Of course we all love Laurence Fishburne, his epic voice and calm informative demeanor lend alot to this show, he's a great host! He just needs to keep his face shaved lol. White scruffy whiskers do nothing for no body lol. The show covers all kinds of very interesting topics in a thorough and interesting way because they explain all kinds of scientific theories and opinions and how things could be based in reality and then sometimes beer into the more eccentric narratives with aliens or mysterious supernatural phenomena which I also appreciate. I just wish they would stop hiring some of these gay men to do interviews..i do not want to listen to that or look at their crazy ugly outfits. Stick to the real experts and jouralists.

Much better than all the other expedition/unearthed/unexpected/mystery/oakisland/history nonsense. Give it a try...
The show is very well produced , keeps you wanting more, and Lauren has the required voice and charisma
Congrats for a great work
It's one of the best because almost every other show regurgitates already known information. This show uses already known information as a base and then does *ORIGINAL* exploration or research that has never been seen before. I've loved every episode and hope it continues.
I just found this episode online and I'm working my way thru the first season. The episodes are just too long, boring and stretched out. Who came up with the 2 hour format? This series would be a 7-8 star at an hour. But 2 hours an episode? The stories are stretched out to the point of becoming boring. To me, a fair rating is in the 4-5 star range, depending on episodes. I feel like I'm being generous going with the higher number.

I can't believe all the negative reviews. I wonder if they have the attention span or desire for knowledge to absorb the information. I find this show captivating. A summary of past findings, followed by new info and possible breakthroughs. Excellent television in my opinion. And Laurence Fishburne is the perfect narrator.

Of course. Take my time to not find any.
At least the Curse of Oak Island is not scripted. It sucks.

I've seen a couple of episodes and it's really good. They talk about topics that most people have either never heard of or topics that you've heard of but with other information or theories about the topic. Keep up the good work I hope they make more episodes about neat topics. The episode they did on the lost colony of Roanoke was neat. I grew up in Virginia so I learned about the lost colony of Roanoke in school so it was a good refresher but I did learn a little more information. Can't wait for more great episodes keep it up. I love seeing really good documentaries on the history channel!!!

Johnstown has had four major floods. But why did the one on Memorial day 1889 claim about three thousand live. I have to start out saying that I lost five members of my family in this one, and non in the other three! Why? Because Andrew Canegee and his chums built the domn upriver from Johnstown 30 feet higher then the original lake while spending ZERO DOLLARS on cleaning out the spillway! Why is that important? If you clean the spillways out the water level in the lake will ease down to a reasonable level. But if not it grows as high as the dam is built too. Thus when his Hunting & Fishing club's lake broke that day the water level starting down the river was 95 foot high, as it passed thru the town where Charles Browson was born, and when it reached Johnstown is was still 45 foot high. Only two buildings, both made out of stone and mortal survived but all the rest of the buildings were crushed and driven down to the stone bridge where the gas lines ruptured thus killing more people fron burning to death that those which drowned. But Carnegee bought off procecution by funding an Art Gallery and a college in Pittsburgh! But I think everyone should know this story to prevent people from getting away with MURDER! Wm Freeburn.

I would like to see more more shows, hosted by Mr. Fishburne, on things that we don't talk about. Let him explore what information can and cannot be disclosed. It'll be informative. We are all curios of how, as a people, are so divided. I believe when we're, finally, able to understand our past, current abilities to rationalize and, to somehow see ourselves as people who can reunite as a country. There's no reason that we can let someone assume the role as the most powerful man in the world while hiring a staff of misfits. Our past has the lead us to haunt us from slavery to the Gettysburg to the Twin Towers. It's time to wake America!

Usually, I don't leave a review if I don't like a show. And this show isn't so bad that it made me leave a negative review... It just seems like it didn't really try very hard.
I watched the first 4 episodes. I usually love shows like this and have watched many of them. But, as others have said, this show offers nothing new. And, more importantly, it finds a way to make the rehashed subjects less interesting.

Growing up in SW Washington @ the time DB Cooper jumped, I had great interest in the first episode. 2 hrs later... They MAY have DNA... No REAL "new" discoveries.
Okay, interested in the Titanic... Same thing watch the Leo / Kate version, it gives most of the same info... other then some enlightenment on POSSIBLE rescue information that MAY have made a difference in the number of survivors.
Shipwreck in Antarctica... Well...That was another 2 hrs of watching a multi-million dollar bust...
If next week's on Booth doesn't bring to light any REAL new information... I'm done.

So the theme for these types of shows is to reveal nothing, update nothing, and use millions of pounds worth of equipment with no end result. All this show does is make so called experts look ridiculous.During lockdown ive watched various shows and ill list them before saying what they have in common.
1 -History's Greatest Mysteries-worst of all??
2 -lost gold of ww2
3 - Curse of oak island
4 - Curse civil war gold
5 - Lost Gold of ww2
All these shows spends millions and have "experts" that find nothing ,change nothing incluing history.
There are some show id say worth watching below:
America Unearthed -Scott F. Wolter. On a different level .Hunting Hitler Mission Declassified ALCATRAZ: SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH

The episodes cover pretty much the amount of information that could've been presented in less than half the time, and most of it is jargon and repetition anyway.
The cherry on top is that in none of the episodes is anything really discovered or uncovered, excluding minor tidbits of information that you may have not known before, but which you can definitely live without knowing.
The only episode worth watching would be the one about Shackleton's lost ship, and that is only because of Sir Shackleton and his crew - their story is amazing. But if you're already familiar with their story - just skip the whole series.

There's no single episode or segment that gives you anything other than a sinking feeling of guilt and embarrassment that you wasted hours on this trash that never goes anywhere other than the deleted bin.
This show has the worst editing team ever! The most drawn out waste of time I have given or wasted on history channel... They drag things out to the tenth degree, which turns out to be what you already knew. I don't see the show lasting beyond a second season.

"It's been suggested...some people believe...it could have been that..."
Don't expect to learn much with this series. There's no new evidence provided. Mostly just a rehash of already known information and speculation by authors and 'experts'.
The topics can be interesting if you aren't familiar with them, but overall the show itself is a dud.
