"Sunny Side Up" will probably be enjoyed by kids from 0 to 7 and it better prepares children academically than "Sesame Street", "Mister Rogers", or "Bear in the Big Blue House".
Seriously, however, I'll admit it wasn't too bad, for the wee set. I believe that just about any live-action kids show, will always be compared to "ZOOM." Both this show and many like it, combined puppets with humans, and some an important lesson, or two. However, "ZOOM," a show with bigger funding and larger market appeal, seemed a much better produced product.
But "ZOOM" didn't have Kelly, Carly, Sean, Dennisha, Liz, and Kevin!
The Sunny Side Up Show has had many trained energetic faces present it over the years, as well as many well-loved Sunny Side Up presenters that children remember into their teenage years, who become almost an institution themselves.
Each episode has songs, dancing, birthday cards, the name of the day, and usually feature a short show such as Thomas or Fireman Sam. Those who grew up with The Sunny Side Up Show will have gold-standard series being introduced, and children will see their weather reports, news, messages, and birthdays shown on TV.
The presenters are entirely real, and their enthusiasm is clearly shown through in each episode. Children respond well, as the presenters encourage them to go to sproutonline and send in stuff, and lead the kids through crafts, songs, and dance, and using their imagination.
I've now mesmerized the games and songs I've learned from Sunny Side growing up. This is on-air talent at it's absolute finest. Each episode is raw, and presented as real. Indeed, the filming for each episode is done in pretty much one take, which just adds to the overall ambiance of the episode.
The Sunny Side Up Show is the most live morning show. Perfect for the kids to watch, anytime!
I wish more kids watched this - my generation enjoyed and learned so much. Plus, it would be nice to see them enjoy something other than the brainwashing nursery rhymes of "CoComelon." I also hope it gets rebooted for a new generation - look at "Blue's Clues!"
I'm always on the hunt for lost segments, and I've managed to find a few on YouTube pages on the Wayback Machine in August 2022 (I'm well-known in the Sprout fandom for finding rare stuff). In short, if children love fun, music, and laughs, they'll love "The Sunny Side Up Show!"
