Nice plot, Action & Acting is fair

In overall, not a bad movie as well as not a good either. Its a fair one. (+) The story has a good morale from some conversation involving Pak Khalid and Dani Ruso Plot seems nice with Some nice view Yayan Ruhian, Surya Saputra and Maizura are good!! (-) Main character's name Dani Ruso? Same as Ralph Macchio's Karate Kid hahaha Since Dani seems was very weak, all of sudden in one month (might be less), he became very good at fight and so powerful. Tutu and Gogos tried to be funny, but frankly, they cannot as funny as I expected.

It's quite enjoyable to watch!

This movie let me learn about other country cultures and traditions and open my eyes to things I didn't know, but there's a slight flaw in this movie is that they copy a part of Karate Kid. Some comedy part I didn't quite get it I think it's because of subtitle but overall it's a nice movie to watch and learn.

Dont waste your time

The plot is broken. Non logical and insult to common sense. No way you can master martial art in 1 month The act also not good except for Yayan Rather than labeled as action movie should labeled as religious movie like Azab and co Dont waste your time

Great fight? But not the lead actor

Try hard to make the lead actor look rich and the lead actor should act more natural. But the fight is intense especially kanang's uncle. Pergh power siak dia lawan

Trying Too Hard

Starting from the beginning, the movie attempted so hard to give an impression that the leading character is so rich beyond belief. I believe Indonesian audience are so fed-up with self-proud scenes with mixed language in the conversation. To look smart and sophisticated by mixing English and Bahasa. Unfortunately, they look so prententious instead and unwatchable indeed.

More real fighers should be involved the making of the movie. But even then lazy acting and directing make this movie unbearable to watch. Don't waste your time. Go watch something else.

good, full of moral messages, but was mistaken for ethnicity.

A lot of moral messages in this film. good plot but standard twist. type of badik are badik gallang from makassarnese, it should used badik lagecong from buginese. because the bugis and makassarnese are different tribes, different language, different traditional music, different custom clothing, although many similarities. Also, location at rammang-rammang, maros (The term for this place comes from the makassar language. rammang2 in the makassar language means fog. ) and selayar, actually the people in that two place didn't use bugis language, but makassar language (in rammang2) and silajara tanete/palemba language (in selayar) :D. last, If dani is a bugis person and he returns to his hometown, he should go home to bone/soppeng/sidrap/pinrang/pangkep/sengkang district, not to makassar, it's the same as you tell the Javanese to return to the land of sundanese, or vice versa.... :)) but in spite of that, this film is amazing.

Not so epic combat

I really enjoy martial art movies. And it seems that the real martial artist are only yayan ruhian and his bro. The fight coreography seems really weak and fake. This movies would be better if at least they use real fighters for the main characters.

Creative Film Introducing the culture of the Indonesian

Tarung Sarung very creative film. Introducing the culture of the Indonesian tribes in this film goes very well. A lot of values that can be understood from Tarung Sarung.

An almost decent Karate Kid remake.

Plot is so much similar to your original Karate Kid movie that the protagonist even have similar name. That's the only passable part. Well, that and Yayan Ruhian being a calm caretaker.

The original Karate Kid movie introduce and let audience learn about the people and cultures of Japanese. So, the maker in this movie attempt to do the same. But instead of culture of certain ethnicity, it is now a religious culture, Islam. The once coming of age action movie is now a religious movie, which some people may find the approach cringey, absurd, and even ridiculous.

nice plot

Nice plot.. the only drawback is in studying the differences between the Bugis and Makassar tribes. It's different
