Tinu Pappachan's latest that released on Christmas last year was a success at the BO given the ever so popular track "Olluleru" becoming all the rage in the months prior to the release. But does one song make the film watchable? I don't think so!
Ajagajantharam is set in Aranjali, where the annual temple festival is being organised. As a part of the festival, some major attraction include an elephant and a drama troop. But a altercation between the mahouts and the locals leads to an all out no holds barred fight among the two parties.
Well, that sounded like a WWE event (no holds barred). But it is almost like one. For most part of the movie, we are served pulsating action sequences between the two mahouts played by Kichu Telles and Antony Varghese and the brazen locals; some of the familiar faces here include Arjun Ashokan (always the one with the temper), Sudhi Koppa, Vineeth Vishwam and Lukman Avaran (who hardly gets any screentime due to all the ruckus). Jaffar Idukki, Sabumon Abdusamad, Tito wilson, Vijilesh Karayadvt (in his most decent role yet) co-star. Anil Nedumangad stars in his last screen appearance and Nadackal Unnikrishnan plays the 🐘 in the movie.
Ajagajantharam's talented ensemble cast waste their talent performing stunts. There was no need to cast such talented actors in this film. It is fun to watch with the characters all riled up and ready to charge but the banter that is a given between these guys is missing. I loved the way the movie has been made and the picturisation that captures all the elements of a bustling temple festival but in the end you are left disappointed by the sheer lack of ingenuity.

Ajagajantharam is overated for me. Lack of script is the main draw back of this movie. Stunts and music department is par excellence. Otherwise it was a average flick for me.

There's no story or plot. It's just a chain reaction that creates a mayhem. But my god I LOVEEDDDD it. It was so entertaining to watch. I never felt bored at all. There were fights where I felt getting goosebumps.
I am not an action movie lover but this one is an exception.
I didn't even know that I was half way through the movie. It got me hooked from the first fight itself.
Watch it without expecting anything.

The movie I was eagerly waiting to see right from the date of announcement just because of one name and that is Tinu Pappachan.
In one word this 2 hour movie will give the effect of seeing a local temple festival and a local gang fight happening there, and there is nothing more or less in this movie, no big story and just like every local fights happening during a temple festival there is no big reason for the fight to start.
Ambi (Kichu Tellus) and Laali (Antony Varghese) is coming for a temple festival with their Elephant Neysseri Parthan (Nadakkal Unnikrishnan) and during the festival they are having a clash with local gang of Kannan (Arjun Ashokan) this is the outline of the movie.
Totally this is not a great movie, but this is really a good entertainer.
Positives
+Direction (Great effort of creating a perfect festival mood) +Music & BG Score (The backbone of the movie) +DOP (Even though it was good there was some confusion during fight scenes) +Fights (Heard the fight scenes alone took 45 days of filming) +Comedies +All actors (Everyone did well especially those who had fight scenes) +The elephant <3 (Another backbone) +Editing (Fight scenes were perfectly edited)
Negatives
-Dont look for logic -Lagging in second half -Anil Nedumangad's character wasn't having finishing -Climax was felt as a sudden end.
Verdict: Must watch in a house full theatre with friends. Not recommended for family or art film lovers.
Rating: 7.5/10.

Great action and great camera work u will definitely like ajagajantharam if your a fan of action movies very entertaining very good performance by Antony varges and Arjun Ashokan it shows but does lack bit of script but shows how fights start in fastivals in Kerala which is mostly for no reason great entertainer and people to like action movies will enjoy ajagajantharam.
The story of the film is simple and there is nothing much about it. The thing is in what's happening on screen. I've never seen a film like this in recent time. Its pure fun. It has some of the greatest action sequences that I've seen in Malayalam film industry. The camera work, editing, direction, and acting were top-notch.
It's an overall fun film which gave me an adrenaline rush.

I was late to watch this movie..just watched because of its different title and the immense poster of the film..
I was ok in watching this but after the movie it wasn't a memorable one in mind and the characters were also not impressed and didn't make a mark in our mind.
The story line was very keen as it was a riot and revenge present on the local group present in the village.
It was deep and the only the screen was fitted with vengeance and fight.. really saying it's full of violence in a group of youth who had only revenge in their thoughts..full of Mayhem.
Mey be this is a blockbuster in theatre but not in my mind and may b in some others too.
Only thing that can make the story better is some reasonable story for revenge should have worked better.

Time waste.. Full fight for nothing to express. Camera angles are perfect. Second half much better than one. Need more vibe or originality.need a storyline too. Fighting is sometimes bored.

Pure adrenaline rush. Cinematography, background score are top notch. Ullulleri song was a tremendous theater experience. That song consists of 3or4 different locations but we won't feel that with butter smooth transitions. Cinematography was like. Bruh. Wt the hell best in class kudos to jinto George. Here is the intresting part, action! Malayalam would be more appropriate for it, adi adi adi ath kazhinja entha pinnem adi adi adi. Such a brilliant movie. Don't miss out on theaters. Otherwise you will regret! There is nothing much about negative points. Easily negligible. You won't regret even if you watched it 10times in theatres. Every penny worth!

2hr movies, skipped 1hr of fight scene and that too pathetic fight scene- not the one ypu find interesting to watch.
Actors were inexperienced and acting was low quality. Not recommended for family or kids.
Only recommended for college party members student who wants to fight every day for nonsense reasons.

I watched this movie on Christmas Eve, 2021.
The theatre was packed. After a point in the movie, when the fight portion started , the people in the theatre went crazy. I Had so much fun experiencing it in theatres. This is one movie that people liked for the "making" of it rather than the characters or screenplay. You feel like you experienced a temple festival in real. It's like a rollercoaster ride for two hours. Pure fun.
The most important thing you need to know about Agagajanthram is that it won't work for you if you are watching this on ott or a mobile screen. This film is not designed like that. It's a rare product that's only to be enjoyed in the ambience of theatres with crowd, good sound and and lot of claps.

I like action movies and i watch action even if theres no plot..but when it comes to this movie, it had a great potential wasted..the making of this movie is top notch ,like theres less over the top fight scenes like that of mohanlal movies...Malayalam movie industry is developing and these are the signs of it..the camera shots were awesome ,when it comes to fight choreography its is great at some point but boring at other point, its the same for bgms either..these two characters can fight a lot of guys ,they can throw them away even though they have sickles and swords..when the protagonist needs to fight the swords and knives disappear from the goons hands...some flaws could've been avoided but did a good job...i expected more..still it is an average experience..1st 1hr is boring and too long...

This was very much in the vein of Jallikattu om terms of the style of storytelling.
Not much of a plot and it wasn't as interesting as some of the other movies in this genre.
The characters were okay but I found my interest waning in between.
Overall, a slightly above average movie.

Don't go into this movie expecting a typical Malayalam fare..this is more of a visceral experiential movies with balls to the wall craziness which is typically not seen in Indian movies. Watch this for the experience! This is more like a guy Ritchie movie and fans of such movies would love the slowly ratcheting tension and the sheer violence. Special mention needs to made of the cinematography and music which provides us with a crazy auditory and visual experience .. watch out for the mission impossible Chendhare soundtrack !!
No story. No flow. Just a bunch of people fighting each other and cursing at eachother for no particular reason. Just because the cinematography is good or the soundtrack is good won't make a film enjoyable.

Firstly story part is not the one to be looked at. Fairly simple premise but all credits goes to the making. You can just feel the pure chaos hit you. Not the most polished movie but it has more good things than bad things. Well done cinematography, action scenes are good , sound department is top notch and performances are on point . Wont be a total disappointment if you watch.

This is the first time, i am watching like this movie which doesnt have any good thing in it. As a movie, it needs some story otherwise any good moments, but nothing is there. Simply quarrelling people without any character development. I am very disappointed about the crew who are taking such a shameful movie like this without anything good to offer.
Bottomline - Simply a complete waste of valuable 2 hours!!!

Yes if you are looking for a story, comedy, a plot just avoid.
This movie doesn't lag and never bored, awesome cinematography but there is a lot of scope for development.

The raw finesse that Tinu Pappachan attributes to every set-piece in Ajagajantharam isn't seen in its character-building. This is a film where every character publicly harbors a penchant for hard-hitting violence, resulting in all hell breaking loose every now and then. Leading the pack is Antony Varghese's Lali, who loves leaving a mess wherever he goes, be it a wedding or a temple festival. But that's all we know about him, besides the fact that he is the lessee of an elephant. The other characters are simply there to pick a fight with him for no reason whatsoever. The musical score by Justin Varghese and the visuals by Jinto George do set the stage for intermittent rushes of adrenaline, and whenever there's a set-piece in progress, the film makes you sit up. The action overpowers the plot and the characters, melding brilliantly with the festival aesthetics. It, sure as hell, is engaging but we never feel fully invested in the success of Lali's escape plan.
