Mumbai, May 6 (Ians) Abhishek Bachchan has joined the cast of the fifth instalment of the ‘Housefull’ franchise, starring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.

The actor, who featured in the third part of the film, says coming back feels like returning home.

Abhishek shared: “Housefull is one of my favourite comedy franchises, and coming back feels like returning home. It’s always been a great pleasure to work with Sajid Nadiadwala. I am looking forward to having mad fun on the sets with my fellow actors, Akshay and Riteish.”

“I’m also so excited to collaborate again with my dear friend Tarun Mansukhani. I’m really looking forward to working with him again after ‘Dostana’. This is going to be a lot of fun,” he said.

The producers of the 2021 CMT Music Awards were clearly paying attention. After a year-plus national conversation about equity, diversity, and, yes, racism, Wednesday night’s CMT Awards made a clear attempt to be inclusive, devoting airtime to artists and personalities of color.

Instead of putting all of their effort into one token set piece or presentation, the show highlighted a diverse group of black voices throughout the broadcast. There was the superb black vocal group the Shindellas opening the awards with Lady A. There was Blanco Brown playing the spoons into a commercial break.

Over the years, Hindi film industry has seen several films and show that have focussed on same-sex love, such as "My Brother... Nikhil", "Dostana", "Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan", "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga", "Made In Heaven" and "Four More Shots Please!". In "The Married Woman", Ridhi and Monica Dogra play a lesbian couple.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta feels we need more films to be made on the LGBTQ community. "There has been an absolute change in our society as well as our cinema regarding LGBTQ people. But I really think that we need to make more films about them, and need to normalize the subject as much as possible," Mehta told Ians.
