The mid-2000s saw a boom in vampire media as the bloodsucking monsters dominated pop culture with Twilight, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries. The creatures of the night have started to see a resurgence in the past couple of years. Nosferatu and Sinners have dominated pop culture discussion, and as vampires are hot once more, writer Diablo Cody might have found the next big vampire IP.

Variety reports that the popular book Fang Fiction by author Kate Stayman-London is getting a television series adaptation. Diablo Cody has signed on as executive producer for Madison Wells. Author Stayman-London is adapting her book, and Cody is working closely on the script. Madison Wells will be taking the project to buyers soon.

Naruto is jam-packed with flashy jutsu, from the monstrous Susanoo to the dreadful Infinite Tsukoyomi. In Naruto, jutsu are magical techniques derived from a ninja's innate reservoir of chakra and many of the characters has their own unique skillset, in addition to those that they learn from their mentors. Genjutsu to bewitch enemies, dojutsu from special eyes, martial arts-powered taijutsu, and garden-variety ninjutsu all combine to make ninjas deadly assassins and feared warriors.

Jutsu techniques have many origins. For instance, Water Release techniques are common in the Mist Village, the Uchiha family is known for fire techniques, and some jutsu, like Naruto's Rasengan are passed down by masters. Not every technique lives up to the hype, though, and the origin of the lackluster jutsu doesn't change it's disappointing presence. From chakra limitations to less obvious drawbacks, some jutsu in Naruto are just plain overrated, overused and over-hyped.

The 97th Academy Awards is set to take place on March 2, 2025 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

An international feature film is defined as a feature-length motion picture (over 40 minutes) produced outside the US with a predominantly (more than 50%) non-English dialogue track and can include animated and documentary features.

Submitted films must have been released theatrically in their respective countries between November 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024. The deadline for submissions to the Academy is October 2, 2024.

Solo Leveling is one of the most popular manhwa to come out in the last decade, featuring a gripping story, an interesting universe, and some of the best fights in Korean serialization. Season 6 of Cobra Kai is bittersweet as this is Cobra Kai's last season. The first five episodes focus on Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence uniting at last. Johnny's Eagle Fang dojo has a different style, but Daniel lets him use his name to head up the group.

All that matters to Daniel is the essence of Miyagi-Do remains: peace, tranquility and compassion for the enemy. Unfortunately, tensions increase again. Daniel and Johnny's philosophies are immiscible in Part 1, while rivalries and rifts form once more among the teenagers. It leads to an emotional finale that promises drama when Part 2 airs.

Fang the Hunter #1 takes a unique approach by heavily featuring levels from classic Sonic the Hedgehog games, which is a refreshing change for Idw's main continuity. The issue explores Sonic & Knuckles' Mushroom Hill Zone in depth, and hints at a future installment set in Marble Zone, promising more gaming nostalgia. This creative choice to reference classic games makes Fang the Hunter an enjoyable read, especially for fans familiar with Sonic's gaming universe.

Although heavily connected to the franchise's gaming universe, Idw's main continuity doesn't usually feature key places from the games, except for special issues, like its very Infinity War-esque 30th anniversary one-shot.

Wolverine's son Akihiro, aka Daken, was given the codename 'Fang' as an honorary title by the Shi'ar Imperium, but it breaks the tradition of 'mutant names' representing their abilities. Akihiro's mutations don't affect his teeth, unlike other fanged mutants in the X-Men universe, and another hero is already named 'Fang.' While 'Fang' has a cool history and connection to a previous hero, it deviates from the effort of mutantkind to have cohesive and culturally distinct names, and Marvel should reconsider the choice.

Wolverine's son finally got what he deserved last year, with a new codename that wasn't a direct insult. While fans have known Akihiro as 'Daken' since his introduction in 2007, that name was always an insult, branding him a 'mongrel.' However, while 'Fang' is a definite step-up for the hero, it breaks a major rule of what 'mutant names' are supposed to represent.

Cobra Kai season 6 will mean the series' final battle, but The Karate Kid may have already revealed who would win. The spinoff series started following the same formula as the classic 1980s martial arts film but with a significant twist. Instead of Mr. Miyagi sagely training Daniel Larusso like, in The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai saw bad boy Johnny Lawrence teaching a brand new underdog how to stand up to bullies—entirely in his own style, of course. Now, several seasons and a lot of butt-kicking later, the series is coming to an end, and Larusso's story could provide some insight into how everything will shake out.
