There are only two young actors that director Steven C. Miller truly sees as emerging into great action heroes in the near future: Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding. Miller, whose action-horror film Werewolves debuts Dec. 6, directs Sprouse & Gooding in Under Fire, an upcoming film that tracks two very different men undercover — a DEA agent named Abbott (Sprouse) and an FBI agent called Griff (Gooding). They pose as rival drug dealers at the Mexico border. Miller, who recently spoke to MovieWeb about his new film, is confident Sprouse and Gooding will surprise audiences and be breakout stars in the action genre, noting:
“You kind of get those vibes with certain actors that you're like, ‘Okay, these guys have that potential to be action stars.' And they do. They just… their vibe, their presence on screen… when you put the camera onto them and how they look on camera… there's just...

As a second baseman in the Baltimore Orioles farm system, the Montecito, California native found himself in the company of some of the nation's greatest young baseball talent. Still, after five years scratching away in baseball's minor leagues, Shelton couldn't make it to the bigs and decided to cross over to a career in screenwriting. As a writer, Shelton suffered some fits and starts but eventually found his words being spoken by...

With human justice absent in the awful political bloodshed in Central America, Guatemalan director Jayro Bustamente finds payback in cinematic fantasy. A crooked government exonerates a genocidal general, but his estate is besieged around the clock by Mayan-Ixil Indio protesters. Into the house comes a new maid — a tiny young woman who may nevertheless wield supernatural powers. The moody art-horror show is as delicate as The Innocents or a Val Lewton chiller — horror once again becomes an excellent means to address political evil. Slow and deliberate, it reverberates with horror history without copying the classics.
