“Days of our Lives” star Jackée Harry (Paulina Price-Carver) will appear as a guest star on the Netflix comedy “A Man on the Inside,” starring Ted Danson (“Cheers”), when it returns for Season 2 later this year on the streaming service.

The second season of Tony Gilroy’s Andor received a huge welcome among Star Wars fans. It was one of the rare mature shows from the franchise, which managed to impress both fans and critics with its two seasons. After Season 2, Andor becomes the first project from the Star Wars universe not to feature the lightsaber or any of the Jedi vs Dark Force magical fights.

The lack of lightsabers marks a major difference between the Diego Luna-led series and the other films/TV shows. Andor tells the story of normal citizens who fight for their rights, without relying much on the supernatural elements that define Star Wars. Netflix has added a slew of new cast members (and potential suspects) to the star-studded line-up of A Man on the InsideSeason 2, which is set to premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2025. The comedy ensemble has grown substantially, with nearly a dozen actors joining Ted Danson, who reprises his role as retiree-turned-private-investigator Charles Nieuwendyk. Ted Danson and season two newbie (and Danson’s spouse) Mary Steenbergen will have plenty of company on the upcoming season of Netflix’s A Man on the Inside. The streamer just announced the final key players are in place and provided teasing tidbits on who they’ll be playing.

Season one was set in a retirement home, and season two will take the action to a college campus where Charles will be hanging out undercover. Steenbergen is on board as Mona Margadoff, “a former musician who factors heavily in the case Charles is trying to solve.”

“A Man on the Inside” Season 2 is rounding out its main cast with nearly a dozen new additions.

Variety has learned that the following actors have joined the sophomore season of the comedy series: Constance Marie, David Strathairn, Gary Cole, Jason Mantzoukas, Jill Talley, Linda Park, Lisa Gilroy, Madison Hu, Max Greenfield, Michaela Conlin, and Sam Huntington.

Full character descriptions for the new cast members can be found below. They join fellow Season 2 star Mary Steenburgen as well as returning cast members Ted Danson and Lilah Richcreek Estrada.

A little over a year ago, it was reported that Noah Baumbach has been tapped to helm his fourth project with Netflix after Marriage Story, White Noise and The Meyerowitz Stories. Plot details are still kept under wraps and it was only this past January that Netflix revealed the title of the film will be Jay Kelly. Baumbach directs the film from a screenplay written by him and the movie’s co-star, Emily Mortimer. Baumbach reunites with his Meyerowitz Stories star Adam Sandler and pairs him up with George Clooney. After watching Andor, I’m fully convinced, Tony Gilroy is the only one who should bring Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne back for one last ride. Gilroy’s grip on morally grey heroes, espionage, and gritty tension is unmatched. And, he already helped shape the Bourne franchise’s best moments.

With Andor, he proved he can blend politics, rebellion, and raw emotion without losing an ounce of intensity. Bourne’s always been a patriot at heart, tangled in a system that betrayed him. And if anyone can give that legacy the sendoff it deserves, it’s Gilroy – no amnesia about it.

Director Joseph Kosinski (“Top Gun: Maverick”) has “F1” reeving up this summer with Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and Damson Idris, but is also gearing up to take on a new iteration of “Miami Vice” for Universal Pictures.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Kosinski is teaming with “Nightcrawler” and “The Bourne Legacy” screenwriter Dan Gilroy for the new pic, which Kosinski is expected to direct when he’s finished with his untitled UFO pic at Apple Original Films.

“Top Gun: Maverick” filmmaker Joseph Kosinski is set to direct a “Miami Vice” remake for Universal Pictures.

Dan Gilroy is adapting the screenplay. Though plot details haven’t been revealed, the movie is based the 1980s TV series, starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover detectives in South Florida. The neon-hued show ran on NBC for five seasons from 1984-1989. A film version was first attempted in 2006, with Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell leading the cast and Michael Mann (who produced the original series) behind the camera. Though it became a cult favorite over time, the “Miami Vice” movie flopped in its theatrical run, grossing $165 million against a reported $135 million budget.

Joseph Kosinski is headed to Miami. The filmmaker behind the $1.49 billion hit Top Gun: Maverick is attached to direct a Miami Vice movie for Universal, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Nightcrawler filmmaker Dan Gilroy is penning the script, from an earlier draft by Top Gun: Maverick scribe Eric Warren Singer, who had to move on to commitments on Amazon MGM Studios’ Best of Enemies, starring Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper. The Batman producer Dylan Clark is producing through Dylan Clark Productions and Kosinski producing through Monolith.

Miami Vice began life as the Anthony Yerkovich-created TV series starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as two undercover Miami police officers known for their love of pastel suits. (“The ambition of the show was to break the form of everything that had come before,” executive producer Michael Mann told THR last year of the series, which ran from 1984-90 on NBC.

We’ve confirmed that the Jason Bourne franchise is on the block, and leaving its original home of Universal.

WME is repping the estate of late author Robert Ludlum and overseeing the sale with Skydance, Apple and Netflix kicking the tires. Producer Captivate Entertainment manages the pic’s rights for the Ludlum estate. Ludlum published The Bourne Identity in 1980.

Through five movies, the Jason Bourne cinematic spy series has racked up $1.64 billion at the global box office. Matt Damon originated the role of the spy who suffers from psychogenic amnesia and is forced to unlock his connection to the CIA.

Damon starred in 2002’s The Bourne Identity ($214M global box office), 2004’s The Bourne Supremacy ($292.5M), and 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum ($442.8M — the highest installment in the franchise). Damon stepped away for the title role and Jeremy Renner stepped in for 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, but the global gross eased to $276.1M.

THR reports that Jason Bourne is looking for a new home. The action franchise has been at Universal Pictures for over two decades, but the rights to Jason Bourne have reverted back to the Robert Ludlum estate.

WME is shopping the rights to other studios and streamers on behalf of Ludlum’s estate, with the goal being to “find a new home for the franchise and make the superspy a more regular presence onscreen.” Skydance, Apple, and Netflix have reportedly met with the estate, and even Universal could win back the rights if they’re willing to shell out the cash. It’s not certain if Matt Damon will continue to be involved, but you would imagine that whichever studio secures the rights would want to make a fresh start.

The goal is to find a new home for the franchise and make the superspy a more regular presence onscreen. Bourne last appeared nearly a decade ago in Jason Bourne (2016), from Universal and producer Captivate Entertainment, which manages the film rights for the Ludlum estate. It is too early to say if longtime star Matt Damon would be involved in the new iteration.

Skydance, Apple and Netflix are said to have met with the estate for the rights. Universal, too, could potentially win the rights back if it made an attractive bid.

The spy action drama acted as an antithesis to the genre defined by James Bond and Damon successfully turned into an action star. While he skipped The Bourne Legacy, he starred in all four other films in the franchise.

However, there would not have been a franchise if Damon and The Bourne Identity director Doug Liman decided to stick to an idea they came up with during the initial phase of production. While the films were based on Robert Ludlum’s novels, Liman reportedly decided to surprise the fans by killing off Jason Bourne in the first film.

Regardless of its slight regression over the last two films, the Bourne series is very entertaining and embodies all the thrills of the Ludlum novels they're based on. That original trilogy from the mind of Tony Gilroy, brought to life by Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass and performed to perfection by Matt Damon, is a classic of action cinema. Jeremy Renner shares a new post on social media commemorating two years since the snowplow accident that nearly took his life.
