The story was written by Salman khan 20 years ago and described as his ambitious project at that time he planned to cast the Sanjay Dutt as the lead role and direct the film himself.
When Salman Khan wrote the film in the late 80's, he wanted Sanjay Dutt in his role, Amitabh Bachchan in Mithun's role, Kumar Gaurav in Sohail Khan's role.
Zareen Khan was touted as Katrina's lookalike, even her voice was dubbed by same dubbing artist who dubbed for Katrina in her initial days.
Plot of this movie is copy of Taras Bulba(1962).
Dil E Nadan song "Mako" was a cover version of "Surili Ankiyon Wali".
