    Guitar Hero III vs. Rockband

I've only played guitar hero 2 and 3 but i can safely say that Guitar hero 3 is better that all of them. And then we come to the cheap imitator Rockband. I'll admit that the rockband guitar is cool, but the strum bar sucks! When you have rapid notes in a row the RB guitar strumbar doesn't come back up very quickly, so your left there pounding on this strumbar. On the other hand, the guitar hero guitar looks just as good if you put the supplied stickers on it so looks good. And on the GH3 guitar, the strumbar quickly retracts back to the top for easy rapid strumming. Not to mention that the song list on GH3 is better than Rockband's.

Basically Rockband is a crappy imitator to the whole guitar hero franchise. It is trying to take Guitar Heros place in our living room, but i don't think this will happen for a couple of reasons.

First, the price of rockband is too much. Plain and simple too expensive.

Second, where are you going to put all the crap (the drums especially). I takes up a lot of room that i walk in. The GH guitar easily stores next to the TV.

In the case of Rockband vs. Guitar Hero III, definitely, GUITAR HERO III. Why, because it is a gaming icon and can't be replaced but a cheap imitator.

Really great game, but less great charts

the game is really great but it has some bad points.

    1. the charts are incorrect. their is many 3 notes that should be 2 note and 2 notes that should be 1.

    2. more chart problems. take the song 3s and 7s. the path right before the solo is wrong charted. sometimes i hear notes that ain't played and sometimes its too many.

    3. if you download the song "halo mjolnirmix" you can tap the last part. you don't have to strum a note 12 seconds after any activity! thats just insane.

but the songs are really great and i find the online function really good. much fun time. a partygame with much enjoyable time. worth buying, many says this is harder than gh2, i cant agree. gh2 is harder to get 100%, but gh3 has been made harder with incorrect charts

    lots of fun

the guitar hero series is known for addictive and fun game play. well, it's no different here. guitar hero 3 has a great new selection of songs, and just about every one of them is loads of fun. there are 4 modes: easy, medium, hard, and expert. throughout the game, you'll encounter famous guitarists who want to do a guitar "battle" with you. if you beat the guitarist, your rewarded. there's also a shop in guitar hero 3 where you can buy many things; such as songs. overall, guitar hero 3 will definitely keep you in a trance for a good while. you can always play many songs in a row, or play the game short bursts. either way, its a real great game.

    A great party game

Guitar Hero 3 Legends of Rock is one of those pick up and play games that you can get a lot of fun out of.

However the game will challenge you and will gives you the feeling of playing a real guitar. Since most releases of the game has a guitar that is pack with the game that's a good thing.

Also it's better to play the game with friends to try and do better than the other player did. That's gives the game a feeling of when you invited you friends over and play games together to try and beats one score.

The game play is the strong point of the game. You will find yourself playing the game for hours with your friends and to try and to be the king of the guitar.

The sound is another selling point since the game features many songs from classic to recent hits.

The graphics depending on how you look at them is where you either like them or just go they're okay but still the game is fun and will keep you playing.

I give Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock 8 out of 10

The BEST Guitar Hero game so far!

The subject says it all! In my book, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the mother of all Guitar Hero games! It has everything what GH fans were asking for. The graphics look amazing, a lot of new features including the "note streak counter" and "Boss Battles", but most of all, a WIDE range of Rock'n'Roll! Some tracks are remade but most of them are true original tracks! Many popular rock bands including, The Rolling Stones, Poison, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Guns n Roses, and my all time favorite band, METALLICA!!! But what is still bumming me is no Graveyard BBQ! But now the technology that video games had, possibly we will download new BBQ tracks sooner or later on our Xbox 360s or our PS3's. To make a long story short, true Guitar Hero Fans won't be disappointed because this version Guitar Hero will rock your socks off! ROCK ON!

    • Trivia
Guitarists Slash and Tom Morello actually did their own MoCap (Motion Capture) for their characters, so that the Slash and Tom in the game, have the same movements and styles as the real people.
    • Goofs
While The Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK" came out in 1977, the "2007" label is correct. The original master track could not be located, so the band re-recorded the song for the game.
