First Photo Of Former WWE Champion Cm Punk In-Cage Hits The Net
Instagram @duchessofroufus

The first ever photo of Cm Punk in action at his new home has surfaced, thanks once again to Roufusport founder Duke Roufus, who posted the photo to Instagram earlier today. And although it’s but a single photo of the former WWE champion, combined with a few comments from Roufus, it actually gives fans quite a bit of info.

For starters, there’s a good chance that, after some speculation about middleweight, welterweight could be Punk’s home. His first sparring partner, seen in the shot, is welterweight Craig Eckelberg. Note the size difference between the two: there’s not that much of one. At middleweight, and likely not carrying all the muscle mass from his wrestling days, Punk could find himself overpowered. Welterweight would seem to be a much safer option.

Beyond the weight class iss, the caption also referenced this session as a fight scrimmage.

Cm Punk Has Managed To Change Ben Askren’s Mind On Mma Jump
instagram

You can consider Ben Askren one of the converted. The One Fc welterweight champion, and former Bellator welterweight champion, with an undefeated record in professional Mma, was one of the most vocal critics of the Ufc’s signing of Cm Punk when the news was announced in December.

When Punk chose to train at Rousfusport, where both Askren and Ufc lightweight champion Anthony Pettis make their home, many were unsure of how the two would get along. Punk admitted that he would need to talk to Ben.

Well, it turns out, now that they’re training together, Askren has come around on the Punk signing.

Speaking to Mma Junkie, Askren had the following to say about his new team mate;

When someone decides to come into the Ufc and they don’t have a combat sports background, you’re kind of thinking, does he really understand what he’s getting into?...

Chael Sonnen And Wanderlei Silva To Have WWE Talks?
Jeff Chiu/AP/Press Association Images

There’s no doubt about it, Chael Sonnen is one of the biggest hype men in Mma history. If the American Hero’s latest comments are to be believed, he could very well have a future in the WWE.

Speaking to Off The Record’s Michael Landsberg, Sonnen revealed how he and Wanderlei Silva have both been invited to this year’s WWE Hall of Fame event.

Sonnen said, “I got a call from WWE. They say, ‘Look, we have a Hall of Fame show in March. If you want to come out, we want to talk to you about some stuff.’ They laid out at that.”

He then continued, “If they are buying me a plane ticket and they’re given me a ticket to the show, I do enjoy that product. I don’t know what we are talking about, but I...

Cm Punk’s New Coach Says He Will Be Entertaining In Ufc
WWE.com

Having had a month to train with the former WWE champion, Cm Punk’s new coach, Duke Roufus, of Roufusport, has nothing but complimentary things to say about the fighter and his ability to absorb knowledge thus far.

Echoing the statements of Punk’s sometimes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coach Rener Gracie, Rousfus has painted the former pro wrestler as a fast learner with an incredible knack for picking up new techniques.

Speaking to MMAJunkie Radio this week, Roufus, a renowned striking coach, said that;

…we’ve had about a month together. We’re having a good time. The guy is working hard. He’s got a great attitude and he is a sponge.

He’s going to be an entertaining fighter in the Ufc, and that’s why we watch.

Roufus, however, wouldn’t comment on a possible first opponent or timetable for Punk’s Ufc debut.

While you...

Dolph Ziggler Takes A Personal Shot At Cm Punk During Smackdown
wwe

Dolph Ziggler returned to WWE’s Smackdown on Thursday night and criticised Cm Punk’s attitude to the pro wrestling business.

Ziggler was doing a promo talking about The Authority, and said “I’d rather sit here in this ring and face any punishment they give me every day for the rest of my life than sit at home on some couch, complaining on a podcast.”

This was an obvious reference to Cm Punk, who quit the company due to real life hostility with management and later did a podcast about his woes. Ziggler has been involved in a WWE storyline in which he has problems with management, but it should also be noted that he’s had his share of real battles with the top brass and never walked away.

Dolph’s Punk comment was likely scripted by the WWE. It was possibly someone in management looking to...

12 Reasons Cm Punk Is The Most Hated Man In WWE Right Now
Copyright: WWE Royal Rumble 2014 Blu-ray

Philip Jack Brooks, known to fans and friends as Cm Punk, has been one of the most divisive figures in professional wrestling for quite a long time now. Never afraid to speak his mind, or backward about coming forward, he’s rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way for a variety of reasons.

But the most polarising thing he’s ever done – more so than turning on Ring Of Honor fans in the first Summer Of Punk, more even than his notorious worked-shoot promo in June 2011 which led to the second Summer Of Punk in WWE – was abruptly leave Monday Night Raw on 27th January 2014. And he didn’t come back.

Punk’s played with this kind of thing before, so a little ‘boy who cried wolf’ reaction on the part of wrestling fans the world over was understandable. It was a work,...

WWE Superstar Cm Punk -- Gunshot Victim Deserves Backstage Passes!

WWE Divas Match At WrestleMania 28 To Happen, Eve Torres Getting Push
The latest reports regarding the WWE Divas match at WWE WrestleMania 28 is that company officials are now leaning on the side of having the match take place on the pay-per-view card. Previous reports indicated that the Divas match would be bumped to a dark match but that appears no longer to be the case.

What is less clear however is what match it will actually be. Early plans were for a Beth Phoenix vs Natalya match for the title that could have been built up as a healthy feud over a couple of months but as that clearly hasn’t happened, it would be stupid to rush that on the pay-per-view card now. Another idea that emerged around WWE Royal Rumble time was a Beth Phoenix vs Kharma match for the WWE Divas Title with the idea that Beth had beaten every other superstar on her path to glory but...
