say when anybody is developing one of my books or characters: I much prefer the story be brand new. I was hoping the show would be a breakthrough and not dependent on the book, and its happened."
Starring Aldis Hodge, Cross sees the titular hero and his partner, John Sampson (Isaiah Mustafa), team up to track a serial killer from Cross past who looks to tear apart his present. Having already appeared in a number of crime dramas,...

The Librarians, which started as a series of three TV movies starring Noah Wyle for TNT in 2004, is heading home, twenty years later.
Earlier this morning, it emerged that The Librarians: The Next Chapter, a spinoff to the series that ran for four seasons through 2018, would air on TNT, rather than The CW, which originally greenlit the show around May 2023.
Deadline can reveal that the show has also been handed a two-season order, which includes a first season of 12 episodes that has already been shot and is currently in post-production, as well as a second season. The first season will premiere in 2025.
The move was a surprise for a number of reasons, most notably that the Warner Bros. Discovery network was returning to original scripted series, after a few years out of the game.

Fans of Leverage: Redemption are hoping to hear more about Season 3. Here's an update on when the show will return!
Leverage was a great hit for TNT when it debuted in 2008. The plotline was Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton), a former insurance fraud investigator, bands with a pack of crooks: grifter Sophie (Gina Bellman), thief Parker (Beth Reisgraf), "hitter" Eliot (Christian Kane) and hacker Hardison (Aldis Hodge). The group pulls con games and thefts to bring down the rich and corrupt and give the proceeds to the victims of such crooks.
The show ran five seasons, ending in 2012. In 2021, Freevee revived it as Leverage: Redemption. The plotline was Nate had died and the rest of the team reunited with Noah Wyle as Harry, a former corporate lawyer who had seen the light to help them out. Hodge's movie career meant Hardison was mostly absent with Aleyse Shannon joining as new hacker Brenna.

“Catherine The Princess of Wales displayed such composure and grace today in her heartbreaking announcement,” Bellman said on social media. “Hoping her treatment is successful and also for a kinder world.” She later added: “I myself underwent treatment for Breast Cancer last summer. Until now- I didn’t have the courage to go public. 8 months on I’m back in stilettos and filming 14 hour days. For those undergoing treatment right now- there is light at the end of this tunnel.

Timothy Hutton's role in Leverage: Redemption was written out due to serious rape allegations against him. Leverage: Redemption continued successfully without Nate Ford, focusing on other key characters from the original series. Hutton is in a legal battle with the studio for $3 million and has had limited acting roles post-controversy, including a minor role in Women of the Movement.
Contains discussion of sexual assault allegations and subsequent legal proceedings.
Leverage returned in 2021 with the revival Leverage: Redemption, but Timothy Hutton's Nate Ford was missing. 2008's Leverage ran for five seasons and united a band of criminals under Nate’s leadership to con the wealthy and corrupt. Although the team first formed as a way for Nate to get revenge on his old company for his son’s death, Leverage quickly grew beyond his vendetta, positioning the revival to continue without him after recent allegations made Tim Hutton’s continued role impossible.

Amazon is pushing back on a report that suggested Freevee will shut down this spring.
On Thursday, AdWeek reported that Freevee – Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service – will be shutting down in the next few weeks, possibly by early April. According to the publication, with the addition of advertising to Amazon’s flagship Prime Video streaming service, Freevee has been rendered redundant.
But an Amazon spokesperson called the report inaccurate, saying in a statement to Gold Derby that “There are no changes to Freevee. Amazon Freevee remains an important streaming offering providing both Prime and non-Prime customers thousands of hit movies, shows, and Originals, all for free.” The spokesperson did not directly address the future of Freevee.
Freevee, which bore IMDb branding until 2022, is a Fast service that does not require signing up for Prime Video, Amazon’s subscription streaming service. Its content, which mostly consists of licensed shows and...
