The movie within the movie is based on a novel by Daniel Mantovani, the main character in Citoyen d'honneur (2016), played by Oscar Martínez. Mantovani even tells the story at the beginning of the movie.
Partially filmed in the "Teatro auditorio" of San Lorenzo de el Escorial.
When Lola discusses with Felix, at 57:00, she replies him with the famous 1995 quote from Diego Maradona, "Segurola y Habana 4310, séptimo piso".
