“Star Wars” thrives in animation. Even if the earliest animated efforts like the Boba Fett short in the “Holiday Special” or the “Ewoks” cartoon weren’t exactly good, the past 20 years has seen the franchise produce some astonishing animated visuals and storytelling on TV. Whether it’s the cultural and visual variety of the “Star Wars Visions” shorts that reimagine what’s possible in the galaxy far, far away, or “Star Wars Rebels” delivering a mature and thematically complex story, animation is a medium perfectly suited for the endless imagination and creativity of “Star Wars.” And yet, no show has quite exploited that potential quite like Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Clone Wars.”

The show was developed and directed by Tartakovsky as a way of filling in the gap between Episodes II and III, showing the events of the eponymous Clone Wars and how it forever changed the Republic and the breakaway Separatists.

Seven years after Paul McCartney played a surprise show at Grand Central Station, the Beatle is back with more impromptu New York City concerts.

McCartney played an intimate show at the legendary Bowery Ballroom on Feb. 11, with physical tickets only available at the box office. (McCartney’s Instagram post warned fans: “Avoid purchasing tickets from third-party vendors. Fake tickets will not be honored and entry will be denied.”). The show sold out within 30 minutes.

Following that celebratory evening, McCartney announced a second show, taking place on Feb. 12; tickets once again instantly sold out.

In early January, Netflix released a brand-new Western TV show that has been gaining traction with viewers, and unfortunately, its success highlights a major issue with Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise. The Western genre has long been a pillar of entertainment, ranging from the days of John Wayne to more recent entries like No Country for Old Men and Bone Tomahawk. Since 2018, Yellowstone has brought neo-Western stories to the small screen, following the Dutton family as they grapple for control of their Wyoming ranch. Yet, Yellowstone is not necessarily a pinnacle of the true Western.

At the moment, Netflix is racking up incredible viewership on its new series, American Primeval. Created by Mark L. Smith, who wrote movies like The Revenant and Twisters, this Western follows a mother and son fleeing their dark past in Utah. However, their intentions are muddied by the growing war between the Mormon religion and Wild West culture.

George Lucas sought to expand on his film saga when he created Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a series that led to radical changes for many beloved Star Wars characters. Covering the three-year gap between Star Wars Episodes II and III, The Clone Wars fleshed out the stories of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and new characters like Ahsoka Tano. Some of the franchise's best stories were told throughout The Clone Wars' seven-season run.

However, several characters from the Star Wars movies and the original Star Wars Expanded Universe (now known as "Legends") were significantly changed for The Clone Wars. The original Clone Wars multimedia project of books, comics, and more was completely overridden by The Clone Wars, as Lucas' cinematic Star Wars projects were not required to adhere to the EU. While The Clone Wars is now the definitive canon timeline, it's worth analyzing how Lucas' version affected these Star Wars characters.

Christopher Reeve will always be the Man of Steel to millennials and Generation X. The Cavill-Corenswet discourse doesn’t bother them. However, during the original series of movies, the role wasn't always a guarantee for Reeve. He almost didn’t get the part in the first place, and then he almost lost it. Robert Redford, Paul Newman, Warren Beatty, James Caan, Burt Reynolds, and a bunch of other famous actors were ahead of Reeve on the priority list, but they all hated spandex.

Others, like Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, lobbied hard for the role, but fate works in mysterious ways, and action movie fans will always be secretly glad they weren’t selected. After all, the world would have been weird with Stallone as Superman instead of John Rambo.

Cara Maria Sorbello‘s dream of a fourth championship came to an end on Wednesday night’s episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras. Alien: Romulus was directed by Fede lvarez, and served as an Alien movie that newcomers to the franchise didn't have to have a wealth of knowledge about the complicated series to enjoy. Tsukasa Hojo’s Cat’s Eye is making a comeback with a brand-new anime adaptation, nearly four decades after its original debut.

The new series is set to stream exclusively on Disney+ Star in 2025, as announced by Disney+ Japan on their official X account.

The creator Hojo shared his excitement and surprise about the new anime adaptation, and said that he was grateful to fans for supporting the series for so long.
