The Canadian episode is really shows off how much effort Jim put into building a special that played to every region of a country. The historical and cultural references are spot on and make these episodes both highly entertaining and informative.

Jim's humor is offbeat and weird. He speaks to himself out loud in the third person and he sometimes laughs at his own humor. But in Canada he has great timing and the audience loves him. There is no repeating of one liners, no redundant jokes, but great humor regarding Canada and the Canadians seem to love it. He speaks about the provences and the difference between Canadians and Americans. I found him funny with great timing. He is a clean comedian, hardly a swear word and he always talks about being a Catholic. I'm not but I fond his Catholic humor pretty funny since I used to be Catholic myself. I figured I'd run into a lot of disgruntled fans because of Jim's twitter rampage. These are people who USED to find him funny until he made political statements. Then, they write bad reviews. I call BS on those. Love his humor, love the ideas he and his wife come up with and I love his delivery. Id like it even if he had different political views than I did.

The Canadian set was hilarious. I laughed nonstop. Virtually every joke was a hit. Then I put on the Spanish set. Wow.....*thud.* Not a single laugh. Ended up turning it off because I was falling asleep after 30 minutes. The audience didn't seem into it either. It was a shock why Gaffigan would put such a weak set out there. It was a total downer after the show in Canada. I've seen Jim Gaffigan live and I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. This is a just bizarre misstep and I don't understand why he did it.
As a a Canadian-American laughed my buttocks off. Wonderful Insight. Well done Jim!
Witty and well put together. I love the contrast between America and Canada. Top notch.

Cred for being a clean family comic, but all a bit rambling, childish and repetitive for me. I guess you either like his delivery style or not. Good for kids and families though.
Love jims stuff! wasn't expecting all regional jokes but still, not disappointed at all!

For me, these were great. Although you may have a hard time relating to the jokes if you haven't been to Spain or Canada.

I used to really enjoy Gaffigan's material, but he has been going back to the same well for far too long. Of course, his sycophants will lap this up, but I hated it. It's basically his old routine but for a slightly more international audience. I found most his jokes and pot-shots at culture disappointing and easy.

I've enjoyed all of Jim's previous stand up routines, been watching his stuff for a decade. But this one is just boring and cringeworthy (the hideous accents) at parts. Maybe laughed two times total between the episodes.
All he is doing is reciting facts about Canada and Spain respectively and trying to be relevant with the crowd but it just does not work at all. Feels like just a cash grab, he really should rethink his entire strategy and approach. The same schtick just isn't working any more he needs to reinvent his act.

There were many moments where even I, as an American, felt awkward for some of his jokes. Does Jim know that they don't speak Spanish in Catalogna? Even if you put culture aside...they just weren't funny.
I'm a fan, but these just seemed like tired jokes.

Amazon says "people who watched this also enjoyed watching paint dry".
Seriously, especially in the Spain one this guy isn't even trying, there's no script, no jokes, he's just mumbling and stretching to hit 50 minutes.

Same ol' tired material. Actually yawned while watching. Watch this OR 6 cylinder engine maintenance- same entertainment value.

This was strange. The Canadian set seemed to point out interesting, fun inconsistencies in Canadian culture in Gaffigan's usual good natured way. The Spanish set was... insulting is too strong a word. I guess it just felt like an unpolished early set. The laughter sounded like a laugh track - every response at the same medium intensity. Zero resonance. The Canadian set would have medium and high laughs as the audience related to the silliness. The Spanish audience sat there as he went through every Spanish dish he could think of and quietly scoffed at it in a Garrison Keillor whisper. So odd..
